Ghosts can only be killed by magicians, and even magicians have to burn their life with enough mana to kill even a normal ghost, while this could be done only by a high-mage, while a ghost lord can only be killed by an arch-magician, with great difficulty.

And never had their been someone who killed ghost king, as even a magus, those who stood on the top of magic and magicians, burned his whole life force but was not able to kill the ghost king, when a ghost king invaded the chalises kingdom royal place.

And thus such heavy-handed methods were employed by magic-council, even destroying Alexey family.

Adam's POV:

What no one knew was, that due to extreme shock and anger while dying, the unbearable pain of losing his idol Adam not only turned into a ghost but also into something more.

The pain made him reach another level he transcended any law of this plane into higher lifeform, becoming a ghost of an even higher level than ghost king, that is the ghost emperor.

Not only did Adam turn into a ghost emperor, but he also had all his memory intact, with even higher and more precise calculation and analysis ability. Even his sensitivity to mana increased to such a point that mana practically flowed through his body, but he could not store the mana in his body.

One thing that Adam learned in the last two days, was that he was now a ghost king.
