1 Chapter 1 Gatekeeper

"Class is over so I'll be leaving, see you all next week." The teacher stated as he left the classroom. "Whew, just the last of class of the day left, then we have our weekend!" A boy within the class said he stretched lazily.

Due to this chatter ensued as the class chatted happily, all but one boy of course. This boy was Jack, and he was extremely bored with his life, and really everything. He wasn't particularly good in anything, was extremely average, and most things couldn't grab his attention.

'Maybe one day I'll be like those fan fiction protagonists.' He contemplated as he smirked, shaking his head. "I wish." He muttered, before looking up at the great blue sky.

"Yo, Jack!" Another boy said as he tapped Jack's shoulder. This was Jack's best and only friend, Conner. He was about 1.8 meters tall, and looked great, being one of the highest in the year academics wise and great at sports too.

"Hi." Jack replied as he gazed at the flying birds. "Man, why do you always respond so coldly?" Conner asked as he chuckled. "I rather not waste my breath." Jack answered, hearing this Conner only smiled in response.

"So, any interesting happened in comic books or anime lately?" Conner inquired as Jack's face brightened immensely. Conner knew this was the best way to make Jack talk.

"Well actually yes....." Jack was about to say, when suddenly a massive magic circle appeared on the floor around the class. "WHAT THE?!" Someone in the class shouted. Seeing this sight tears filled Jack's eyes.

"It finally happened!" Jack shouted in joy as everyone looked at him weirdly, the only other person in the class who understood what was going on, was Conner. "Are we being ise...." He tried to ask before the entire class disappeared.

Immediately the sky froze, as the birds stopped moving mid-air, time itself, seemed to stall as the class disappeared. Soon after it began to move again, as the teacher entered the class. "WHERE ARE THEY!?!" The teacher panicked as he rushed out to look for them.

Somewhere beyond human conception, the class appeared within a white void. "What is going on!?" A girl panicked. "Oh no, don't tell me, we're in a horror film!!?" Another person exclaimed in shock, only Jack and Conner were semi calm.

"We really are, being isekaid." Conner said in shock as he looked at the white void. He wasn't much of a comic book fan or anime fan, but after staying around Jack enough, he had learnt quite a few tropes.

"I know right!" Jack continued in excitement. Hearing the two the class looked at them in shock. "What do you mean isekaid? What the fuck are you talking about?" Someone within the class asked, confused as to what was going on.

"Calm down." A calming voice, soothed the class as it appeared out of no where. Suddenly a pure white figure appeared within the void. "I am the Gatekeeper, I deem who and what may pass through the Outerverse into the Innerverse." The white figure said, as the class looked at in shock.

They were all about to question what was occurring when the voice interrupted. "I know you have a lot of questions, here, I'll give you all the information you need to know." The figure said as suddenly chunks of information appeared within Jack's mind.

'So basically we're being summoned into the Innerverse, the Innerverse is where all of what we call fiction resides. We live in a part of the Outerverse which we call the known universe, and the Outerverse more so act as spectators to what happens in the Innerverse.' Jack analysed as everyone came to more or less the same conclusion.

"Now, I know you may want to go back, but that is, physically impossible, for now at least. I can give you a small gift for your troubles though." The figure said at it floated between the class.

"Which is?" Jack asked in anticipation. "3 Rolls, you may keep the benefit from each roll, so you'll get 3 benefits in total." The figure said as suddenly an interface appeared in front of all of them.

"So we just click roll?" Conner asked in shock. "Yes." The figure said before disappearing. "Once you're all finished, I'll let you pass through." It said, its presence completely vanishing.

"Good luck." Jack said to Conner with a smile on his face. "God, I know you're enjoying this, but why did I have to be in the isekaid class?" Conner asked, but sadly, no one could answer.

The rest of their class was shocked but began to roll. "Oh my god, I got increased growth rate! On the rates list it says its uncommon!" Someone within the class said in awe. "Lucky, I only got increased strength gain." Another person stated with some sadness.

Due to the information given the students more or less understood, most of them also thought this was a hyper realistic dream, or thought of it like a game.

'This works exactly like a gacha.' Jack looked with a stone cold face. If he was unlucky he could be royally fucked. There were 6 rarities on the list, Common 50% chance, Uncommon 30% chance, Rare 15% chance, Epic 4% chance, Legendary 0.99% chance, Mythical 0.01% chance.

Naturally Jack hoped for a Mythical, but realistically he would get an Epic if really lucky, and a Rare if he had decent luck. Suddenly to the side, Conner exclaimed.

"What did you get?" Jack whispered, trying not to draw attention to them. "Why are you being so quiet, this is gre-" Conner tried to answer before Jack forcefully shut his mouth.

"Sometimes you're really dumb you know? We don't know what kind of world we're going to, so if you get something really good they might target your dumb ass." Jack said as he took off his hand, hearing this Conner sweated a bit.

"Good thing you shut my mouth, I can barely keep my excitement to be honest. Guess what I go?" Conner said as he looked really giddy. "What?" Jack asked lazily. 'This bitch, he probably got an Epic knowing his luck.' Jack mused, before hearing Conner out.

"I got a Legendary." Conner said as quietly as possible. Hearing this Jack nearly fainted. A Legendary wasn't just better than an Epic, but much better overall.

Commons to Epics only increased rates of obtaining abilities, such as increased strength gain which increased the rate of upping strength by 50% or 1.5x. Uncommons increased gain by 2x, unless it was an all encompassing attribute by growth rate, which increases everything by 1.5x.

Rares increased by 5x, and Epics by 10x. Legendaries on the other hand, gave abilities such as flight or fire magic, which may sound worse than Epics, but one must not forget, they're not guaranteed abilities in the other world, so a life saving ability such as flight, or a ranged ability such as fire magic could be priceless. Not only that, but the ability would grow at an extremely fast rate as well, so it was in no way inferior to an Epic.

Mythicals though, were a whole other ball park, the Mythical abilities were so grand, that they weren't even listed on the rates.

"What is it?" Jack asked curiously. "Weakness Nullification, it nullifies the inherent weaknesses of any ability I obtain." Conner said softly barely keeping in his excitement.

'What the fuck!? Doesn't that mean he can acquire something like the Mangekyou Sharingan, or a Devil Fruit and have no weaknesses!? Then again, depending on the world, it may be useless.' Jack pondered. "You got really lucky, but it really depends where we land." Jack said as Conner nodded.

"Well I still got two more roles, who knows, I might get two more Legendaries." Conner joked, before he went back to spinning.

Jack didn't see it as much of a joke though. 'If even he got a Legendary, then that must mean I require a Mythical!' Jack thought jokingly before tapping roll with all his might.

Immediately the image spun as word after word entered his vision. "Come on." Jack said as he crossed his fingers. Soon after the image stopped, leaving a set of golden words on his screen.

"Extreme Luck Enhancement." Jack muttered as he looked at the screen. He had just obtained, the rarest Legendary.
