"Girl" in the Tower

"Help!" someone screamed as a knight on horse back snapped into attention. "Help! I'm trapped in this tower!" The knight directed his horse to the sound of the voice. As they neared the tower, the knight could see a long golden brown braid of hair pooling out of the window 40 feet up the tower.

"Fear not, maiden, I am coming!" the knight shouted and then proceeded to grab onto the braid and scale the looming tower. Suddenly, a roar echoed through the sky.

"Hurry," shouted the girl. "Before the dragon comes!" The knight swung his legs over the window and pulled herself into the tower. The knight swiftly pulled off her silver helmet to reveal two pale green eyes, heart shaped lips and long black hair tied in a pony tail. "You're a girl?" the girl questioned as she pulled her long braid back into the tower.

"Yeah. Got a problem?" the knight's eyes skimmed the room. The girl shrugged and said, "Well not unless you have a problem with me being a boy." The knight's eyes momentarily widened in surprise and then continued to survey the room.

" Not to pry, but I've got a few questions. Who are you? Why are you here? Why is your hair so long? And why are you wearing a dress?" The knight asked.

"Well, my name is Collin, I'm here because of a prior engagement with the dragon, my hair's long because I've been here for a while and I dont have anything to cut it with. And I'm not wearing a dress. It's a night gown and I dont have anything else to wear."

"I came searching for a girl in a tower named Conny with a prize of 50,000 jewel. A princess of the Quartz Kingdom. Unless you're that princess, I'm going to let you cut your hair with my sword then leave." The knight handed Collin his sword. Collin frowned and sawed off his hair.

"Well actually, my parents wanted me to be a girl so they keep on pretending I'm a princess and a childhood friend gave me the name Conny. My parents liked it so it stuck." Collin handed the sword back. A thundering roar sounded again and Collin sighed. "Time to go."
