1 New life

1 am one rainy night.

The rain came down in thick, blowing sideways from the strength of the wind. The girl sitting on the window watched the rain falling in her courtyard with a bleak expression with her eyebrows furrowed. After a few minutes, she closed her eyes for a few seconds and then opened her eyes with visible calmness, as if she had come to terms with something.

"If you're brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello," murmured Ying Yue.

Just as she finished her sentence, the door of her bedroom opened and came in a girl with a concerned face as she asked her, "Young miss, it's nearly one in the morning, what are you doing?" After a pause, she inquired, "Were you again unable to get some rest?"

Ying Yue looked at her maid, Zhang Li, and gave her a small smile while she sighed and nodded her head.

"I can't sleep." She paused. "I'm having nightmares. Anyways, its midnight, why are you still up?"

Zhang Li replied, "I came to check on you, as I was worried that you might still be awake, miss."

It's been one month since her miss has been having trouble sleeping. She seems to be changed into a completely different person after she fell while riding her favorite horse that rainy day. The rain had made the forest muddy and slippery, therefore, the horse running at fast speed slipped down and hit the trunk of the tree lying on the ground. He died instantly, and the miss fainted. After fainting, she didn't wake up for seven hours, and when she did, she seems to have gone through a huge trauma.

When she opened her eyes, she stared at them as if she had lost her memories, when after a few minutes she soon becomes normal and acknowledged them. But she started crying and mumbling like 'Why did you leave me alone', 'how could you do this to me', 'why did you die, and why am I alive.' When they heard her, they were shocked, but then they understood that she was grieving for the death of her favorite horse. From that time, they started to give her space and accepted that she had changed because of the loss she suffered.

"Don't worry about me, it's normal. Go, you should get some rest." Ying Yue told Zhang Li. And after contemplating, she soon left.

It had already been more than one month since Jiang Ying Yue came to this world. It was a world of the novel which she was reading a day before she got into a plane crash along with her entire family and her best friend, Zhi Ruo. She couldn't get the picture of that crash which was due to the terrible weather that night out of her mind. To this date, she couldn't get over the fact that she lost her entire family, and more so that she got a second chance to live in this different world.

After making her resolution to live her new life rather than playing the victim, Ying Yue decided to go to bed and try to get some sleep. Even in her previous life, she was suffering from insomnia and it seems like that aspect has not changed yet. Then she realized that she still had a weak body and stamina along with her migraine from her previous life.

The next day.

Zhang Li and her twin sister, Zhang Min, both serving under Ying Yue came to wake her up. Zhang Min went to slide the curtains open to let the morning sun rays inside, while Zhang Li went to wake her young miss up who loved to sleep in the morning

As Ying Yue woke up from her sleep, she went to take her bath as she had to visit her family at the main hall in the morning. She was never used to someone helping her to bathe or get ready. So knowing their young miss's new preference, both the sisters left her alone.
