2 Life Changes 2

Now having an actual fucking mint of money was great, as he needed to buy new sheets and covers.

''I'm heading out again Mom! Do you need anything from the store?''

''Again Issei? You just got back! But now that you mention it, we could use some more baking powder please, you know the kind!''

''Can you send me a picture just in case?"

''Yes I can... Oh where did I put my phone now? Get back quickly though! Your father is getting home soon.''

There was a slight cough from his mother, Issei shifted a bit as he listened to how the cough sounded. Taking off his shoes again quickly he made his way back upstairs to blow out the candles just in case it was the smoke, he wasn't sure if it was Asthma, but he had a friend from his old life with a similar problem, and he had heard the cough enough to be able to pretty much identify it.

Looks like he'll be grabbing some oils he can heat up instead, no smoke, no open flame.

Once he was back downstairs onto his bike he made his way to the store, needing to stop at three different ones to get his sheets and covers, his wax heater so he could still make the house smell good without smoke and an open flame.

As well as the baking powder she asked for, as the first store he went to was out.

As he made his way back into the house, he took his shoes off, using his foot to straigthen them out before he called out. ''I'm back, welcome home Dad!''

''Welcome home Issei!'' It was his Father calling from deeper in the house where he most likely was.

Making his way up, he made his bed with the new sheets and covers, set up the melter, and kept his window open he continued to let the scent waft in the house. Stopping in his bathroom he washed up quickly before he headed back down into the kitchen, putting the baking soda where it usually went.

''Thank you Issei, how much did it cost?''

''Don't worry about it, mom.'' His face got squished as she grabbed one of his cheeks to pull him towards her so she could kiss his cheek in thanks.

''I sold some of my old toys so I have some spending money.''

''Oh Issei! Are you sure? You loved those things!''

''I did, and I still do, but change means changing Mom... I made sure they ended up in a good home, a fellow man of culture.''

She scoffed when he said that, shaking her head. ''You and your father's weird terms. Go get your Father, dinner is just about ready.''

Leaving the Kitchen he moved towards the back of the house where he seen his father standing in the mirror of the bathroom, rubbing at his chin in contemplation.

''Dad, dinners almost done.''

''Ah, let me wash my hands... The house smells good today, what your Mom do?''

''Oh, I bought a wax heater, it's like a candle without an open flame or smoke.''

''That's pretty convenient, how much did it cost?''

''I got a cheaper one so only a little under four thousand yen.''

''That's a pretty good price, may have to get one for our bedroom as well, heard a co-worker of mine talking about how there is a scent that helps people rest.''

Issei walked away as he heard his dad washing his face.

Soon he helped get the table set up, once they all say down prayer was spoken before they all began to eat.

Compliments towards the chef of course, something deep in Issei moving as he tasted a proper home cooked meal for the first time in both of his lives.

''Oh, dad can I get you to sign a permission slip?''

''A permission slip? Some sort of summer vacation?''

''No, it's for a martial arts dojo, I want to sign up and begin practicing.''

''A martial arts dojo? I remember when I was your age I was just getting into Kendo... Alright, bring it to me after dinner and I'll sign it, how much do you need?''

''I've got enough for the first few months, afterwards I'll get a part-time job at the grocery store down the street to pay for it.''

His father watched him a long moment, a soft flicker of light in his eyes before he smiled and nodded. Returning to the delicious meal before them.

Other than the occasional conversation topic, his father speaking about work, or his mother talking about something on the news, dinner passed by quickly.

Afterward, he helped clean up, and then brought the permission slip he had grabbed earlier in the day and handed it to his father with a pen.

With ease, his father signed his name in great handwriting before he handed it back.

''If you need me, I'll be in my room working out and watching T.V. before bed.''

''Goodnight Son!''

Returning to his room he did just that, turning on the T.V. he began a full-body workout, leaving enough time for a cool down workout as well before he washed up and got ready for bed, turning the T.V. to the news as he lay on the bed on his side, watching it.

It was while he was watching it did he noticed a feeling he hadn't noticed yet.

It was warm, and it felt like it was slowly helping him relax and heal his aching muscles. It felt incredibly slow, however.
