7 Second chance in Life

Akari froze for a while. Then thinking of something, she immediately shook her head and continued eating. There's no way of her spirit transmigrating into an otome game. That's impossible!

Because it's an otome game. A game made by humans and run by NPCs. If she transmigrated into an otome game, made by humans, then is she also an NPC?

No way.

While Akari was eating her food and pondering over her thoughts, Ada took a quick glance of her.

Ada knew that she wasn't 'normal'. She had died once. So, yeah. This was her second Life.

God might have taken pity on her life, thus he sent her back to her 6 years old. To the point where it all started.

Her name was Ada. Ada Cyril Elmstone, Daughter of Duke Cyril.

When she reached the age of 7, she was engaged to Prince Edward of Lennox kingdom. It was her happiest and joyous moment, because she had been having crush on the prince for 2 years.

On her magic aptitude test, it was revealed that she possessed two attributes of magic.

Earth and water. Her Earth attribute was fourth tier and her water attribute was third tier. It was a great feat for a 10 year old girl. Her parents, brother and her friends praised her endlessly.

Due to this, she became proud and arrogant. And these two characters were the reason for her downfall.

Children who awakened their powers must compulsory attend the Magic Academy for Education.

Alicia Void Destott. Her nemesis.

When she met Alicia, it was during the school opening program. Since the girl came from a common background, she bullied her in front of the whole school.

Her fiance and her brother protected the weak girl. Enraged and jealousy filled her heart.

Her method of bullying only increased as years went by. After being reprimanded by her father, she didn't want to stop. She wanted to ruin the commoner's life.

What right did the commoner have for joining the Royal Academy? Isn't she a mere commoner? Why is her fiance protecting the girl!?

Not only does her fiance like the commoner, her precious brother and her friends also began to like the girl.

Surrounded by the golden bachelors, how can she not be jealous.

One night, she accidentally found her fiance and the commoner having sex. It shocked her.

Her fiance never held her hand, but he was having sex with a mere commoner!

How can her heart sustain this betrayal? It must be the commoner, who seduced her fiance. Her biggest mistake was being in love with the prince.

Not only did he betray her love, he also seized her father's power and executed all her family members. Her precious brother also wasn't left alive.

Prince Edward wanted to keep the commoner all to himself, so he killed her brother and also her friends.

She never forgot the smug look on the commoner's face when she looked down at her.

It was all her scheme. Not only did she betray the love of others, she also betrayed her own kingdom.

She fell in love with the enemy kingdom's crown prince. After betraying her lover and her own kingdom, she married the neighbouring kingdom's crown prince and happily lived ever after.

After witnessing this, she immensely regretted. She regretted for everything she did. Loving the prince, disobeying her parents words, bullying her brother, ignoring her friends and mainly letting the commoner to stay alive.

It might be because of her strong thirst for vengeance that God gave her a second chance in life.

Narrowing her eyes, she glanced at the little girl, who was sitting beside her beloved father and happily eating the food.

As long as she remembered, her step sister Emma, died before reaching the age of 9. That wasn't the thing which troubled her.

Seeing the little girl happily eating her food, her heart was in turmoil. Emma wasn't like this.

Emma never treated her family as humans. She would either try to kill her parents or try to escape from the palace. Though she didn't like her step sister, Ada didn't hate her.

She understood the little girl's feelings. After all, her parents killed the little girl's only mother. Nevertheless, she wouldn't forget the evil deeds of the little girl.

Akari felt a strong gaze on her. Turning her head, she found the beautiful girl, sitting across the table and intensely staring at her face.

Confused, she touched her face. Even though she was eating in an unladylike manner, she made sure to keep her face clean.

Turning to the Duke, she lifted her chin and asked cautiously, "Is there something on my face?."

Cyril gently wiped his daughter's chin with the wet towel. Smiling in satisfaction, he said, "No". Akari said thanks and continued eating her food.

Does the young miss's elder sister like her face? (Probably)

Duchess Catherine looked at the daughter-father interaction and tightly pursed her lips. She pinched her spoon and looked at her husband with immense rage.

Ahh! She also wanted to sit with her step daughter!

Cyril turned to her wife and awkwardly scratched his neck. He knew his wife was being jealous. After all, she really loved the little child.

Even though the child was having thoughts of harming them, they didn't blame her. Catherine had always dreamt of having a second child, but it couldn't be fulfilled.

Catherine's body was weak and she didn't have enough strength for carrying a second baby. It would be risky to have a second baby.

Not only for the baby, but also for his wife. It was the reason for adopting Nicole as their son. When Catherine saw Emma, she didn't have the courage to kill the child, because she was her husband's blood. So she adopted her.

Now looking at her step daughter, who choose her husband rather than her, Catherine felt a sense of betrayal. She chewed her spoon and inwardly groaned in jealousy.

When Akari ate her dinner, she turned to the Duke and asked in an expected tone, "Sleep?". If she sleeps early, then she'll be able to wake up early for hunting (of information).

Cyril chuckled and rubbed his daughter's head, "Yes". Akari's eyes brightened in satisfaction. She climbed down her chair and expectantly looked at the Duke.

Don't judge, she didn't want to walk to her room. She would rather let the Duke carry her than walk for an hour.

Cyril chuckled and carried his daughter in his shoulders. After bidding goodnight to his wife, daughter and son, he took Emma to her room. He felt proud that Emma liked him more than his other family members.

Placing Akari on the floor, he gestured to Clara, Emma's caretaker to change his daughter's dress. After saying good night to his step daughter, he decided to have a chat with his family members.

Akari hurriedly held the duke's finger and called out, "Father?". Looking at him with lucid and deep eyes, she asked, "Can I visit the town tomorrow?". She's curious to learn about her new surroundings.

What if she got to see a blood drinking vampire or a ferocious orc, or a pretty elf or a huge and giant Titan (just kidding).

Thinking of the possibilities, her eyes brightened with atmost curiosity and expectations. The word 'no' was stuck in Cyril's throat. How can he bear to reject Emma's request with those bright eyes of hers.

Sighing deeply, he crouched down and held his daughter's shoulder. "Do you really want to visit the town?", He pursed his lips and asked in a low voice. He was scared of losing the small girl.

What if she escaped? After interacting with the girl for the last one week, he couldn't bear to leave the girl. Thinking of her existence disappearing in his mind, his grip on her shoulder tightened.

Akari slightly frowned in pain, but she didn't move. Right, she forgot that this young miss had a sickness. Now only she understood why the duke was being over protective. Yeah, what if this body got sick on the way? What would she do (probably sleep).

Aiya, but she also didn't want to stay here (it's too boring). She could only eat, sleep and read (which is not a problem). But she also wanted to find something interesting. Even though she had a lot of toys, she didn't want to play with it.

After all, she was a modern girl. She would like a phone, video games, AI robots (ok that's too much) or remote control helicopter or drone.

Not some cotton bunnies or sparkling jewels as toys. Even though she liked ornaments, these jewels were too eye blinding to wear. She's scared of being robbed or kidnapped.

Nodding her head, she said, "Want to". Even if sickness comes, she'll be able to deal with it (probably).

Looking at his daughter, Cyril wryly smiled and rubbed her head, "Ok. But in one condition". He can't let his daughter wander alone in the town. It would be better to let someone go along with her. Since he had an important job, he wouldn't be able to accompany his daughter tomorrow (which he regretted).

Akari immediately nodded, 'Young miss should be protected'. "You're allowed to visit the town, only if you allow your brother to tag along", Cyril sternly put his condition.

Nicole was the best person, whom he can trust his daughter with (after all, they're siblings).

Akari blinked. Brother? The boy who looked like a young duke? Sure.

She nodded. Cyril smiled and patted his daughter's head, "good girl". Akari subconsciously licked the corner of her lips.

After bidding good night to the duke and changing into a nightgown, Akari climbed on her bed and slipped into the layers of sheets. Only peeking her head out, she let an exhausted sigh and closed her eyes to sleep.
