Ch. 5 Headons Floor

( Third Pov )

" My Lady! My lady! What are you trying to do on the first floor!?"

" My lady!... would you please answer me!"

" An irregular has stepped into the tower!!" The woman known as Lady Yuri replied to the short man.

" Whaaat?! Are you sure?!"

" Yeah! Someone really did open the door!"

The two descended down to the first floor as they saw Bam and Zero.

" Look! Over there!"

" Oh! W..where?!"

" Hehe... you really wanted to see too, huh?"

" Well, since we are here..."

" Hmph... he doesn't look special at all... I thought he would be a monster, like Urek."

" Uhm, there's another one as well." The short man, Evan, pointed at the other Irregular.

" Oh yeah... he looks mysterious..."

" Mhm." Evan nodded as they both stared at the silver eyes young man who had a sword rested on his shoulder.

" He gets some scars... do you think he's a warrior?"

" I don't know."

" Do you think they have special powers? Maybe he'll metamorphosis out of nowhere.."

" Hmm... the first one looks agile, but his body is small, and he doesn't look like a cross hybrid. And the second one... his large build tells he's strong, and he seems to wield a sword..."

" But I don't feel the unusual strength that I felt from the previous irregulars. They look ordinary." Evan concluded.

" What?! Really?!" Lady Yuri shouted.

They both argued for a while before seeing the ball.

" Ismt that the white steel eel? Something that is strong is usually used on tests above the 20th floor... is it to make him give up?" Evan asked

" Headon doesn't like irregulars when they arrive. So maybe he's trying to make them give up."

" Even if they both take the test or not, there is no chance for them to make it into the inner tower. Even if they take the test, they'll eventually die."

" Poor kids, we should give them a hand."

" What?! W-why should we?!" Evan shouted.

" For excitement. Irregulars have always brought chaos to the tower." Lady Yuri replied.

Evan started shouting at Yuri before noticing Bam walking forward.

" Waaat?! Why... why is he running?! Why are you running?!"

" Hmm?" Yuri noticed the second boy grabbing Bam.

" This is fun." Yuri smiled as she saw Zero taking a step in front of Bam.

" Wait?! Lady Yuri?!" Evan shouted in surprise as Yuri jumped down and put her foot on Bams face.

" Eh?" But she was as soon surprise when Zero caught her with his quick reflexes.

Zero put her down as she gathered her bearings.

" You two, do you have a deathwish?" Yuri pointed at Bam and Zero, who helped Bam to his feet.

( Zero's Pov )

' Who is this woman. And why can't I understand her?' I thought for a second before realizing she was using a different language than us.

I saw the woman turn towards Headon as they both started talking.

She then started shouting above us as I wondered who she's yelling at.

A short man jumped down as he talked with Headon.

He then pulled out one single marble as he looked at the two of us.

' Hmm. That must be some translator. It's best if Bam uses it. I'm sure I'll be able to learn the language through the system.

[ Ding! Be the first to pass Headkns floor! ]

[ Rewards: 120xp, one weapon upgrade ticket, and one new skill. ]

Bam looked at me, and before he opened his mouth, I passed him.

" You can take it." I said, which causes Bam to look at me in gratitude.

I walked in front of the large fishs cage.

" Hold on." Before I could enter, Headon stopped me with his staff.

" I never got to ask. But how did you get here?"

" Freedom." I muttered as I passed through the cage bars.

" Hey! Why didn't you let him through?!!" The woman shouted as I still couldn't rundersrand what she said.

" Hm? Well, he's taking the test."

I ran towards the back ball as I heard the fish swimming above me.

The fish turned around as it tried to eat me as I quickly dodged and kept moving towards the ball.

Once I got close, I used [ Thrust ] on the ball, but the ball didn't pop.

' That bastard!!!' I looked behind me to see Headon grinning ear to ear.

I activated my sharing and dodged the large fish.

As its fins passed by me, I used my sword to cut along its scales.

' I need something stronger!!' Thought as I ran up the fishs body as it moved frantically.

I focused my telekinesis on my sword as a silver hue covered it.

I jumped off the fish and spun my body downwards.

[ Brutal cleave ]

Clank!!

I managed to cut into the ball, but it wasn't enough.

The fish was turning around as it quickly swam towards me.

" Fuck!" I gripped my sword and instead of telekinesis I focused all my mana on the blade of the sword.

" Come on!!" I shouted as I saw the sword moving little by little.

I pointed my hand at the blade and forced it through with telekinesis.

Shuaa!!

The ball was finally cut in half as I felt my body being consumed by the black ooze from the ball.

' The fuck!!'

( Yuri Pov )

" He... he disappeared..." I muttered as I looked at Headon.

" You bastard... what is that ball made of?" I asked Headon who only smiled.

" Well. It's a really well made ball." He smiled.

I clicked my tongue as I looked at Bam, I knew he would have to face the same test as the kid before him.

' Maybe black March could help.' I thought.

" like I said before. It's a really well made ball." He grinned.

I looked back at Bam to see him struggling to peirce the ball.

' Come on! The other boy managed to peirce it with an ordinary sword, but black March can't!?'

But soon, like Evan predicted, the Black March ignited.

"So it was sexism!!" I shouted at the damn woman.

And it take long for Bam to disappear like the previous boy.

" Hey, where did you take them!?" I shouted at Headon.

" To wherever they wished." Headon replied.

" what is on your mind?"

" I only test those who wish to climb the tower." Headon replied.

" Let's go Evan, we need to find Bam." I spoke as j realized Bam took the Black March with him.

" ahh! Yes my lady." Evan replied.

" Damn that rabbit! One day I'll pull his ears off!! How will I find that boy again?!" I shouted.

I noticed Evan was distracted.

" What are you thinking about?" I asked.

" No... it's just the boy..."

" The boy? What about him?"

" ..... iwas wondering if I was like him.... when I first got here." He replied.

" No, you look different." I replied as a awkward silence descended.

" Gosh!! Is it only guys' faces that you're interested in?" Evan shouted.

" Speaking of faces. The first boy was really good looking." I replied.

" Ugh. Was it the eyes or the scar?"

" I think both." I smiled.

" what was his name again?" I asked.

" If I remember correctly it was Zero."

" Yes! That's it!"

" Do you know the strange power he used?" I asked Evan who shook his head.

" No. I never seen anything like it. And his eyes... they looked scary."

" You saw that too huh?"

Evan nodded.

" I don't think Zero is his real name." Evan spoke.

" Oh? And why is that?" I asked.

" I don't know, he just seems mysterious is all. But I guess you can call it my gut feeling."

" Mysterious, huh..." The face of the boy resurfaced as I curious about him and his abilities.
