Possible Risk?

As Sasuke returned to Tazuna's house, upon seeing him Kakashi gave him a nod before he stood up from his laying position. Walking over to him he gave him a pat on the shoulder before they both walked outside, getting far from the house as to not disturb anyone.

"So, what kind of information did you find?"

Sasuke pulled out a scroll, unraveling it quite far before he began to show it. "I found the information we wanted, about his connections, the corruption, as well as his main business funds and transactions. But I also found a few other things, things that will blow some minds."

He rotated the scroll as he went down the list, letting Kakashi read through it. The more Kakashi read through it the more he sweated. They just stumbled across a rather big deal, didn't they?

When they got to the part about the mines of the chakra metal, Kakashi let out a low whistle. ''No wonder he wants this place so badly, he doesn't want the information to spread at all... This is good, real good. With all this, not only can we jump-start Konoha's economy again, but we can also make it so it was you who did it, giving you a large step back into the politics of the village... This also gives us the chance to give the Land of Waves a great bonus so they can experience a small golden age, and it will open trade better as we can offer a deal, some of their chakra metal for secrecy so they don't get raided, and protection forces."

Sasuke nodded, closing the scroll as he handed it off to Kakashi who took it, putting it away into one of his pouches. ''Anything else mind-blowing you need to report, or are you done with surprises?"

"I successfully got the Demon of the Mist, and his apprentice Haku Yuki to make it so they don't cross us in any confrontation from now on."

Kakashi stared at his young Genin, not knowing exactly how to react to the information given, but the one thing that did come to his perverted mind was the single question.

''And how exactly did you do that?"

"Returned his sword, offered a bigger price than what Gato had been paying them. They're attempting to get funds for another rebellion against the Fourth Mizugake."

Hearing that Kakashi frowned a bit behind his mask, he had heard about what was going on over there, and he could honestly sympathize with what was going on there as well. "Well, I guess that takes a lot of weight off our backs... When do you want to strike?"

"We'll wait to strike, Gato is planning an all-out attack when the bridge will be almost complete, he plans to kill them all, consolidate his standing here, and get a large amount of the ore mined before he'll then finish the bridge with his own workers, and claim that he basically owns the land."

Kakashi nodded. ''We'll inform the rest of the team and Tazuna so he knows what to suspect. Then build a plan around it."

"Agreed, taking Gato's head in front of the entirety of the workers will give them a spark of hope they truly need, and that also means we get to turn in his head for the sizable bounty on his head."

Kakashi chuckled, shaking his head. ''Is it always about money?"

"Money moves nations Sensei if I was able to triple the village treasury. Could I pay the entirety of the village to go to war with another village?"

Kakashi hearing that frowned at the harsh reality. Something he wasn't too fond of, but when you thought of everything down to much simpler terms. Wasn't he one of those as well?

Just another killer for hire.

"That's not your plan though, is it Sasuke?"

"Make the village go to war? No, that would pull Konoha into a war it doesn't need, we're still trying to recover from not only the Uchiha massacre but also the death of the Fourth. No, I'm aiming for the council and the Hokage."

Kakashi's face darkened as he stared at his young Genin, his thoughts darkening. Would he need to eliminate a flight risk?

"There it is Sensei, loyalty to the Hokage, or the village? Brainwashed into believing the will of the fire, which is supposed to be the will of the village, but when has the civilian's plea's been heard?"

There was a silence between them, Kakashi's thoughts his own before Sasuke dealt a blow Kakashi wasn't prepared for. ''Just like the council brought your father to Suicide because he would've been a Hokage they couldn't control. Unlike the third who is too old and a coward to take risks, just as the Fourth was too aloof and kind to think about going against his own people."

Kakashi paled, when his father had died when he was younger, he had become angry, fuming with hatred and it lead him down a dark path himself. Now that he was older, he had a lot more control, a lot more time to think.. Sasuke's words, no matter how outlandish they seemed, made sense.

"I promise you Kakashi, my loyalty is to the village. But it's Hokage, it's council? They are rotten to the core, and those who aren't? Are too small to be heard. When we return to Konoha, I will take you to the Uchiha Police Force HQ, down into the deepest archives. There are some things you need to see, some things that will change your mind about a lot of things. But no matter what, I want what's the best for the village, not the greater good. I just want to make sure the civilians my family fought so hard to protect remain safe."

"I am not going to do what my ancestors did, I am not going to rebel in force, or in strength. I am going to beat them at their own game, I will use politics, support, money, and blackmail to win their own war. I will replace the council and Hokage with people to who we can truly leave the village to. Someone who wants the best for the village just as I do, just as your Father did. Just as my father and brother did..."

Kakashi watched Sasuke for a long moment, quickly realizing just why Sasuke had shown such a drastic change in maturity over the months, though the death of your entire clan would do that to a kid. Kakashi now understood how it had happened, Sasuke had seen through the cleverly crafted veil the village council and its Hokage had laid over his eyes, he wasn't ignorant in the inner workings anymore.

"Fine... I will see the proof you have, but Sasuke... If I ever feel you are a risk to the village, to its people. I will eliminate you."

Sasuke grinned at that, looking up to his teacher before he spoke. ''Then you better keep training to get stronger Sensei, because I won't idle in my training either."

Kakashi raised a hand and began to use his knuckle into Sasuke's head, grinning down at his student. ''If you think I'm going to let some little squirt like you surpass me, a genius. Then you're sourly mistaken little 'Genin.'
