8 Chapter 8- Royal Tournament

Thinking that this information should be interesting, very interesting, Xu Feng stayed seated. Soon the annoying and indifferent princess, spotted him seated at a distance. Immediately, she completely ignored him and sat at the far end of the restaurant. Then she chatted with her maid about the royal tournament and how the top ten winners would have the chance to enter one of those big sects. hearing this Xu Feng was surprised, as sects usually don't go searching for geniuses in backwater kingdoms. This could mean various thing: 1: They had some sort of conflict and want new blood to fill in the gaps 2: They were in desperate need of geniuses, for example to explore ruins or get inheritances. Such places have an age limit, so people surpassing a certain age can't gain anything.

This information greatly peaked his interest. After all the current resources needed for him to advance were ridiculously high, even higher than his previous life, but Xu Feng wasn't worried, if he manages to join a sect, after gaining some reputation and respect, he could swindle all their treasury and leave. Heck if he was strong enough, or showed great talent, these idiots would bootlick him and offer resources free of charge! It was quite a comical scene, subconsciously causing Xu Feng to smile. After that he silently left the restaurant, heading back to the inn he was staying at.

Little did he know the reason for her extreme reaction. The maid that followed her isn't actually a maid, it's actually the young daughter of the second most prominent family - The Jie family. They were a bunch of alchemists, supplying all of the families in the imperial city with pills. Naturally as was the patriarch's only daughter - Liqui Jie- she normally had numerous pursuers. Normally, this child hood friend of her's was just as cold and indifferent as she was, but ow she had glanced at a man with curious eyes full of interest. To the princess, this was like the skies falling down.

Then with a questioning tone, the princess asked: " What makes you stare at him? I knows he's pretty and all, but he's just that, nothing special, actually he's just one of those rich young master that shows off."

To her friend's question, Liqui Jie calmly replied: "you're wrong, since the time we've been here, he hasn't even glanced at us, not even once, not until i stared at him,not only that but he completely ignored the flirtatious glances various beautiful women sent him... this man doesn't seem to be as lustful as you imagine him to be... since we've been here all the males glanced at us with those disgusting eyes, but when he turned around what I saw in his look was disdain, pride and a bearing of a emperor, even your father the emperor doesn't have as much disdain as he does within his eyes.
