5 Genin exam.

I arrived early in the morning to the old classroom that has been standing in this village since it was built. I honestly won't miss it as I haven't spent nearly as much time here as everyone else. This was more of a social hangout or napping place.

Iruka arrived and announced the names of the groups. Team 7 was announced to be the same as in canon and the the girls kicked up a fuss. Ino looked as if she was going to murder Sakura or possess her just to be on his team.

Team 8 was next, " Hinata Hyuga, Hana inuzuka, Toriko yūhi, meet your jounin instructor in training ground C". I smiled knowing I got the team mates I wanted. They were the people I interacted the best with outside of the ino shika cho. I knew they weren't on my team, I also knew that 3rd would not put naruto and sasuke on my team and naruto despises me and sasuke dislikes the fact he can't beat me.

Hana came up with her three pups; burumaru, chairomaru and pinkumaru. She chose three pups from different litters as she felt pity for them. Her mother tsume being the clan head or alpha makes all the decisions in the family. Her family is nice as the elders don't sway opinion and the only political rival is someone you have to fight. Also outsiders can challenge for the rite to lead however no one does as they can manage so many ninken barrages.

She latched onto my arm, "ya hear that toriko, were destined to be together". I gave a hearty laugh. "Birds of a feather flock together". She gets confused by my idioms which I find adorable. She Punches me and says "more mind games grrrr, never mind we should get Hina chan and head over".

I couldn't agree more, I scratched her ninken's ears which they like and so they would hop of me. I dusted down my outfit. It's similar to a jounin but a simpler overcoat instead of a vest that is dark red. I work a dark blue armour mesh under neath so my style in similar to anko's as it is easier to move this way. It also helps hide my markings so no one can tell I've activated them when I move.

We head over towards Hinata or as Hana calls her "hina-chan, come on we gotta go meet our sensei". Hana guides her from her seat as she looks down. I walk up and tap her shoulder. "Cheer up Hinata, I know you want on narutos team but think on the bright side. You get to team up with us and being on his team woulda distracted ya a lot so now you have more time to build up your confidence to confess".

She cracked a smile and instead of meekly replying like she did in canon she is slightly louder matching a normal persons volume. People might think Hinata is quiet but honestly it's just comparing her volume to other class mates. Sakura doesn't have a low volume setting and ino is combative towards her so she matches her volume. The other girls are loud to get sasuke's attention.

"Thank you Toriko-kun" I wave my finger "what's this kun business, we're friends and teammates now just call me toriko and call Hana by her name. We'll call you Hinata". That got her flustered but she nodded and smiled.

She's raised traditionally so she isn't used to informality. It's like it's brainwashed into her which is why she normally tries to be formal but I ain't having that. We made our way to the training ground and I instantly knew who the teacher was.

Hana sniffed and realised the same. From the boulder at the corner of the training ground a woman materialised from the rock. It's Kurenai wearing the same outfit in canon though she is slightly taller and more muscular in some areas. She's the same.

"So these are the genin, hope you weren't expecting someone else to teach you toriko?" She asked giving me a dangerous glint in her eye.

"Wouldn't dream of it nee-chan, you mind skipping the introductions. I know you've done a psyche eval of us beforehand." "No can do, it's tradition"

"I'll start, my name is Kurenai yūhi, I like red wine, training, trying new foods and spending time with my sibling preferably cooking. Things I don't like would be sneak attacks and getting stuck in lines at the market. My dreams for the future are to get stronger and protect my family. My hobbies are cooking, trying new foods and drinks and training". She the gestured towards Hana to start.

"My name is Hana inuzuka and those are my ninken pinkumaru, burumaur and chairomaru. I like meat, hanging out with toriko and playing with the pups in my clan. My dislikes are weaklings who don't try to improve and my dream for the future is to be the alpha of my clan and marry toriko. My hobbies are training, grooming my ninken and hunting for meat." Kurenai sizes her up about the marriage statement but blew it off because she's young. I can't say I wouldn't be interested in Hana but we're both young. Still 12-13 imma wait till shippiden till I start with her.

Hinata is next " my name is Hinata hyuga and I like a few things; training, botany, tea and ummmmm naruto(she whispered but everyone heard her). I dislike the way my branch clan is treated and someone ruining my plants. My dreams for the future are to become stronger to lead my clan and hopefully marry the person I like" she said while blushing. Kurenai gave a Cheshire smile towards her as she probably is going to help her get with naruto.

"My turn, names toriko yūhi. I like hanging with my friends and family and eating yummy stuff. I also love training and getting stronger. I hate people ruining my food or attacking my loved ones. My dreams for the future are to eat the tastiest things on the planet, I want to capture the eight tails to make takoyaki and calamari rings outta it. My hobbies are training, cooking, eating, hunting and creating new foods".

We all got to know each other and Kurenai told us to meet her at the memorial stone tomorrow evening before shunshing away. I sensed if she had truly left and spoke to my teammates.

"All right guys, tomorrow is going to be the bell test, I heard about it from some genin. Tomorrow we have to team up to get these bells off of neechan so here's the plan". I then spoke about my strategy.

The girls agreed and we went to meet up tomorrow. I went home and got a hearty dinner and then went to sleep. When I woke up I cooked breakfast and did some running and chakra control training. I can now water walk which is great. I also read up on some jutsu and practiced the one I need for tonight.

I went towards the site of the exam and made a shadow clone to head towards the girls while I used hide like a mole jutsu and made my way towards them carefully. Kurenai arrived and explained the exam and signalled to begin.

My clone rushed her and she used her own knife jutsu to pierce the clone popping it easily. She was surprised as she didn't know when I cast the jutsu. I then used my new jutsu that I learned on her. Head hunter Jutsu.

I grabbed her ankles and locked in with my superior grip and tugged her into the ground leaving only her head exposed. Hana then used fang over fang jutsu from four directions towards the head. Kurenai was panicked as she wasn't prepared for the team work this quickly.

She used flash step with her chakra markings in her legs but added fire nature to then to repulse herself upwards like iron man. As she dodged Hana midair and was looking for a place to land Hinata appeared.

I expected her to escape somehow so had Hinata on standby. Hinata unlike canon was skilled in water jutsu so she fired of scalding hot water bullet Jutsu. Kurenai grinned and reached for her sleeves and pulled out shuriken . She made a hand sign and threw them. They ignited in the air. I recognised this as Phoenix flower jutsu. They traded jutsu for jutsu dispersing each other.

As Kurenai landed I rushed towards her having left the ground the second she escaped. I used my flash step but added wind nature to add more speed rather than fire to get propulsion. I cocked my right arm back and my chakra markings glowed. As I was about to connect with her stomach I announced

6X kugi punch and drove it into her stomach. I also manuvered my left hand while she focusing on the punch to take it. It connected and sent her flying.

I heard the pounds coming from the direction she landed. As I am now I can throw six times easily and seven with a bit of charging. Eight if I stop and focus. Any higher and my arms get damaged. I've been raising my arm and leg training to get ready for future battles. I still can't perform leg versions because they aren't strong enough yet. I've been developing them so it's taken some time.

I looked towards Kurenai and saw a log smashed to bits instead. Substitution jutsu. She shunshin behind me and invoked her genjutsu.

The girls saw something horrifying for the first time. Behind Kurenai a woman with a dress made of leaves stood with her hands shaped like claws with bark patterns on her skin. Her hair was standing on end and began turning into twigs while the scelra of its eyes was black. It had a toothy grin like it was going to swallow me whole. I instantly knew what this was.

Her appetite demon. Her demon looks like a version of herself merged with her tree binding death genjutsu. She knows food fighter jutsu and is related to me meaning she has the potential to manifest one.

They only appear when we use the intimidation genjutsu like zabusa but ours are mutated as they physically manifest. Even without a doujutsu you can make out their outline behind us. And those who do have doujutsu well, kurenai said kakashi almost wet his pants when she used it on him during a spar for the first time.

I myself have three demons like toriko however only the red one manifest. The other three only appear when I cast my original genjutsu. Demonic illusion: demons feast. The victim sees the self on a plate being served to the demons. When they get pierced by the knife and fork they're dead.

Kurenai was confident in scaring me with her demon however that illusion shattered when she heard bell chimes. I raised my hand showing two bells and her demon vanished. She looked at her sash and saw four marks. Before I delivered my kugi punch i used my fork near her and tried to send it flying. It's still in its development stage but I've almost mastered flying fork and flying knife.

She looked at me surprised and asked "so who gets to pass then". Without flinching I tossed the bells in the air and swiped with my right hand splitting the bells and tossed them to me team mates.

"We all do" I said triumphantly. She chuckled and had an expression of proudness on her face " congratulations you three, you passed". We all cheered and Kurenai took us out for yakiniku.

We all had a good time partying the night away. I'm happy in this life.
