23 Chapter 23 - Ruins (2)

Looking at the majestic gate in front of him, Xu Feng drew in a cold breath of air. The corners of his mouth raised to form an evil smile.

Laughing, he knew what kind of inhertiance this was. The strength of the person who left it behing was probably at the Minor Saint Realm based on the illusion and battle arrays in the entrance. Laughing, he looked towards his companions, and then, with a big grin, he went towards Liqui Jie and Jun Ling, then he said with a mysterious voice

" If you advance to the immortal realm, may we meet again if fate allows it..."

Ignoring the confusion in their eyes, he continued "When we meet again, don't disappoint me as I acknowledge the both of you, Liqui if you truly like me, then find me at the immortal realm, don't look shocked, my senses picked up the conversation you had with your friend, like I said, if fate allows it we will meet again, till then farewell..."

Leaving behind shocked companions, he then clenched his fists and punched towards Shui Nangong, killing her in front of the bewildered audience, then he turned around and smiled, laughing as he entered through the gates. For the first time, Liqui and Jun saw the true Xu Feng, a merciless yet loving man who deeply values relationships, a man who struggles to trust, a man that acts like a monarch.

Liqui, in somewhat of an angry tone asked "Why?"

"She tried to ruin my life and manipulate me, so I killed her, in the world of cultivation, either kill or be killed... if you can't kill then don't transverse on this path, it is unimaginably cruel, so cruel that somethimes you ask yourself why do I even bother? What's the point? In such times, I look at the stars and how they shine in the sky, I then remember my dream, to be like a star in the sky, so vibrant that no one can control or manipulate me, so strong that all others bow before me, so cruel that no one dares to use me, but in this life, I will also be kind, also trust, I learnt that from the both of you," Xu Feng said in a passionate voice, and smiled as he looked towards Liqui and Jun.

Such a smile was deep from the heart, a subconcious reaction rather than a forced one, so that day, under the light of the sun, his smooth skin, and arched lips, closed cresent shaped eyes, gave of such a strong feeling of peace, serenity, pride and confidence, that everyone who saw such a expression on his normally cold face, was deeply rooted in their spots due to shock. Asking themselves within their mind's "Can such a celestial like beauty even be a man?"

People are most attractive when they talk about their dreams, when they fully concentrate on something, and Xu Feng did that when he said these world of wisdom, the mysteriousness in his tone, the confidence and pride, gave him a godly aura...

A god must never be plotted against. The only result of such impertinence is death. Laughing like a drunk man, Xu Feng made his way through the fog at the enterance, entering into a illusion formation.

Inside, the illusion was a plane full of grass, the sun was shining above in the sky, giving a serene and peaceful aura, Xu Feng knew that he had entered an illusion array, a skilled one as well, orelse it wouldn't be capable of emulating the laws of heaven and earth within it. Taking a deep breath, he put his hand down on the ground, and used his auxiliary soul skill to see the array formation beneath him.

After calculating the formation's structure, his lips raised to form a smile. This was a old and ancient array diagram, from the era of the fallen gods, not may array masters, even in the god realm could understand such a profound and complex diagram, although it was made shabbily, and could be improved in many areas, for a brat at the minor saint realm, such an array could give the person who made it the title of genius.

Calmly, he walked towards the center of the array formation. As he neared the center, he saw a magnificant lake, with sparkling red water, and in the middle sat an old man with a fishing rod.

After a few moments the old man said "Why are you not bowing to a member of the older generation?"

"Arrogant!"

"How about this, if I find any mistakes I get the inheritance without any other tests, if I can't find any flaws you can have my life, sound fair?"

"As your just an shred of a soul, you can't even change the rules set by yourself, I'll accept..."

" To the north, the formation is bend slightly by 0.003 degress, causing a disturbance in the balance of yin and yang, weaking the array, to the south, the material used to make the yang aura of the array is wrong, instead of the Yang stone, you should've used the 9 sun stone for better results and

stability..."

"Sigh, some of the things you mentioned aren't even possible to do in the mortal realm....but since you have identified flaws, I'll let you go through"

"Ha! If it can't be done in the mortal realm, then just connect the heavenly laws to the immortal realm from the mortal realm, isn't it that easy?"

Xu Feng was then transported to a test of will where everything is real, where there are no illusions. His cultivation base was supressed to the peak of body refinement.

Seeing the 10 gates in front of him, he then waited patiently with the jade slip in his hands.

After a few hours, a beautifull women was transported next to him, it was Liqui Jie.

Seeing Xu Feng, she wore a complicated expression and frowned, seeing this, Xu Feng sighed and said " Girl, if you can't even stand some blood then just give up on cultivation.."

In a angered voice due to being called a girl when she was older than Xu Feng by 2 years, she said " What did Shui Nangong do to deserve this?"

"She tried to rape me and then marry me by threatening me using her grandfather, one of the grandelders in the sect..."

"........" Liqui was speechless, she couldn't believe that such a thing happened. As for Xu Feng, he was confused why he had answered her question, why he had explained himself, but then he soon threw that into the back of his maind thinking that it was due to her having good talent, and due to her being somewhat interesting.

After a while, Liqui then apologised "Sorry, I shouldn't have asked, it was none of my concern..."

Hearing this, Xu Feng coldly snorted and repllied " If you can't even trust someone you like then dont bother liking them..."

Saying this he then added " You're shallow, you don't truly like me, if you did you would understand I wouldn't kill unless someone has provoked me..." After, Xu Feng then moved away from Liqui and rested there whithout even sending her a single glance.

Seeing him behave like this, Liqui just laughed lighly and said in a cold toe"How am I ment to understand you if you barely talk to me... and I just like your attitude, it's not like I really like you or anything your know..."

Xu Feng had no reaction to her words and just meditated like a monk. Looking at him ignoring her, Liqui grew angry and snorted before turning away.

Xu Feng found this to be weird, as his auxiliary soul skill didn't pick up any lie in what Liqui said, but he believed 2 years is enough to at least understand someone isn't a bloodthirsty monster, causing him to be confused. Then he wondered if what Liqui said was really true, causing him to frown...
