1 Oasis

"This is unbelievable! I can't believe that there's another one!"

A white-haired man with little stature stood before the archaic huge door. His voice echoed across the hallway, as his face showed his emotion filled with shock and surprise.

"Hey Evan, this is not normal, right?"

The lady with black long hair, that was clipped with a red butterfly, asked the white-haired man who was Evan. They were both filled with shock and sense of premonition. The current scene before them wasn't normal.

The gate that stood before them, is the barrier that separated the Tower from the outside world. It is the single entity that marked the boundaries of both places. It was the starting point for the people who came from the outside world.

Usually, people who came from the outside wouldn't be able to open the door because it wouldn't budge. It would prevent them from climbing up the Tower. Only the chosen residents of the Tower can climb up the Tower, they are chosen by someone who deemed them rightful. These chosen few are called "Regulars."

However, there are a few rare cases where the people from the outside world can open the gigantic door. They might have fate tied to the Tower, or the Tower needed them for some reason. It was unexplainable how this mechanism worked, but those people who can open the door possesses remarkable abilities that can bring chaos or peace. They are the "Irregulars."

"Yes, Princess Yuri."

Evan nodded his head, as he felt a bit of muddleheaded. Within a single century, they can expect the appearance of a single Irregular, but two of them at the same century was simply rare. This can be called as a premonition of great change that might occur.

The two of them wasn't the only two who was surprised. The First Floor's Guardian, Headon was also surprised, as he appeared before the shuddering gigantic door. It was slowly showing signs of opening.

Headon appeared as a little white rabbit with only a black slit on his head. This specific slit acted as a medium where his mouth or eyes can appear. He had a special yellow stick that floated and endlessly rotated before him.

"Why are the Princess and the dwarf still here?"

Headon looked at Princess Yuri and Evan. Their presence at the first floor was uncalled for. People with high status like them shouldn't even be here, but Headon could understand their motives. Seeing an Irregular with their very eyes must be really exciting for them. The same applies for Headon, as he was and had always been interested in Irregulars.

He was a Guardian who was stationed at the First Floor. "Guardians" are existences within the Tower that can give tests to those who wanted to climb up the Tower. These tests will decide whether they can climb to the next floor or not.

Suddenly, the three of them sensed something amiss, as the gigantic door stopped showing signs of opening. They were confused by the sudden changes, as disappointment flashed within their faces.

"Could it be that we were wrong? It looks like someone attempted to open the door, but it seemed this attempt is a failure."

Princess Yuri shook her head, as she felt disappointment. She thought that she would be witnessing another Irregular enter the Tower. She was interested on what changes Irregulars would bring to the Tower, just like the Irregular she had just met.

"Evan, let's go. We have nothing to see here anymore."

"Are you sure, Princess?"

Evan looked at Princess Yuri who seemed impatient, as he wryly smiled and silently complained. He carried a heavy and big bag within his back. It looked weird because of his small stature, but he was able to easily carry it.

Princess Yuri and Evan walked away from the hovering Headon, who was still staring at the gigantic gate. They both felt confused, but ignored the Guardian. They had decided to go back and try to retrieve something from the Irregular who Princess Yuri and Evan had just met.

Headon stared at the gigantic and immobile gate. The black slit on his head showed his narrowed eyes. He felt something odd from the sudden change of the gate. He could feel that something will soon happen.

Suddenly, the whole hallway rumbled and shook, as if an earthquake had occurred. Princess Yuri and Evan stopped walking away, as their faces turned to shock. They both turned their heads around and looked at the gigantic door.

Headon hovered before the door with his eyes showing his surprise. Before their very eyes, the gigantic door instantly opened with a loud 'bang' and ripples of wind. An endless black world stretched before their eyes.

They couldn't see anything what lies beyond the door; however, the echoing footstep was evident in their ears. Someone was approaching them, and they could feel the air vibrating.

"The Shinsoo?!"

Princess Yuri sensed the energy around them vibrating under intense pressure. It was nothing to her, but someone who had just opened the door shouldn't already possess this much power. The pressure is immensely powerful for someone who had just entered the Tower. It was simply unusual!

"We have a monster among monsters here."

Headon whispered to himself, as the black slit on his face showed his smirk. He was interested to what kind of being would show this such scene. He had long guarded the First Floor, but it was his first experience to see something like this.

A young man with short black hair and azure-blue eyes entered their sight. He wore a simple set of clothes, a pair of t-shirt and pants. However, the gaze in his eyes carried the aura of an Emperor who had conquered everything.

As the three stood speechless, the young man stepped beyond the door. The gigantic door slowly closed and became motionless again. The vibrations in the air halted, as the atmosphere regained its calmness.

The young man stared at the three and the surroundings with interest and curiosity. A smile was present on his face, as his gaze sensed everything around him with perfect clarity and incredible detail. After inspecting the surroundings carefully, his gaze landed on the hovering Headon.

Headon chuckled, when he sensed the young man's gaze, as he floated down the ground. He slowly approached the young man without any fear. His gaze inspected the young man with the intention of seeing through him.

"I am Headon, First Floor's Guardian. What is your name, young man?"

The young man's stare hovered in Headon, as he inspected the white creature. He was intensely interested about the creature's origins. The young man looked as if he wanted to see through the creature, but he soon shook his head.

"My name is Lester Oasis."

Lester confidently stood before Headon, as he smiled freely. His entire being radiated with calmness and control. His gaze then swiftly landed on the other two; Princess Yuri and Evan. This gaze only remained for a few seconds before Lester retracted it back.

The three noticed his calmness and indifference. However, what they didn't noticed was the faint golden light within Lester's pair of eyes that seemed to read the three of them. It had a very profound and distinct atmosphere that no one could easily notice.

It was unknown what a single Irregular could bring to the Tower. But now, two of them had appeared at the same night. The first one had already started his journey, while the second one was still at the starting point. Who knows what kind of effect will Lester's presence will bring to this world? Will it be peace that will bring light to everyone, or chaos that will bring darkness and fear to everything?
