31 Ch. 31 10th Floor Pt. 2

( Ashborn Pov )

" So, where's the last time you heard of your mother?" I asked Yui as she walked in front of me looking at the various shops.

" Uhm. I heard she was here. Someone used to be in the same team as her said so." She replied.

" Is that so, well hopefully we'll find her." I said which Yui nodded in agreement.

" What's that place?" She pointed at the crowded road.

" Uhm... I think that's the red light district." I tilted my head as I remembered Zero's teaching to enter this place.

" It's best we go around." I looked at Yui only to see her gone.

" Yui?" I looked around and activated my sharingan to see her running into the red light district.

" Mom!!" I heard Yui shouting in the distance.

" Yui!" I ran into the red light district pushing anyone that got in my way.

I lost Yui as i tried to search for again.

" Hey, boy. You look stressed. Do you want me to help?" A Courtasan walked up to me.

" No thanks." I replied as I passed an alleyway but heard someone whimpering. I looked to see Yui sitting over a woman.

" Yui..." I walked behind her to see a woman that looked like Yui. She had bruises over her body as she held Yui in her arms. Her breath is starting to shorten.

' She was drugged... an overdose.' I put my hand on the woman's arm as she jolted but relaxed when I inserted mana into her.

It was too late to heal her, but it didn't mean I couldn't lessen the pain.

In that moment, I wondered if Zero felt the same way I felt when I mourned Elizabeth's death.

Did he feel awkward and useless as well? Did he wished he came here faster? I didn't know, but I knew this girl was now alone.

It didn't take long for Yui's mother to pass after whispering into Yui's ear.

" Mom? Mom!... mom..."

I had to look away, I didn't want to hear her cry, but I had to man up and comfort her. I gathered my resolve and patted her shoulder.

" Yui, let's take your mother out of here." I said.

Yui didn't reply but slightly nodded her head.

I used my jacket to cover Yui's mother body and carried her out of the red light district. We didn't know where to bury her, but Yui said her mother loved gardens.

I buried her in the garden of lilies, Yui held my hand as she said her goodbyes with a teary face.

I never expected this to happen. It was getting dark, as we looked for a place to stay.

Yui was silent as we booked two rooms at a hotel.

I sighed as I sat down by the window and held my head in my hands.

( Yui Pov )

I snuck out of the room and went back outside to find the man that did this, I still remember his scent.

I only cared about finding this man as it led me back to the street where I found my mother.

I walked into a building and stood in front of a table with a man holding another woman in his arms.

" Huh? The fuc...!! Klukk!!" My claws found its way into his stomach as I continued attacking him.

( Ashborn Pov )

I looked out the window to see someone outside entering the hotel.

" Shit. They must've found me." I muttered as I exited the room and knocked on Yui's door, but nothing as i relaixed it was silent as I opened the door.

" Yui?" I looked under the bed, the closet, and the bathroom to realize she snuck out.

" Goddamn it." I cursed as I heard footsteps outside. I quickly opened the window and jumped out onto the street.

' Where is she?' I thought as I ran down the street before coming across the red light district.

I quickly entered and tried to find her, but there seemed to be a lot more people during this time as I pushed them away as I tried to search for her.

It wasn't until I heard screaming and people rushing out of the building.

I quickly entered inside and saw a trail of dead bodies and blood leading up to the second floor.

I sighed and pulled my greatsword from my spatial bag before going up the stairs.

I saw Yui standing in the middle of the floor with a blank expression covered in blood. I slowly walked up to her as I saw she killed everyone inside.

" Yui, are you hurt?" I asked as I checked for any injuries but found none. She slightly nodded.

" Come on, let's leave this floor." I held her in my arms as I moved to the window to escape and run from the person that's following me.

I jumped down before running towards the other end of the floor to take the other shortcut.

Along the way, Yui fell asleep in my arms. Today was a mess.

A few hours later we arrived at the secrete path up to the 11th floor and this would be the last one since there is no secrete path to the 12th floor so we had to take the floors director test.

As we walked down the path, I felt my instincts warning me.

' Behind!' I swung my greatsword behind me but found myself flying back.

" Ah?" Yui woke up as she lifted her head from the floor.

" Jinsung..." I got up from the floor and saw my " Mentor. "

" Zero. Didn't expect you to climb so fast." He spoke as he stepped towards me.

I sighed and looked at my rewards. I used the upgrade ticket on my sword.

' I need everything I could use if I'm going to fight him. '

I accepted the rewards from the last two missions.

But before I could use them, I felt Jinsungs fist going through my body.

" Blek!!" He was too fast to see. I tried to swing my sword at him, but he easily flicked it away before breaking my arm.

I didn't bother to scream as he took his hand back from my body.

I fell to my knee, feeling myself getting weaker as [ Regeneration ] tried to heal my wound.

[ Ding! Adaptability activated! ]

Death was once again grasping my heart.

" A..Ash!!" Yui cried as Jinsung grabbed her. I clenched my teeth and rushed at Jinsung, who easily blocked my attack before punching through my chest.

I grabbed Yui and held her in my chest before Jinsung grabbed me by the throat.

" You really were talented. It's such a waste to lose a slayer candidate." He clenched his fist, crushing my throat, letting me fall from the path.

I used all my strength to protect Yui and guide the mana to my injuries.

Splat! I landed on a path as I couldn't feel my body.

" Ash!! Ash!" I heard Yui crying, holding my hands.

I didn't hear what she was saying as I concentrated on the mana in my body.

[ -150hp ]

[ +125hp ]

[ -150hp ]

The bleeding effect and healing were at battle.

But I was also losing and regaining consciousness as the pain kept me awake.

It wasn't until luck was on my side as I felt another hand. I looked to see a red-haired man helping.

[ +250hp ]

He poured an unknown liquid on the wounds as he tried to help.

With a boost in Hp and him taking care of my stomach area, I focused on healing my throat.

I reached for my bag, but it was for away, and it seemed Yui understood that I needed it as she quickly brought it to my hand.

I brought out a potion, a blood-red potion.

[ Dragon's blood ]

[ + 1,250Hp ]

[ +1,250 Mp ]

[ 0.000010% chance inherenting a dragon gene. ]

With the extra Mana, Regeneration started to speed up.

Finally, the wounds started to close, but it would take a while to fully heal any and all injuries.
