15 Drew Consciousness (1)

Perhaps the plan would work out perfectly without Sungho bothering. What they did to Iseul and the plan they were scheming was made of pure cleverness.

Who could be the strategist of the empire? Sungho found himself immensely immersed in the approach that he came up with. It would be great to meet him once.

Meanwhile, despite him admiring the person behind it, Sungho was being forcefully escorted back to his chambers. Hyun Sik must have assumed that Sungho would ask a question once more, so he thought returning him would shut him.

Certainly, he would not ask another thing about the plan. Well, maybe after he got the response to the pair of questions running inside his head, which are the reason behind the meeting being carried out behind the empress' residence, and the specific day when the crowning would be held.

With him asking the first subject would only result in a major rejection, hence he simply brought out the second one to the same individual accompanying him back to the Cheon Han residence. "Seok, when do you think the coronation of the prince will be held?"

When his escort was hesitant to provide an answer, Sungho tried to convince him as he stated, "It is not that crucial, it's a trivial question that I necessarily need to know. I wouldn't be able to prepare myself when that day came, aren't I?"

Seok answered in a while that was followed with a nod, which was the indication of Sungho's successful persuasion. "... It's approximately three weeks from today, Your Highness."

"Thank you for answering, Seok." Sungho gave him a smile, which unintentionally changed into a grin.

Three weeks before the coronation day, solely, what he needed was to idle and wait for that distinct date. However, the particular idle in his mind was not lazing around his chambers but collecting more information about the plan.

If Hyun Sik refused to give him anything, then he could just get them on his own. Sungho argued to himself that it was just normal to get curious about something that could be dangerous if he would not examine the details thoroughly about it.

What could happen if he did not know how to act when that time came into being? Besides, he needed to prepare himself mentally even if he could not prepare himself physically because of his situation.

What could a blind individual do when he was in a crisis without any person to ask for support? To flee from the place when he was in a state of emergency? For sure, it would either be seconds until he tripped on a flattened road or were caught by the ones who were chasing him.

As Sungho was going deeper from the thoughts forming in his head, a familiar voice from a female called out his name, "Concubine Eun?"

Two figures from the distance revealed themselves when Seok led him as they took a turn from the corner. Although he knew whose voice the high-pitched voice belonged to, Sungho could not recognize the other figure she was with.

"Grand Concubine Jin, is that you?"

"Yes, Concubine Eun. And who may be the person beside you?"

"He is one of my brother's men. He is to accompany me while my court lady is occupied at the moment. I ordered her to fetch for some books at the library after all." Sungho did not forget to smile when he gave her a reply. "And how about Her Highness?"

"I am with His Majesty, can't you see?" He swore he could hear her low snickers as she spoke.

Sungho pulled out his hand from Seok's arm and immediately bent his head forward. "It's been very rude of me, Your Majesty. Please forgive me for my negligence since I could barely see a living," he faked a worried tone and made his voice waver while he was talking.

"Of course, the apology is accepted. Except, how could a mere concubine who won't sleep with His Majesty have the audacity to spend her time with another man?"

'Huh? What does this woman want from me?' Sungho felt his blood boil by the sudden scene of the grand concubine starting once again.

"My deepest apologies, Grand Concubine. This humble concubine could not recollect mentioning she spent time with the generous man beside me. I remember telling Her Highness he was my escort. Foremost, I was originally returning to my chambers after being able to see my beloved brother for ages. Please forgive this concubine, His Majesty, and Her Highness."

Sungho believed he went too far when he concluded his statement. Well, at least he felt relieved, and it was not bad to inform the grand concubine she was deaf with the different ways of stating it.

"All is good, Concubine Eun," was the king's answer as Sungho was pleading for their mercy.

However, Sungho remained with his head lowered not after the couple went their way and left him where he stood.
