3 [ Chapter - 3: Training Before Keiyou Campaign ]

--

In an open grassland, stood a rather handsome young teenager no older than 16 or 17 years old. He has long raven-black hair, flowing down to the middle of his back, tided-up using a dark blue old-looking metal hairband. He has sharp eyebrows and supernatural poisonous green eyes that seemed to reflect no emotions or feelings - It was just a green void that appeared to suck in any life it laid its gaze on. He wears a sleeveless blue Yue shirt fastened with a black cloth belt - barefooted.

This is Jin. A peasant with a Mother that died of a common illness due to being poor and a Father that died in one of Qin's Wars - like many others.

As of now, he is certainly training his footwork and Spear skills.

' The basics started from the center of the right half, huh?' Jin smiled. He knows at least the basics of Spear fighting, due to one of his 'phases'. Though, after a month of training, he abandoned that and moved on to Swords(he blames For Honor - Warden).

-Firm-footed: This is the start of his spear training. Basically, without moving one's feet, you extend the spear forward, allowing the body to follow. This is analogous to a rapier strike from  misura stretta  or a fix-footed thrust from  posta breve  to  posta longa with the longsword.

You then Lunge: Once you completed all the motions of the firm-footed strike above - You extend your spear then your body, and follow with a step with the front foot, just as you would with a rapier thrust.

This is then followed by a - Long strike: as you lunge, push the spear through your lead hand with your base hand, until your hands meet. The hands should be extended in front of your body, palms down, and lower than the spear tip. As you recover, slide your lead hand back to its normal position on the shaft.

Additionally, there is - Passing strike: where you slide the spear through your hand as for the long strike, then release the lead hand and twist the shoulders so the lead hand extends behind you and the base hand pushes the spear forward on its own.  Follow by passing the back foot forward so the body is profiled, arms extended, as if you had just completed a rapier lunge. Recover in reverse order, stepping back first, then pulling the spear back to meet your lead hand again. If the spear is heavy you are likely to end up dropping the point as you recover. Though if one is strong enough, this can be avoided.

Lastly, Shuttle strike: where one would begin with a long strike. As you strike, allow your base hand to come forward, over your lead hand, and slide the lead hand back to the base.  Complete the move with a mezza volte of the body or a triangle step to reorient your feet. You should now be in a mirrored position, with your opposite hand and foot leading.  This can be done with a forward or backward step, and is a handy way to change both orientation and lead hand while striking — a luxury swordfighters don't generally have!

In all these strikes remember to keep the point high enough to protect one's head, especially as one recovers.  As with all weapons, order is very important.  Make sure one's spear extends before your body, and your feet move last.

With these basic five steps: One would begin their journey of a Spearman!

..

" Let's get this started!" Now done with his training plan - Jin's eyes seemed to glow under the sun's scorching gaze, making one think the sun itself is watching the young man.

' I have probably only have about a week before summer is here, so I better get training!' This is the essence of his Survival, so he's gonna put his whole heart and very soul into it! He doesn't feel like dying. He doesn't wanna end like most men this age in this Era. However, he doesn't wanna be different either. He wants a perfect balance between these two. A man of above-average talent - that's what he's aiming for.

Then again... With Gae Bulg, that may not be possible.

' Damnit all to hell! Why did I get Gae Bulg?! I would have been happy with just some random sword!'

Jin's future is gonna filled with trouble, isn't it? He just fucking knows it!

[ Somewhere by Jin(MC) Two Hours Later ]

' Hm? What's this?'

Inhaling an odd scent, an unusual-looking man stopped in his tracks. He wears long red and black robes and has markings near his eyes.

' What is this feeling?'

Inhaling the unnatural aroma again, his curiosity got the better of him, as he started silently running to where the scent is.

..

' Is it coming from this boy?' His eyes widened, hiding on top a tree branch, watching a boy in his late teens, thrusting and swinging a crimson-designed spear that made his skin crawl.

' From the spear?' He eyed the spear for a minute, then frowned,' No... It's from both of them.' The boy and the spear seemed to become [One], both in body and spirit!

' Who are you?' It seems going home is gonna have to wait. His clan may have found a new promising [Seed].

" Who's there?!"

The Assasin simply smiled, locking eyes with the bright green-eyed young man,' Yes... What a promising talent, indeed.' Marking this place in his mind, he flashed away deeper into the forest.

--

' Who the hell was that?!' Jin frowned, the feeling of being watched left him.

' I need to find a better training spot.' At least he wasn't dumb enough to train outside where he lives.

'... I'll leave that to tomorrow me.'

Inwardly noting this, Jin got back to training.

..

Like this, the first day of training ended...

After doing a lot of twists and turns to throw off whoever was watching him, Jin found his wooden Hut next to a river.

Walking into his home(for now), Jin closed his door and almost immediately fell asleep hugging the dear life out of Gae Bulg.
