39 Making Money While Sleeping

Amelia opened her eyes and yawned cutely. She pulled a pillow and hit it a few times to make it soft. Then she closed her eyes and wanted to sleep again.

"Cough Cough.....leader, please wake up. I am about to pour water on you for making us stay here for so long."

Zhu Li really wanted to open the doors now that she has a code and leave but there is actually more to this place than meets the eye.

"No, sleepy..."

"No, wake up..."

A soft snoring sound answered her. Zhu Li wanted to tickle her awake. That is how she usually wakes up her lazy brother, but...this is the leader of the base....what to do?

An Idea came to her mind. "Leader, someone is stealing your money!"

"Who dares?" The woman stood up with a heavy sharp blade in her hand.

Zhu Li sneakily turned on the sprinklers that would release water if there's a fire.

"Oh what fresh hell is this? Lets leave this place quickly. Who the hell wants to bathe?" Amelia took back her bed and held Zhu Li's hand trying to teleport outside but to no avail.

Zhu Li quickly opened the doors and they got out. Amelia put her hand on Zhu Li's hand and teleported to her office. She then teleported to her own room, she took a shower and continued sleeping.

No way, who wants to wake up when they are so tired? She didn't want to drink the recovery potion so she can enjoy sleeping for the first time in such a long time.

The prison base is currently facing a disaster. A plant type zombie had gone out to gather many other zombies and zombie animals to attack the base. The zombie has been on the verge of advancing to another level for a long time now.

In order for it to succeed it needs to consume a lot of energy. The energy could either come from a high level nuclei like the one it had sensed in the D building that day, or a whole bunch of people's blood.

"That thing is planning to attack at night, I say lets obliterate it now. Why should we be impassive in our own home?" The old commander said to the two managers.

Du Hang and Du Wei looked at the tens of thousands of zombies and knew the base is facing a serious threat this time. Luckily all hope is not lost, the base leader had left tens of thousands of machine guns and bullets.

Not to mention, the people have been training hard for over a month now. The results can be seen at a glance so this challenge shouldn't be too much. It's just, they can't get a hold of the leader no matter how many times they try.

There are even zombies large ocean creatures coming ashore to eat them. These things that would normally hide away under the ocean are now actively coming their way to eat them. Large crabs with rotten underbelly flesh are the most common on the shore.

"Those things look vicious." A soldier said with a trembling hand on the gun.

"Then shoot them."

The distance is still a bit far no?"

"Do you want those ugly things to come here for us? I said shoot." One of the team leaders said with disgust.

The good thing is that when they ate the golden fruit all of their physical aspects increased by a large margin. The distance may be far but they can see clearly with the improved pair of eyes.

They shot the enemy and only some of the soldiers missed, even them it only happened in the beginning and soon they were killing the disgusting creatures in large numbers. Those things were going to crawl on the tall wall with little trouble.

While they were busy being eaten by the crabs, the zombies would also come in and devour what remains. It is a good plan, but now almost all the crabs are killed.

In any case, there is no retreat now. A shadow guards with high level opened a wormhole and aimed a long blade made of shadows killing many zombies. The other shadow guards saw this and did the same. It's a shame this move takes a lot of power and there are too many zombies.

The shadow guards remembered how tall their hospital base wall is and how these zombies wouldn't be able to clime no matter how many Cannon fodder they use to climb up. Look at the massive amount of zombies everyone wondered if there are still living people in the island.

The shooting didn't stop for the entire day zombies kept dropping and soldiers kept taking shifts. Unbeknownst to them, the plant type zombie has been busy making something akin to ladders on the other side of the base and once it finished, it called on high level zombies to come and climb this way.

Someone realized that some zombies are moving to a certain direction and when they followed them with their eyes they saw something disconcerting. Zombies jumping down to grab and bite people. Soldiers separated into groups and went to engage in battle.

Luckily many people were told to stay indoors and lock the bars. The window are not so easy to break but some people had wanted to see the fun. The soldiers had initially chased them away but soon they had to concentrate on the war and these people had taken this time to stroll around unsupervised.

Their numbers is not small, today the base had ceased all work so most thought it is a good time to socialize. When the zombies came down, they started munching on them one by one. The main leader looked to the supernatural powered people and wanted to eat them for maximum energy.

Many soldiers were stuffed into its mouth and chewed as soon as they come. The people have been eaten and the other zombies were also dying under the onslaught of super powers. The scene is chaotic but it was still under control compared to what would have happened if all the people were outside.

A soldier had been bitten but is still fighting. Releasing his super powers and over powering many high level zombies. These soldiers are very strong, in less then ten minutes all the civilians were killed but many soldiers were wounded and killed as well.

The plant type saw the situation is not good and tried to jump out of the wall but the managers used their spirit power on it and made it stand there for half a second. The soldiers littered it with bullets, however, the holes kept closing.

The plant type zombies are very hard to deal with. The commander took the sniper and blasted the head off after that he took out his sharp army knife and cut off the head cleanly.

The zombie couldn't die anymore. The subsequent battle went on smoothly. They shot all those zombies far and killed off all the zombies close. Seeing this as an opportunity, the commander opened the gates and let all the rookies out to fight in close combat.

They used the rest of the night to clean up the corpses but of course the soldiers went to rest and the protected people went to clean up and obediently bring back all the crystal nuclei.

The crystal nucleus were used to buy the many ingredients from the base shop and a celebration braai took place. Everyone was invited and those with deceased friends and family members mourned. This day everyone drank alcohol and celebrated their victory.

It is unknown if others realized how short life is and many young and old men and women decided to take up the offer of being escorts and live a fulfilling life before another wave of zombies came and killed them all. There is everything with the Du twins to complete this task. Contact ls were signed, people had earth shattering make overs and they started business operations in the assigned building.

The conditions are the same as the hospital base, exclusive beauty products, a luxury flat with a jacuzzi and a few maidservants. This haven't even included the high end food only available at high prices from the base shop. Fresh vegetables and other ingredients from her space given to some of the secretaries to keep in their space and only put them in the shop when someone places an order. 

The stock is only enough until the glass houses have their harvest. It is a good thing this place had several glass houses before the change, the previous owners were not able to grow anything because the soil was also contaminated but now with the use of the green moss, food can be grown. Amelia provided the space water that has spirit energy to make the taste exceptional. This people tasted some of the food in the shop and decided to become escorts. 

They have already been used and abused for a very long time before at least this time they will be living a good life and have a right to refuse customers if they don't feel like it. The initial volunteers were actually four times those in the hospital initial escorts recruits. Amelia would be very surprised to see this and after the brothels opened, the customers became plentiful as compared to the limited amount at the hospital base. 

The people in the island are very open and after they saw the jaw dropping beauties in the adverts they salivated all day long wanting to make money to spent on beauties. The important thing is the high level of female customers who go to buy services of the various fresh meat in the brothels. This business has become the most profit generating business in this base followed closely by the alcohol bar where drinks are sold by each glass. 

Across the world in the highest floor on the biggest hospital in china, Amelia is drooling on the bed thinking about eating delicious mystical fruits all day long. She is not aware her account has been deposited with hundreds of thousands in crystal nucleus. She is making big money while sleeping comfortably in her room. 

The managers in the Island have opened an online shop for selling the smart bracelets. They get stock from the space king who delivers the stock and it is then put online for sale. The online prices are still 24000 crystal nuclei. They are delivered by the shadow guards like last time. In the future, the delivery will be done by drones because Zhu Li has the idea and has already finished the guiding system for the mech design.

The original blue print for the mech is completed but needs a factory to implement and knowing this is very sensitive information Zhu Li put the design for an assembly line aside, the weapons system is a little special it requires an energy resource to help discharge a light that has destructive power. 

Zhu Li had use the crystal nuclei as a power source and realized it is not strong enough so she designed smaller weapons with the body similar to a regular gun, she decided to go further and designed blue prints for all the guns such as a sniper that can lock on the target. The bullets are concentrated light beams. The weight of the weapons are very light and can be assembled with a click of a button. 

There is data that interested her very much, it is the technology similar to Nano technology instead of the scale outer shell it is a light symbiose material and the design will revolutionize technology, even the armor will be put on with a single mental command. She knows these will consume time to figure out so she decided to do it in the future. For now she will focus on optimizing the armor system and figuring out the design for the body. 

Amelia woke up, the first thing she did is to take out a fasting pill. After feeling comfortable she took a shower and went to see old Mo. Checking the date she realized she has been asleep for many days, almost three weeks. 

In The Qin family. 

"Lu Feng, when are you changing your name back to Qin?" Xiaoping asked her husband while a servant massages her swollen feet. 

"You can start calling me Qin Feng if my mother's name disgust you so much." Lu Feng answers her while his eyes are closed. No one can tell what he is thinking. 

"Alright I won't ask anymore. can you come and feel the baby kicking?" She smiled and looked at him with watery eyes. 

Lu Feng opened his eyes and scooted over to her side. He put his hand over her stomach and waited, the small tremors made his cold heart warm. This is his son, he is going to be a father soon. Seeing his expression, she smiled and a sly glint flashed in her eyes. 

A cold man like Lu Feng can not be seduced using the usual means, but giving him a family will make him responsible even if he is not in love with her, after having children with him everything will fall into place. 

"This is a nice picture. Please don't stop on my account." Since they were sitting in the lounge, the grandfather walked in and saw this scene and a beaming smile broke out of his old face. He sat down and drank tea. they sat and chatted as a family and then the pregnant woman stood up with her servants to go have a rest. 

"I have an Idea to bring all the leaders under the same room so we can grasp their attitudes. By now, many people have become very interested to the hospital base." The old man decided to speak as soon as the women left. 

"Did the plan work?" Lu Feng asked. Previously because the hospital base leader had refused to show her respect to the Qin family during a war, the old man and Lu Feng conspired to create trouble for the hospital base. They sent people to spread the word that this hospital base has a way to enhance level one crystal nuclei to be as powerful as two level two crystal nucleus and it can be eaten directly to increase the level of strength. 

The base leaders are very greedy and they had just lost a large portion of their strength to the war with the Qin family so they sent people one by one to investigate. What they found out interested them very much. 

The previous large hospital has now been turned into a base and all that medication is intact. In fact, there is a large wall carefully constructed with a smooth marble like surface on the surface. It is the biggest city wall on the country. This made the initial greed turn cautious. Who can build such a magnificent structure in less than a year without anyone knowing about it? 

However, their investigation told them that the only powerful figures in the base are the base leader and the kids calling themselves nine kings. This made them want to watch and let someone else act first to test the waters.

Lu Feng looked at his grandfather, he is not afraid that this base leader will raise winds and storms. With the armor at hand, what do they have to fear? over 2000 warriors with C to A- level of mental strength have been practicing and many have already become proficient in using the armor. 

However, they have tried everything to achieve the same level of purity in the crystal nuclei to no avail. This is why they have devised this sinister plan. To their disappointment, the bases didn't act immediately and wanted to test the ability of this base leader first. 

"So, what's this big idea of yours?" 

"Since all the basses have recognized our family as kings, we should crown the next king and invite everyone for a mighty feast. What do you think? Won't they be angered to death a few weeks after they have each lost more than half their armies we are celebrating and throwing a feast? Hahaha..." 

"It is not a bad Idea. But what will prevent her from declining to come just like last time?" Lu Feng asked his grandfather. 

"I will write a personal letter to invite the leader and the old man from before. Even if she is eccentric she can not justify not showing up to a personal invite." Old man said in response. 

"She will realize you are targeting her, it would be best if we know how powerful she is before antagonizing her." Lu Feng cautioned. 

"We will also have a tournament to celebrate the royal family's first king in centuries. People from each base will have to send ten warriors to participate and lots will be drawn to determine participants. Leaders do not have to participate but the ten warriors are mandatory to be recognized as a branch under the protection of the royal family." The old man continued to explain making Lu Feng surprised, this way will really help the royal family get a measure of strength.

"What happens if they don't have qualifying ten warriors?" 

"They can let any of the bases absorb them into their base because they don't have strength to protect themselves." Old man Qin smirked. 

Lu Feng finally understood. This man wants to give the bases reason to fight among themselves. This will also allow them to recover some of the men power they lost in the war. 

"Or they can pay monthly tribute to the royal family to protect them in case of a zombie invasion. This will give everybody a way out. But we will make it clear we will only protect them against zombies and mutant animal attack and not against human armies." 

"You are encouraging war among bases. This is another way of asking them to absolve the weaker bases if they want and we won't interfere. You are targeting the Jiankang base. Everyone of those bases want the hospital supplies alone not to mention the purified crystal nuclei." Lu Feng exposed the old man's thoughts. 

"I don't know what you are talking about. I have already sent out the invitations with details of everything." 

"If only they knew, that submitting tribute will make them targets they wouldn't have bothered." Lu Feng sighed. This old man has been in power for too long and has become very petty. But who made him so fortunate that he would have a design to the most powerful weapon in this age? The power has simply gone to muddle his brain.
