2 Chapter 2

Michael awoke again on a cold, damp cave floor. There were small torches lining the walls, bring some light to cave, but the cave was still very dark. There was a blinking light at the corner of Michael's vision, and everytime he tried to look at it, it was stay in the corner of his vision. Small words began to walk out from the light that read 'status window'.

"Status window?" Michael said, and a rectangle shaped window appeared before him. At the top of the window were three tabs, stats, skills, and shop. He pressed on the skills tab, and to no surprise, it was empty. When he pressed the stats window, he was alittle disappointed to see all his skills said 'D-', but he quickly brushed it off. Next, he pressed the shop tab, and it showed a long list of words to choose from. One of those words that caught his eye was 'skills' so he pressed that. A long list of skills appeared, but they were all grayed out. He noticed at the top right of his screen that there was a zero next to a coin symbol, as well as two different times. The times were only slightly off, with only a few hours difference. They had one word next to each time. The faster time had 'current' next to it, while the other had 'previous' next to it.

Suddenly, there was a growling sound coming from behind the status window. Michael exited the screens, to find a snarling wolf standing before him. He slowly crept forward, gnashing it's teeth, and pawing the ground with it's sharp claws. Michael stood up, hands in front of him, trying to calm the wolf down.

"Calm down little wolf, I don't want to hurt you." He said nervously, but the sword suddenly appeared in his hands. His nerves quickly subsided, and a grinned formed on his face. The wolf hadn't backed down. "Told you I didn't want to hurt you, big bad and ugly." The wolf lunged at him, but with swift movement, the wolf's head fell to the ground, followed by the rest of it's body. Michael looked down at his blade in amazement. "Whoa, when did I learn that? Well, I guess I need to collect it's blood. Do I just stab it in the heart like this?" He said as he stabbed into it's torso. The blood came rushing out, dancing up the blade as it siphoned it all up. By the time it finished, the wolf was a dry corpse.

A window appeared before him that said 'Congratulations, you've recieved two coins! Scavenge for items!' and then it quickly went away.

"Scavenge, huh?" He said as he looked at what was left of the wolf. He began ripping out it's fangs and removing it's claws. "Don't know how much I'm going to need these, but better safe than sorry." He stuffed the fangs and claws in his pockets, but as he turned around, he saw the many wolves standing there, fangs out. The slowly walked forward, hunched down as if ready to pounce. "Look, I just killed this one, I would really love to not do it... twenty more times?!" The twenty wolves continued move forward, gnashing and pawing at the ground. They surrounded him, and he moved slowly backwards. "Y'know, I think I'm just gonna go." He reached for the wall he came in from. The wall didn't react. He turned around to see no visible exit."Well, shit. I can't go back now?" The wolves began pouncing him, and he only dodged the by a hair. He kept dancing around, dodging each as they lunged at him. As one jumped directly in front of him, he swung his blade, and cut it in half. He began to go on the offensive. As each wolf lunged at him, more wolf extremities fell to the ground. By the end of it, he was standing amongst twenty wolf corpses, and a puddle of blood that seemed to be siphoned into his blade.

'Congratulations! You have recieved forty coins! Scavenge for items!'

"I'll pass." He said irritably. As the blood finished siphoning up, he turned toward where the wolves came from. There were three entrances. "Right to left, I guess." He then proceeded down the right path. The torches were becoming dimmer and dimmer as he walked down the path. He finally made it towards the end of the tunnel, to reach a slim path, which he could see the jagged walls almost touching each other. As he approached it, he could hear a faint snoring on the other side. After a few moments of consideration, he decided to scoot through. It was a surprise the wolves could come through this way. As he was reaching the end, the snoring grew louder, and there was a warm breeze. He made it out, but there wasn't any light. With another step, a dim light partially lit up the room from above, and a large, hairy, beast lay in front of him. It gently sniffed in it's sleep, and slowly awoke, it's red eyes opening to see Michael standing before it. It rose, standing at about ten feet tall. The name 'Kane the Ferocious Dire Wolf' floated above it's head.

"You must be a boss mob." Michael said with a slight uneasiness in his voice. "You can go back to sleep, I was just taking a look around, and hey, I looked around." He turned to leave, but Kane lunged at him, in which he barely rolled out of the way. His blade clutched firmly in his hand, he circled around as the beast turned to look at him with a snarl. It lunged once more, and he made contact with his blade, but it only made a small scratch on it's neck. "Well, this is going to suck."

Kane turned to him, and smacked him with his paw, leaving gashes on Michael's torso. Michael's breathing was heavy as blood poured out. His blade begun to shine brightly, and his blood began to flow in reverse, and his wounds healed rapidly. The wolf and Michael both looked in astonishment. Michael looked up with a grin.

"Just remember, I tried to leave you alone, big dog." He lunged forward, and they went at it, blood pouring from both of them. The wolf would swipe, and Michael would twist and turn, slashing at the wolf anywhere he could. Finally, as the wolf lunged at him, he dashed forward, sword out in front of him, and stabbed the wolf through it's open mouth. Kane let out a faint groan, before falling to the ground.

'Congratulations! You've recieved 200 coins and Kane's fang daggers! Scavenge for items!'

"Well, that's new. I actually got an item without having to tear the corpse to pieces." He said while his blade continued to siphon the blood. He ripped off Kane's claws and fangs. His stomach began to growl. He opened up his shop and selected the 'cooking' tab. It listed many cooking items and ingredients, but no proteins.

"What the hell am I suppose to do without any actual food?" He grunted with frustration, but then he looked at the wolf. He realized where his food would come from. He spent twenty coins, purchasing a skillet and stove top, along with a fire kit. He began cooking the wolf meat, with a few seasonings on top. He was anxious about actually eating the meat, but without any other choice, he took his first bite. It was like fireworks going off on his tastebuds. He had never had anything so delicious! He kept cooking and eating, and when he was full, he flopped onto the ground with a satisfied groan.

He opened his status window, and noticed the times. The current time had moved a few hours, but the previous time hadn't more than a minute. It didn't take long for him to realize, the current was whatever this world's time was, while the previous timer was from Earth.

"They probably haven't even shown up yet with help by now, let alone realize neither the undead freak or myself are even there anymore." He said with a sigh. "So I can't go back, and by the time anyone shows up here, I probably won't be anywhere near the entrance. Not to mention God knows what else is in this place. Looks like I'm on my own." He didn't say this with disappoint. On the contrary, he felt relief that he was stuck. Something was urging him to keep going, to venture forward and find more answers. Where does the end lead me? He thought to himself. He sat up, and looked at the small entrance he squeezed through. "Yeah, I think it's time to keep going." He squeezed back through, and walked back to where he came from. He then walked down the center path, which was much shorter.

He entered a wide area, and there was a crystal like surface that made up the room. It was incredibly smooth, surprisingly, for a cave wall. In the reflection of one of the walls, he good see a slimey substance dangling from the roof top. He turned to find the slime falling to the cave floor, rocks floating in it's belly, slowly breaking apart into dust. The slime wasn't very large, and he could see small slime particle all over the roof.

"Pass." Michael said before turning around. The slime let out a screeching sound from it's mouth, and all the particles above shot toward the slime. The slime grew larger and larger, and reached around to block the exit. "Hey, do none of you guys understand the word 'pass'? I'm not interested in playing with a ball of grease." The slime let out another screech, this time loud enough to get Michael to cover his ears. The slime swung a tentacle-like appendage at Michael. He ducked and sliced the tentacle off, but the tentacle immediately reattached to the main body. With each time a tentacle was sliced, it returned to the center body and multiplied. That's when he realized. This time, it dashed directly to the slime, and slashed into it's main body. The slime grabbed hold of Michael and swallowed him. The acidic nature of the slime immediately started dissolving his clothes and skin. He reached high with his left hand and finally grabbed it; the crystal floating at the top of the slime that seemed unfazed by the slime. He squeezed with all his might, his shouts of anguish drowned out by the slime's gelatin body. The crystal finally cracked, and the slime dissolved into a puddle, losing all of it's power.

'Congratulations! You've recieved 250 coins. You've recieved acidic coating.'

Michael jumped out of the slime puddle and fell to the ground, with only his weapon remaining of his possessions. He took long deep breathes as his body quickly regenerated, but suddenly, he stopped healing. The blade had run out of blood. Michael slipped into unconsciousness, as the energy consumed for the quick healing caught up to him.
