7 CHAPTER 7: SAVING GRACE

After washing up, she didn't go back to the cave first but went to the tuck-shop to see the changes that the system had told her about. When she arrived, the first change she noticed was that the tuck-shop was now bigger than before.

Her first tuck-shop wasn't big enough to accommodate three people inside at the same time but this one she was looking for was the usual size 3 square meters and enough to put a lot of things.

Inside were two shelves and one has the transparent lunchboxes that she opened and saw the familiar steamed buns and the other box has dumplings and the aroma was just enticing.

The other shelf has the usual water jugs and the newly added snacks. It's been decades since she saw these beauties and seeing them now, she felt as if she was back in her home world.

She was looking at the various flavors of dried chips, who knew that she will be able to see these wonderful chips in this world?

The last item was the biscuits and they came in various flavors and types as well. The tuck-shop looked a bit fuller and she was loving it.

After checking the tuck-shop, she picked up a fruit chutney-flavored small bag of chips since the big bags weren't introduced yet. She munched on the chips as she made her way to her cave.

She hasn't seen her promised bedroom and toilet so she gathered that it may be back at her cave and she was looking forward to what it may be.

When she reached the cave, she felt as if she was in the wrong cave. Her cave was ordinary with a clear front as she didn't want any snakes visiting her when she was sleeping.

But the place she was looking at felt so unreal. There was a beautiful fence and a gate, some garden chairs, and a table, it was suitable for her to sit and have some tea or drinks when she has them.

She entered inside and the door of the cave was beautiful and much sturdier than the one she had placed before. When she walked inside, the old cave finally began to feel like home.

Her usual bedroom no longer was dark but the place was brightly lit with some lamps and she couldn't see the energy source but it was okay, it saved her a lot of money.

The bed was replaced with a soft and comfortable single bed she had not seen in a very long time. She was given a chest of drawers for her clothes and toiletries but one thing she really loved was the toilet.

Seeing this small room brought so much more happiness than the renovated bedroom. She was getting tired of visiting the bush every single time, the action was just too much and she wanted a change and finally, she received one.

The toilet despite being small also has a bathing place so she can now bath indoors. The only issue was getting water to use but apart from that, everything was beautiful.

She was loving her new cave and living in it now didn't seem like a curse at all or troublesome at all.

Alayna began to cook in her new kitchen some porridge and vegetables. On this day she took her plates and sat outside and began to eat. She was in the middle of eating when her guardian humanoid robot she had not seen from the day she received suddenly appeared in her courtyard and the eyes were blinking red.

[An intruder has been detected. A protective shield has been initiated.]

Alayna's mouth was wide open as she looked at the humanoid robot she had forgotten about. What the heck was even going on?

"What's happening?" she asked as she looked at the robot.

The robot turned its head and looked at her, [you will be safe inside, don't move!]

Since the other had said that and she was weak to defend herself, she remained seated and checked her surroundings to see if anyone will show up.

Around five minutes later, a body dropped down in front of her courtyard and the scene baffled her. A young man probably a teenager just dropped by the shield that her robot had put up and he didn't look pretty well.

As she was busy checking what was happening, her robot vanished and returned a few minutes later and during this period she didn't move a muscle as she didn't want to get into trouble by moving.

The robot appeared again and this time it simply carried the young man into the shield before disappearing again. Looking at the hurt young man, she knew that she had to nurse him back to health.

Alayna went in to the cave and found the man lying on a mat on the ground which was better than she thought. She didn't want the young man to occupy her bed at all.

Alayna was not a healer so she wasn't capable of taking out some healing pills to treat him. She looked at the young man for a long time before she recalled her special food.

Alayna rushed out of the cave and ran to the tuck-shop, she paid for a serving of steamed buns and a jug of water before returning back to the cave. Before feeding the young man, she removed his bloodied clothes and began to wipe his body.

His body has muscle and he looked just fine. She nodded her head in appreciation as she looked at the body. In her previous world, she had her own share of relationships but she wasn't suitable enough to marry.

When she transmigrated to this world, she was busy trying to change her fate and she became very old in the process. Before her spirit root was healed, she was already an old driver and no one would probably want to settle down with her except for widowers of course.

She wasn't much into men and relationships so she didn't have any other feelings for him except admiration. After wiping his body, she opened the water jug and began to force the water into his mouth.

It was the most tiring job that she had ever done but after a while, she managed to make the man drink a good amount of water. After that, she left him and went to the tuck shop to open her shop.

Alayna didn't receive anyone and she felt as if that man had fooled her and she felt very upset with that.

In a bad mood, she returned back to her cave and found the young man still sleeping. She fed him more water and went on her business as if he didn't exist.
