Failed Plot Armor

'Well... that was pretty cringe.' Ronald took off his hat and couldn't help but scratch his head in embarrassment.

The reason why he had stated those previous lines to begin with was because he wanted to trigger Ye Fan before he had gone unconscious.

But thinking back at it now, it was probably a better idea to just stay silent.

Anyways, this raises the question...

Is Ye Fan truly dead?

'...'

'Hah, I wish.'

Even though Ye Fan wasn't breathing and his pulse was completely absent now, that didn't mean that Ye Fan was dead.

After all, Ronald had 100% fully confirmed that Ye Fan was clearly still the protagonist.

Ronald could probably throw Ye Fan's 'dead corpse' into an active volcano right now, and he would still somehow survive.

He was already surprised that he had managed to still penetrate through Ye Fan's throat with a surgical knife despite all of the power-ups Ye Fan had gained through his plot armor so far.

No matter how strong Ronald was, he would never be able to kill Ye Fan, and the system knew that as well...

Which was why the system never bothered trying to punish him ever whenever Ronald would try to kill Ye Fan.

And this was also the reason why Ronald had never hesitated to beat down Ye Fan in this life whenever he had the chance or wanted to.

'The villain's fate... huh.'

In theory, Ronald could've 'failed' his suicide plot or completely fake his death in front of the public eyes and stay on this world for a much longer time in his previous life if he wanted to, and the system probably wouldn't of mind it as much... maybe.

But the main problem with that was the longer a villain in this world lives, the more hatred they'll get overtime.

Why?

Because of the villain aura that literally all villains have.

The villain's aura gets and grows bigger the longer a villain lives, therefore gaining more hatred from the world.

This is why most of the high-ranking villains who have lived for over hundreds of years and even thousands of years are super hated by almost everyone in the entire world.

Heck, Ronald was already quite hated by the majority of China already before he had even commited suicide in his last life despite only being in this world for 7 years.

So just imagine all of the big villains out there that lives over 100 years.

Although it sounds like Ronald has it pretty rough, he didn't really care anyways.

After all, he was already used to all of this.

Ronald stared at Ye Fan's 'corpse' and pondered to himself if he should just keep trying to 'torture' Ye Fan.

The reason why Ronald was pretty hesitant about it was because he was aware that if he continues to torture Ye Fan to the brink of death, then the plot armor will continue to power-up Ye Fan.

Of course, no matter how much power-ups Ye Fan gets though, he still wouldn't be able to kill Ronald.

The main problem was that if Ye Fan becomes way too strong before the second half of the story even starts, then he would easily defeat all of the future villains who would've given him a hard time otherwise.

And Ronald didn't want to watch some of his former friends struggle without even putting up a decent fight.

While Ronald was thinking about if he should just keep testing out Ye Fan's plot armor or not, he sensed that a bunch of people were rapidly headed towards his way.

So Ronald quickly went to the corner of the bedroom and faded away into the darkness where he still had a clear view of Ye Fan's body.

"Ronald! Where are you? It's me Luna, please come out if you're hiding somewhere!" Luna entered the abandoned house with some of her sect members and shouted out loud.

"With all due respect, Sect Master, I don't think Ronald could've gotten this far." One of the Sect Members that had entered with Luna stated respectfully.

Although Luna didn't reply back, she knew that what her sect member had stated made sense.

For some reason however, Luna had a strong feeling that Ronald was currently hiding somewhere in this abandoned house.

It was as if a invisible force was screaming to her that he was here.

So with that in mind, she started to search through every nook and cranny of this abandoned house.

The moment she had entered the bedroom though, Luna's killing intent was so strong that almost all of her sect members present in the house had almost fainted.

"S-sect M-master... w-what's w-wrong?" One of the Sect Member mustered all of her strength and energy to go to where Luna was at and asked.

"..." Luna was staring at Ye Fan with so much hatred that she didn't even hear her sect member calling out to her.

Although she didn't know how Ye Fan had gotten into this miserable state to begin with, she knew that Ye Fan definitely wasn't dead despite the fact that he looked like an actual corpse.

And even though she really wanted to kill Ye Fan now, she knew that she couldn't do it now even if she wanted to.

If it was this easy to kill Ye Fan now, it wouldn't have taken so many years in her previous life in order to kill Ye Fan.

Not only that, but the Ye Fan in this life seems significantly stronger now than he was before in his previous life.

At first, Luna speculated that Ye Fan had regressed as well, but she quickly scratched out that idea from her head.

If Ye Fan had truly regressed back in time just like everyone else, then he would've definitely had a grudge against her and all of the other girls that had plotted to kill him in his previous life.

"Search for a house that has a big secret compartment in it and buy it. Afterwards, send him into that house and tie him up. Don't let him escape and wait for further orders." Luna said in a unsympathetic tone then left the abandoned house.

"Y-yes, Sect Master!" All 5 of the Sect Members that had entered the abandoned house with Luna simultaneously shouted, picked up Ye Fan, and then all exited the abandoned house with Luna.

After seeing that the coast was clear, Ronald emerged out of the darkness and couldn't help but shake his head.

'Well uhh Ye Fan.'

'Your plot armor really fucked you up this time.'

'Eh oh well he'll probably somehow escape Luna's grasp anyways.'

'...'

'Wait, if Ye Fan is still the protagonist...'

'Then who the hell is Ling Feng?'
