Mei Family

After the event that happened last night, the caravan ahead gives their thanks towards Jin Tian's help. The old man, Lu Weng which is also the leader of the caravan express their thanks personally. He wanted to see Chen Yue who he thought was the one who defeated Iron Head, but Chen Yue was still sleeping when he came. Not wanting to disturb him, Lu Weng just leaves with a gratified smile on his face. After that, their caravan left.

When Chen Yue woke up, their travel towards the Flowing Water City resumed. Their whole journey was peaceful and quiet. Mei Yin just remained silent the whole journey not daring enough to look at Chen Yue in the eyes.

"Young master I can already see the city" Jin Tian's voice sounded from outside the carriage. Chen Yue look at the window and saw that it was already dark. Ahead of them, he saw the Flowing Water City. Although the city walls were high, it was still nothing compared to the city walls of the capital. There are multiple lights in the top of the wall and several guards were patrolling.

After several minutes, they finally arrived at the city gate and pass through it with Uncle Sun in the leading carriage. Chen Yue look outside the window and watch the nightlife in the city. Mei Yin who was in front of him was excited in her return to the city after so many years. There were expectations written all over her face.

After the long journey, the carriage finally arrived at the Mei family mansion. Although the Mei family is one of the reputable family in the city, just from a single glance Chen Yue could tell the difference between the Mei's and the Chen's. The guard around the Mei family is realm lower than the guards at he Chen family.

The carriage stopped at the front of the mansion and a line of servant was waiting for them. At the end of the line was an old man with his face full of smiles. The old man was Mei Yin's grandfather, Mei Ba Dao. Beside his was and old woman, a man, and a woman. They were Mei Yin's grandmother and her parents.

When Mei Yin came out of the carriage, she immediately runs towards her family and hugged them tightly. When Chen Yue saw the tears on her eyes, he thought that she must definitely miss them so much. Just like how her family misses her.

Coming down the carriage, Chen Yue walk towards Mei Yin's family with Jin Tian and Xiao Ke following behind him. When grandpa Mei saw Chen Yue, a questioning look appeared on his eyes as he stares at Chen Yue and the two behind him.

When Uncle Sun saw his father looking at Chen Yue, he went forward and said, "Father this young man is the young master of the Chen family, Chen Yue. The two behind him is his personal bodyguard and servant"

When grandpa Mei heard what his son said, he glanced at Chen Yue with investigating look. He then nodded his head and said, "I didn't expect that you've already grown this big. The last time I saw you, you were only a little kid. But now you become a fine young man"

Hearing Grandpa Mei and his compliment on him, Chen Yue smiled and greet them respectfully. Although Chen Yue doesn't remember when he meets Grandpa Mei in the past, he still had a good impression of him.

"You must be tired in your travel here. Come inside and have some tea" the old woman beside grandpa Mei said. When she noticed that Chen Yue was staring at her not knowing what to call her. She smiles and said, "My name is Mu Lin Xue, you can just call me Grandma Mu"

Mei Yin's parents also introduced themselves to him. Her father is Mei Shan and her mother was Meng Qing. Now Chen Yue knew where Mei Yin gets her beauty, it came from her mother. Her mother also has the crimson red hair. She also seems to have the same temperament as Mei Yin.

When they were having their dinner, Grandpa Mei was very happy as he always talks about Mei Yin when she was still a child. Even her embarrassing moment as a child was discussed which make Mei Yin greatly embarrassed as she watches Chen Yue who was laughing at her. She could only frown angrily at her grandfather while pouting her lips.

Because the next day was the birthday of Grandpa Mei, the family went to bed early as they still have to prepare for tomorrow. They already sent invitations in the whole city and there will be a banquet tomorrow.

Inside the study room of Grandpa Mei, Uncle Sun was sitting in front of his father with a delighted expression on his face.

"Is what you're saying the truth? Mei Yin really had some feelings towards Chen Yue?" Grandpa Mei said when he heard what his son said to him. From his son's explanation, it seems that his granddaughter is in love with Chen Yue. But the best part was that Chen Yue seems to also hold some feelings for his granddaughter.

"I'm telling the truth father, I saw it with my own eyes how they interact with each other. They were quite intimate in their actions" Uncle Sun was beaming in happiness right now. He told his father the events that happened in the past few days, which makes him even more excited. Just thinking about how he was the matchmaker between his niece and Chen Yue makes him delighted. Because all his life he was busy in cultivation and in family business, he never had the chance to find himself a wife even though his father was helping him. Those women that he met, they only had their eyes on their family. They just wanted to join their family so that they can have power in the city. It is also because of that that Uncle Sun decided not to marry and just dedicate himself to the family. But when Mei Yin was born, he treated her like she was his own daughter and doted on her greatly. That is why he wanted to marry his niece and Chen Yue so that his niece can have a happy and stable life.

"I believe in your words, but there is some problem," Grandpa Mei said with dark face.

Uncle Sun seeing the dark expression on his father's face had a bad feeling about it. So he asked seriously, "Father what's the problem?"

"Earlier this morning, the city lord and the Liu family patriarch visited our Mei family. Because they knew that Mei Yin will return here to attend my birthday, they both came here to propose a marriage, they wanted son to marry Mei Yin. Although their children are talented, they were different to Mei Yin who was a genius" Grandpa Mei said.

Uncle Sun was surprised as he didn't know that the two families would propose marriage. It seems that the battle against the two families is getting big. "Father, what did you said to them?"

Grandpa Mei laugh and said with a cold voice, "What do you think I will say to them? Of course, I declined them both. They even wanted to implicate my Mei family in their problems with each other. Do they really think that I didn't know what they are planning to do! Do they think that I am dumb!"

"That's right father, if you agreed to them, Mei Yin will definitely hate you to the bones and leave the family. Now that we know who she loves, all we needed to do is present a situation where they can show their love for each other" with an evil grin on his face, Uncle Sun was already planning everything inside his head.

Grandpa Mei saw the evil grin on his son's face and knew what he was thinking. But he didn't want to stop it as he also wants that to happen.
