7 Daiyu

As the three of them came back in they saw their parents discussing about the tools they brought upstairs and the things they did.

"Atlas, your knife it gives you two extra strength, right?" His dad asked as they walked in.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Most of the other things don't have stats like that your knife and this handgun. Also, now that I see them their bows have stats too," he replied.

Even though they had a hard time feeling the increase, when he used the knife and the point he put into strength there was a notable difference.

After spending some time talking about their plans and what they needed to do they decided to rest. It was already late at night and it had been an extremely stress filled day.

As everyone went to sleep, Atlas was struggling to fall asleep. He was nervous about what could possibly happen in the night. Wondering what to do he pulled out his phone.

'I should text them; I don't know if they are fine after all this.'

Atlas was already on the last year of his degree and had just a couple close friends. Looking at his contacts he saw the name Daiyu. Clicking on the name his heart skipped a beat as he texted in a hurry, "Babe, are you awake?" Getting an almost immediate reply: "yeah. Atlas did you see them too? The monsters?"

After having a back-and-forth conversation to two finally finished texting it brought a breath of relief to Atlas to know she was safe. Daiyu was Atlas' long-term girlfriend of almost four years now. She meant as much to him as his family and knowing she was safe was enough to give him peace of mind.

Looking back at his phone he texted a few other friends before drifting off to sleep.

Waking up at six in the morning Atlas, took a shower and cleaned himself before making a cup of coffee and breakfast for himself. By the time he was done both his parents and the twins were already awake. Turning on the television and putting on the news they realized things were still working even after last night.

These mysterious events brought with them the closing of non-essential jobs and programs and most places did not withstand substantial damage. Although there was a mass spawning of these creatures the damage was still controlled. There were some places that still took bad damage, like the hospital Grace worked at it had many casualties and damage to the building caused by numerous monsters being near there.

Scrolling through different channels they realized this was much bigger than they thought it wasn't just something happening locally or even just in this country. It happened worldwide; no place was left untouched. Even though the strength of the monsters were contained quickly in most of places there was still millions of deaths. Following this many places immediately started enforcing a curfew to prevent another massacre like this and protect the people. Such an event shocked the world and set it into a panic.

Atlas' dad was at the door putting on a pair of runners as he grabbed his car keys, "It's worse than I Thought. Well Atlas lets go; I don't know if this will happen again, but I want to be ready if it does."

He then looked past Atlas at the twins, "I set up the alarms last night, you will hear a sound inside anytime something that moves comes near. I know that they got rid of the monsters but if they missed any on something new comes I need you to protect your mom and sister."

After telling them he turned to Callista who was just waking up and gave her a quick hug before leaving with Atlas.

Driving to the supermarket they didn't encounter any monsters on the way there. Arriving, Atlas got out of the car and Sebastian watched as he kept looking around the parking lot as if he was searching for something.

As he turned to left, Atlas perked up and it looked like he found what he was looking for. "Daiyu!" He quickly took off as he saw a group of three standing by the carts talking.

When he called out the girl in front turned to him as her face quickly rose into a smile. "Atlas!" They both ran to meet halfway as they embraced and shared a quick kiss. "Daiyu are you ok?" He examined her with a panicked look on his face.

"Mhm, I was with my dad when it happened."

Atlas knew Mr. Zhang, he raised Daiyu all on his own and was a strict but kind man. Although the first time they meet was probably one of the scariest times of his life. When Mr.Zhang learnt he wanted to date his daughter the man decided to beat him. This was a beating like no other as, Mr. Zhang was a martial artist and a famous one at that. When he told Mr.Zhang his plans with his daughter he quickly engaged him. Knowing that she was with her dad made him breathe a sigh of relief.

Daiyu was a Chinese girl with long black hair. Her face had a dainty look to it with a small nose and thin lips, she had big brown eyes that went well with her hair. She was just over 5-foot 6-inches(170.7cm) tall. She had a small waistline and long toned legs, Daiyu was a track runner and it showed. She was well endowed in other aspects and just had a very sporty look. She was wearing a simple blouse and blue jeans.

As he looked up, he saw two of his closest friends standing behind her. Looking at them he couldn't help but have a silly looking grin come to his face.

"Atlas, my man, come here and dap me up!"

Atlas released Daiyu as he stepped towards his best friend.

Ige was an African American male who was even bigger than Atlas. They have been best friends since elementary school. He stood at 6-foot 3-inches (192cm) and was the textbook definition of a bodybuilder. He was wearing a black tank top that revealed his bulging biceps and chiseled triceps as well as his developed chest. He had very broad shoulders and a firm torso that melded into legs that screamed, "I DON'T SKIP LEG DAY!". He had short dreads that faded into a taper and a handsome and mature face.

"Hey Atlas!"

Beside him was Ava, she was the shortest of everyone here and she was clinging to Ige. Ava had long auburn hair that came a few inches past her shoulders. She had pale skin and almost gray eyes. She was a cute girl who the two had known since their teen years. She wasn't much of a sporty girl, but she was a business major and top of her class.

Atlas' dad walked over as he finished saying hi to his friends.

Daiyu was the first to see him as he came over, "Hey, Mr. Fox."

They shared their greetings as they went into the store. Although Atlas did text them to come here, they were also coming on their own for similar reasons as the father son duo.
