As the Knight turned to leave, his footsteps grew fainter in the dimly lit Grand Hall, leaving behind the lifeless figure of the Duke, who remained motionless.
The Knight made his way back through the desolate halls of the Duke's Palace, but an overwhelming sense of unease lingered within him.
It wasn't until he had finally exited the Palace that he felt a slight wave of relief. Unable to resist, he cast a backward glance at the imposing structure, wondering why he had experienced such fear within its walls.
When he was inside, all he wanted to do was just get out of that place, feeling nauseated.
Being a proud Knight, he found it confusing to feel such fear, especially considering that he was confronted by a weak Duke who didn't even demand respect amongst his own citizens.
