3 Phoenix God's Inheritance

[Ding! Congratulations Host for obtaining Profound Floating Technique - Intermediate Stage and 10 Plot Armor points.]

[Do you want to proceed to upgrade your skill?]

The system asked.

"Upgrade it." Feng Xiluo replied.

Profound Floating Technique was a Profound Skill that was unique to the cultivators who enter the Sky Profound Realm stage. He, for one, was now at the 1st stage of the Emperor Profound Realm. As his level of skill was at the beginner stage, he chose to upgrade it.

[Ding! Congratulations Host for successfully upgrading the Profound Floating Skill to the Intermediate Stage!]

[There will be a significant boost in the Host's agility and the consumption of the profound strength will be lessened by more than half.]

The system continued to explain the features of the new upgrade. By far, what Feng Xiluo knew was that it was much better than 'Extreme Mirage Lightning', Hua's family hereditary movement skill.

[10 Plot Armor points have been deposited to you, Host.]

The system then informed.

"Is that all?" Feng Xiluo asked.

[Yes, Host.] The system replied.

Feng Xiluo let out another sigh of relief. With his current Plot Armor points, he could rest easy that he would not be easily swayed by the Protagonist. He was not cannon fodder anymore.

At least for now.

"System, Upto what extent did the plot progress?" he asked.

[Answering to the Host, The Protagonist Yun Che's previous body was just poisoned to death. With the system's interference with the Sky Poison Pearl, Yun Che's arrival is being delayed a little. It would take at least 2 hours for him to wake up.] The system answered.

Feng Xiluo furrowed his brows.

In the plot, Yun Che would wake up before his Grandpa Xiao Lei brings Doctor Situ back. But now, If he remained to be unconscious, would not his meeting with the female lead, get delayed?

On the other hand, he now had sufficient time in his hands to fly to the Floating Cloud City. With his upgraded Profound Floating Technique, If he chose to fly at his peak speed, it would no take long for him to reach there.

As a supposed Villain, he had to, of course, intercept the meeting between Yun Che and the other female leads.

Only then would he be able to reap the Supreme Points along with raising his Plot Armor value. He was actually quite in shortage of it.

As he made up his mind, Feng Xiluo soon left for the Divine Phoenix Hall where Feng Hengkong, his current father would be residing.

***

Divine Phoenix Main Hall.

It was the only spot in the Divine Phoenix Imperial Palace where no guards patrol the area. Even if their hearts were made of steel, they wouldn't actually dare to be lax!

It was because only the Emperor of the Divine Phoenix, a terrific existence, would reside in here.

With the emperor's cultivation base, there were almost a few who could land a scratch and almost little to none in all of the Profound Sky Continent willing to clash head-on and hope to survive the following day.

It would be a joke if he was actually protected by the guards instead.

For ordinary people, he was at the apex of mortality, an enormous unsurpassed existence etched in their minds.

A middle-aged man could be seen wearing a golden robe with a phoenix emblem embedded on it standing in the Divine Phoenix Main Hall and silently gazing at the Phoenix totem engraved on the wall.

He was, of course, Feng Hengkong, the Emperor of the Divine Phoenix Empire and also the sect master of the Phoenix Sect.

If not to maintain his superiority, he would not really have to pretend to appear as a middle-aged man.

Yet, his sword-like and starry eyes, couldn't really mask away, the heroic air around him. It was no wonder that he could make more than 500 wives serve him.

Truly, a life worthy to be envious of.

Feng Xiluo with steady steps entered the Hall as usual. With the set of memories imprinted in his mind, he didn't want to appear timid before Feng Hengkong and didn't try to lose his disposition at the least.

Looking at Feng Hengkong's silhouette, Feng Xiluo really wanted to sigh.

Even though he appeared to be wise, in the original plot, he had made a foolish move due to which the previous Feng Xiluo had to die under the Protagonist's hands. Even almost all of the Empire would be burnt to ashes if not for the timely arrival of Feng Xue'er.

But what was more unacceptable was that the instigator of the event was left unscathed. Feng Xiluo had to suffer a miserable end while Feng Hengkong could naturally live on under the protection of his daughter.

It was just too cruel!

Feng Hengkong felt Feng Xiluo's presence but he hadn't turned back and continued to stare at the Phoenix totem.

"Fourteenth Prince greets royal father!" Feng Xiluo greeted as he was supposed to.

Only then did Feng Hengkong turn his gaze away from the wall, to face Feng Xiluo and nodded in approval.

"Luo'er, Seems like you recently broke through to become a Throne. You're really worthy to be my Hengkong's son and the prince of our Empire." Feng Hengkong said, giving a light pat with pride.

Although Feng Xiluo was not the Crown Prince, his talent was actually something that Feng Hengkong was quite proud of. Naturally, he held Feng Xiluo in high regard only after his daughter Feng Xue'er.

They were the only ones that bring him happiness all the time.

Obviously, he would dote his daughter a little more than anyone else!

"Royal father, I would continue to diligently cultivate. But I have a request to ask of you." Feng Xiluo said.

Unlike his predecessor, he wasn't willing to be confined between the borders of the Divine Phoenix Empire. He had obvious matters he needed to attend to.

"What is it, Luo'er?" asked Feng Hengkong with raised eyebrows.

"Royal father, I have been only staying at Divine Phoenix Empire for most of my life. If Royal father agrees, I plan to make a visit to other Empires." Feng Xiluo answered.

"Luo'er, The other empires aren't worthy of our attention. Even when comparing to resources, they are more lacking than we do. It would not benefit you in any way. Are you... sure, you want to leave?" asked Feng Hengkong, obviously looking down on the other Empires.

"I am," replied Feng Xiluo.

"Then, Father wouldn't stop you." Feng Hengkong said albeit a little unwilling.

It was the first time his son wanted to make a request to him. He naturally knew that his son had been only after cultivation and battles. If not that Feng Xiluo wouldn't really want to meet him. So, when Feng Xiluo chose to ask for a favor, Feng Hengkong readily agreed.

Feng Xiluo then excused himself from the Hall and returned back to his room.

After a short while, completing all the preparations and storing whatever he would need later during his little journey, in the Storage Ring, he was ready to set off for Floating Cloud City.

Without further ado, his figure instantly shot into the air.

***

Divine Phoenix Hall.

Taking a look at the diminishing figure of his son, Feng Hengkong crinkled his eyes and then sighed.

Feng Hengkong wanted to rest a little and turned back.

When he was mid-way, he felt a heavy suppression in his bloodline. It was a sign of the call from the Phoenix spirit.

Feng Hengkong rushed to the place where the Phoenix spirit was present.

As soon as he entered, he felt the towering presence of the Phoenix. A pair of mysterious eyes opened up in the pitch-black space. These two golden eyes were huge, yet long and narrow, the same shape as a human's eyes.

Although it looked majestic, if one paid a little attention, they could notice that its presence was comparatively not as vast as before and was only confined to the place.

Feng Hengkong kneeled on the floor paying his respect to the Divine Phoenix spirit, losing his previous bearing into thin air.

"My time to fade away isn't too long." A majestic soothing voice resounded in the ears of Feng Hengkong.

On hearing to the Divine Phoenix God, Feng Hengkong's head slumped down a bit more in melancholy and he remained silent.

It was his biggest secret that he chose to bury in his heart all these years. He had yet to reveal it to others. But now, his deepest fear has come true.

"We need to hasten the inheritance." continued the Phoenix.

"B-But, Xue'er isn't ready yet.." Feng Hengkong replied gloomily.

"I know. I found a more worthy person to become my complete inheritor." said the Phoenix.

Feng Hengkong froze.

He heavily doted Feng Xue'er not only because she was adorable and dazzling but because she was chosen to inherit the complete bloodline of the Phoenix which brought him immeasurable joy. But, now when the Divine Phoenix God herself didn't want her to inherit her legacy, he didn't know what to do.

"It is your son, Feng Xiluo." continued the Phoenix, not waiting for Feng Hengkong to ask himself.

"Luo'er?!"
