11 Timeskip and, Quidditch or Stealing and Brewing

Time past and November arrived, the weather turned very cold. The mountains around the school became icy gray and the lake like chilled steel. Every morning the ground was covered in frost. It did however not stop my grind. Liberal use of warming charms saw to that.

Moving on, the Golden Trio had fully formed after the troll incident. With Hermione's becoming much more relaxed a person. I'd however been spending most of my time studying ancient runes books. Becase, the book i'd got from the R.O.R titled Elements was written in all runes. I'd tried to just use the translation book but it came out as pure gibberish. So i'll probably have to wait until my comprehension was higher.

By that same token, the other books I had been able to read. Extreme incantations writen by Violeta Stitch, a war veteran who survived through Grindelwald's era. It contained all kinds of first hand experience and some battle spells. For example, Ossio Dispersimus, the deboning curse, which was probably the spell Lockhart used to remove Harry's bones.

There was was also the last book, Advanced Charms Casting. It was actually writen by a Fantasic Beasts character. Eulalie Hicks who even Dumbledore said had superb charms work. While the book didn't have any spells I didn't already know. It did have some tip and tricks on faster spell speeds and things like non-verbal magic. All in all it was good read, i'd probably give it to Hermione when I was finished.

Which brings me to today, it was the first Quidditch match of the year. Seating with my fellow Gryffindors in the stadium red and green all around tension high in the air. Of course that is to be expected, it was Gryffindor versus Slytherin after all. Eventually both teams arrived cheers erupted in the crowd. When the teams where with Madam Hooch she eventually signalled the start with her whistle.

-

The game was off, the biased and comedic commentary by Lee Jordan combined was probably the best part of the game. The game itself however was just the Slytherin team using foul tactics and Madam Hooch blowing the whistle. To no avail, the fouls didn't stop and game. This tactic or whatever the Slytherin were playing only served to make the game boring. Well Quidditch was boring to me in general as I wasn't a fan of the no time limits and, the seeker position as a whole. But, it was a huge part of the game when you think about it. Would you rather have a good team of chasers that rack up points or, a seeker that catches the snitch fast making points not matter. Of course that still doesn't take away from the fact that regular Quidditch is boring.

"Budge up there, move along." Came a voice throwing me from my thoughts. Looking over it was none other than Hagrid.

Hermione and Ron who'd been seated next to me squeezed together to get more space for Hagrid. Hagrid who somehow

managed to fit himself onto the end of the bench, greeting Ron and Hermione.

"Hello. You might you be?" Asked Hagrid. Holding out his hand in greeting.

"Neville Longbottom." I said accepting the hand. Hagrid was a good guy an idot at times but a good guy.

"Rubeus Hagrid. I knew your parents. Good people." He said.

"Thank you." I replied and we both turned to the game.

Eventually, i'd gotten to just fowl after fowl and i'd gotten sick of it. So I said my goodbyes to my fellow Gryffindors and left. Much to Ron's shock as if anyone wouldn't want to watch Quidditch.

After entering the castle an idea struck me. With the entire castle occupied with the Quidditch match. I could probably raid Snape's potions storeroom. There were a couple potions i'd been wanting to make anyway. Checking the Maruders Map, seeing the coast clear I took the fastest route towards the Potions store.

Arriving at the storeroom a wandless unlocking charm later I was inside. I didn't plan to take any rare ingredients or anything. Not becase I wanted to be stealthy or anything that was impossible. I just didn't have the brewing skills to make something with them. With that in mind I just took the ingredients for Wiggenweld and, some blood replenishing potions. That should be enough for four of each. With my pilfered items in pocket I exited to room and locked it back.

- -

After cleaning out one of the better cauldrons in the Undercroft. I started the brewing process of a Wiggenweld. The potion was basically two ingredients Horklump Juice and Dittany Leaf. But, the process was a little delicate. You had to ratio the juice to leaf perfectly or you'd just have a cauldron with inert ingredients and a waste of time.

Three hours later I had my emergency potions kit finished. Then I remembered I had no place to put any of it on me. I'd have to get an expanded bag sometime. For now though i'd leave all of it in the Undercroft. Maybe, gran would be able to get me one. Better yet I could make one myself. Maybe not right now but, i'd look into it later.

With my little potions foray done I headed to the Great Hall. Reaching the Hall a secret passage way later I sat at the Gryffindor table.

"Yo." I greeted the table.

"Hey Neville." Greeted Hermione. The boys at the table gave me nods.

"So what happened after I left the game?" I asked filing up my plate.

"Oh you won't believe what happened Snape-"

"Shhh!" Ron who was trying to explain me cut off by Hermione putting her hand over his mouth.

"O…k" I said extending my reponse to show my confusion.

"Can you explain it then Harry?"

"Uh well…I'll tell you in the dorms." Replied Harry as if they were the nuclear codes.

In response to that I just took out my wand. And waved it casting a Muffliato around us.

"Ok you can talk about it now nobody can hear us." I said to the trio.

"What spell was that!" Blurted out Hermione in an uncontrolled manner.

"I write it down for you some time. Now story." I told her.

"Right so when I was playing Quidditch—" And Harry went on to talk about losing control of his broom in the air.

"And, I took Hagrids binoculars and saw—" Hermione continued with her perspective seeing Snape chanting staring at Harry. And coming to the conclusion that he was Jinxing Harry's broom.

"And, remember on Holloween Snape was running towards the third floor. Well on night-" Harry then talked the midnight duel finding Fluffy. Then, after tea in Hagrids hut they found out about some of Nikolas Flamel's being protected there.

"Wow. You three really are nosy as hell." I said making the three in questions jaws drop.

"""What!"""

"I mean what else do you expect me to say. Your involving yourselves in something that's ultimately none of your business. Your also suspecting Snape with no evidence." I said rebuking the trio.

"What you mean he was jinxing Harry's broom i've read all about them!" Replied Hermione, even less uptight she saw still a know it all.

"What spell was he using?"

"What do you mean?" Asked a confused Hermione the wind leaving her sails.

"You heard me what was the spell? If you don't even know what he was saying, how can you be sure it was him." I said dismantling their logic. I wasn't going to outright tell them it was Quirrell but, i'd rather them not be completly surprised.

"It doesn't matter what spell it was he was still the only one using one." Interjected Ron.

Getting a battery put in their backs by his ignorant statement Harry and Hermione looked ready to back him up. See as their minds wouldn't change I just gave up and released my spell around us.

"Why'd you release the spell?" Asked Harry.

"Becase there is nothing left to talk about." I said and began to eat.
