1 al-faatiha ( the opening )

1:1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

1:2 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds,

((Allah SWT. called the rabb (Lord) of all the worlds because He is the One who has created, nurtured, educated, regulated, managed, provided sustenance, and so on to all of His creatures.))

1:3 The Beneficent, the Merciful,

1:4 Master of the Day of Judgment,

((Yaumid-dīn (Day of Judgment) is the day when humans will receive a reward for their good and bad deeds. That day is also called yaumul-qiyāmah (Doomsday), yaumul-ḥisāb (Recounting day), and so on.))

1:5 Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.

1:6 Show us the straight path,

((The straight path is the right way of life and in accordance with Islamic teachings contained in the Al-Qur'an and hadith.))

1:7 The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.
