The city of Erebus sprawled like a dark, living entity, its twisted alleys and crumbling spires reaching toward the moon like skeletal fingers. Amidst this foreboding landscape, a lone figure emerged from the shadows.

A young orphan named Elian struggled to make a name for himself.

Elian, 17, with unruly black hair and piercing green eyes, had grown up on Erebus' unforgiving streets. Orphaned at a young age, he had learned to rely on his wits and fists to survive.

As he navigated the crowded marketplaces, Elian's gaze lingered on the city's mercenaries – skilled warriors who sold their services to the highest bidder. He longed to join their ranks, to earn a living and build a reputation.

But becoming a mercenary wasn't easy. Elian needed training, experience, and connections.

"Elian, you're still too green," said Ryker, a grizzled mercenary who had taken Elian under his wing. "You need to prove yourself, kid."

Elian nodded, determination burning within him. He would do whatever it took to succeed.

As he walked, a hooded figure approached him.

"Elian, we have a job for you," the figure whispered, their voice barely audible above the city's din. "Meet us at the Black Swan tavern, tonight, under the light of the blood moon."

Elian's heart skipped a beat. Was this his chance to prove himself?
