CHAPTER 12: CARMEN

Not everyone was lucky to find people who cared about them. The majority of marriages were simply based on mutual benefits and respect. Love was tossed out the window.

She met the person who changed her life just a few months before she was supposed to be sent to her groom's house, a widowed man twice her age.

He was in a lot of pain and hurt. She couldn't leave him alone, so she began nursing him back to health.

She received the beating of her life after sneaking into the mountain.

She was imprisoned, but her wounds didn't bother her because all she could think about was the young man who still needed her assistance.

After being locked up for two days and nearly being sent to her alleged husband, he appeared like a knight in shining armor and asked her, "do you want to leave here with me?"
