Several weeks passed without much thought. Though Aoi had tried several times to catch Bai while he was home, he'd found that the older male was rather busy. Not only had Bai been doing double shifts at work, he'd also some how ended up stuck on a night shift for a few weeks. Though both had still remained some what in contact through sticky notes left to the door. Aoi had found himself a bit lonely. He had never really thought that this feeling would be something he felt.

For as long as he could remember, he'd always been alone, so he hadn't really had the chance to feel the lack of missing something before. However, once he'd met Bai and started hanging out with him, even when it was only as a doctor and patient aspect, he'd started to have hope someone would always be there for him. Now that he wasn't able to see the male, he was a bit lost as to what to do. Sure he could just focus on his work, or find a game to play until the VR game was finally finished. However, he didn't really wish to deal with restarting a game only to put it aside to finish his own game.

Sitting in his room, Aoi curled up as he rested his chin on his knees, his arms wrapped around his legs. Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes, trying to clear his thoughts of negative emotions starting to swirl around. Since he hadn't been getting nightmares, and living relatively healthy, there was little Aoi had to worry about these days. He had a reliable job, finished college ahead of time, and was currently making his dream game. What more he had the best friend one could ever wish for! Not only had Bai been dealing with long and tiring hours at work, he'd still make the time to respond to Aoi's messages.

He was even working to clear up some time in order to join in on the game testing with him. So there really was no way to fault the male. He was doing everything right. Still, Aoi couldn't help but feel lonely. He wanted to spend more time with Bai, even if it were only to just say goodnight in person rather then through a sticky note. Such confusing thoughts caused Aoi to wonder if he was maybe sick again? He'd never held such feelings before. So he wasn't sure what he was feeling.

Forcing himself to get up, Aoi glanced at the clock, seeing that it was rather early in the morning. He'd some how managed to stay up way passed the bed time that had been set by his current doctor. Feeling some what guilty, Aoi slowly made his way to the door, his steps slow and quiet as he did his best to open the door to his apartment as silently as he could. Poking his head out, he glanced down the hall, his eyes moving around the edge where the elevator rested, waiting. When he heard the dull sound of the elevator reaching the floor, Aoi swallowed while watching Bai making his way out.

Keep himself as hidden as he could, he watched as the male dragged his tired self to his own door, reading the note before fumbling for his bag, grabbing a sticky note. Aoi watched as Bai made a response and began to make his way to Aoi's door. However before Bai could leave his own reply, the older male paused, finding himself staring at the young youth peeking out at him.

"You aren't asleep?" he asked, taken aback. Aoi blushed slightly, still partly hidden as he bit his lower lip. After gathering his emotions into check, Aoi peeked upwards. "I wanted to say goodnight in person." he said, his voice rather soft. Bai wasn't really sure if he heard correctly. His mind blank for a moment before he realized what was happening, he gave a small smile as he reached out, ruffling Aoi's hair as he shook his head slightly. "Alright, goodnight Aoi. I'm sorry that I haven't been able to hang out lately. The late night swings will be done after next week okay? Don't stay up so late again, its not healthy." Aoi nodded while giving his own smile, moving from his door to hug Bai.

The larger male was a bit surprised however gave a hug in return, before Aoi scurried back to his room, rushing with his goodbyes and closing the door. The adorable action only made Bai sigh as he laughed to himself, tiredly making his way back to his own apartment to get much needed sleep. Sweet lingering feelings remained in the air, causing both parties to fall asleep without any negative thoughts.
