6 Chapter 6- Laws of Reincarnation

The carriage bumped into many rocks on the path to the Inkstone city. Inside the carriage, could be seen eight people, among them was four burly men with long swords strapped on their back, an elegant and refined girl and her grandfather, a middle aged man with rich and vibrant clothes, presumably a merchant and finally, a young man in crimson robes, he had long dark black hair, skin that's smooth like that of a woman's, and eyes the colour of blood. His clothes complemented his crimson eyes, his every movement carried a unexplainable sense of elegant charm, his bearing was calm, eerily calm for a youth. This man was Xu Feng.

When travelling he was calm, instead of cultivating like the various other so called "genius idiots out there", Xu Feng simply enjoyed the ride. Whats the point of cultivation? To live forever, to forever enjoy life. So cultivating all the time is nothing more than a chain that binds cultivators from attaining freedom. To enjoy life is the point of cultivation, after all power is only needed to protect the joy one feels.

While the carriage was moving, it was uncomfortable, and the small girl cried of discomfort. The ten year old girl cried while the grandfather comforted her. He gently caressed the girls face, then kissed her on the cheek saying:

"Xu'er wait for a few more days and grandpa will buy you all the candies you want"

"Really, you promise?"

"Of course, Xu'er"

Then on the girl's face blossomed a smile so full of joy, of happiness and love. She then kissed her grandfather on the cheek, and said thank you. Watching this, something inside Xu Feng hurt. He often wished he had parents, but his wish was never fulfilled. In his past life, he didn't even know who his parent's were, he walked upon a lonely path. Such a path is devoid of love.

He often times wondered if he would've become a different person if he had parents. He often wondered why they had died, why he was left alone in this world, in the end even after thousands of years of wonder, Xu Feng never found an answer. Gods aren't invincible or else he wouldn't have died. He once thought life and death was the start and end, he comprehended the laws of life and death to the highest degree, attaining full mastery over their power, that's why he was called the life and death god. Whoever he wanted to save, regardless of their condition, as long as they haven't truly died, he could grant them life in his life domain. He could kill anyone in his death domain.

But now, he realised that life isn't truly the start and that death isn't truly the end. Reincarnation changed all of his previous beliefs. Now he had finally found the answer to the question that had plagued him for all his life, What's the reason why I'm alive? Nothing, not one thing. Life isn't the start and death isn't the end, reincarnation is the connection that makes life and death meaningless, like everything else in the world it also has a cycle, birth, destruction and rebirth.

Unknowingly, Xu Feng had now opened a door that had been lost since ancient times. He had broken free of the shackles of the living realm. He had comprehended a tiny fraction, less than 1 billionth of the laws of reincarnation. Now Xu Feng applied it to other parts of his life and concluded many things among them the most important was : betrayal shouldn't be the end of trust.

Thousands of years later, he would reminisce about this moment, and about how this had forever changed his fate... giving him not only unimaginable power but also joy, the joy of living.

After a few days, on the horizon could be seen a massive city. It had majestic black walls, imposing guards on the edges, numerous watch posts and an aura of serenity. The carriage soon stopped and the members all arrived in front of the city gates.

On the entrance, there were numerous guards emitting the aura of grand circle of Qi Consolidation realm. And there was a long line of people who wanted to enter the city. Calmly, without any hints of surprise on his face, Xu Feng joined the back of the line, planning his future actions in the city.

He couldn't rob any of the major forces here, especially if the lowly guards at this place were already at the Qi consolidation realm, so he decided to buy the resources he needed until he was strong enough to rob them to the bone. Laughing evilly with a look of longing on his face, Xu Feng entered into the city after paying a sum of 100 silver coins. 1 gold coin is around 1000 silver coins so Xu Feng wasn't hurt paying this much when he had over 100,000 gold coins in his spatial ring.

Strolling into the city, Xu Feng first observed everything around him, and he learnt many things about this kingdom. The people here were prosperous, and many of the civilians are cultivators, the average strength being around the 5th realm of Qi Sensing. Soon he arrived in a relatively empty inn and hired a room for 1 month.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One month later.

Xu Feng had observed and gathered information about the world around him for the past month. His cultivation has also increased from the third(peak early) rank of Qi Sensing to the 9th rank(grand circle). Obviously, Xu Feng spent a lot on resources and herbs to attain this shocking level of improvement within a month. He had also learnt many things such as the various power houses in the imperial city, the relationships between them, he had a mental map of the entire city in his head, he knew all the places where valuable pills, weapons and other such items were sold. He observed the guards that work there, their shifts and their attitude, their strengths and weaknesses. Then he concluded that unless he had the strength of a Daitan expansion realm expert, he couldn't rob these big establishments. Unlike the easy pickings in Floating Cloud city, Inkstone city was the Imperial capital so the experts here are naturally of a higher calibre, all important stores have at least one Daitan expansion realm expert inside at all times. Some of the less prominent stores however, are easy to rob in comparison.

Although Xu Feng had the soul force of a god, it was running out and he currently had no way to fix this issue until he reaches the Spirit Seeking realm. That's a long ways away, perhaps a one to two hundred years at best. Attacking stronger cultivators would increase the rate at which Xu Feng's soul force is decreasing. Xu Feng was no idiot, his soul force was currently his biggest trump card other than his strong body that's on par with peak Qi Consolidation realm experts. So he has to lay low for a few weeks before starting to steal resources.

Planning on what shops to steal once he breaks through the Qi Consolidation realm, Xu Feng fell asleep and slept soundly like an innocent teenager. From this image no one would link it to an all might god or a stinking sneaky thief.

The next day, Xu Feng went around the market and quickly found the best weapon's shop in the city. Then he entered inside the store. Around him was an aura of peace, a sense of tranquilly, in his eyes was arrogance, not at his strength but at his knowledge. Now that Xu Feng had done his research, had learned about his enemies, he was no longer afraid of anything in this city. He was in control. With his peaceful aura and arrogant eyes, crimson robes embroiled with gold, he was unimaginably attractive, causing the eyes of numerous girls to soften, and numerous men to flash with envy and admiration.

As soon as he had entered, a busty maid with decent facial feature was rushing to attend to him. Naturally this made him somewhat happy inside his heart, but outwardly, he still had an cold expression. She soon came over and asked:

"Dear young master, what are you looking to buy?"

In somewhat of a gentle voice, like an innocent teenager, he replied " A good, sharp sword the price doesn't matter."

Hearing this tone, the maid smiled alluringly and said "Please follow me"

Soon he was brought into a room full of swords, as he was following her into what seemed to be the best sharp swords in the store, his eyes quickly spotted something. It was a beautiful sword, around 3 feet long, it was deep blue in colour and sparkled like a swan among chicken. With his experience as a weapon forger, he could easily tell that the material this sword was made out of wasn't simple, it had a small trace of soul sealing metal inside it.

"Stop!" he said softly.

The maid stopped and Xu Feng continued " Whats the price of the blue sword over there?"
