"Elizabeth?!"

The girl's head snapped up, silenced the boy with a glare before her eyes slowly widened.

Carlos furrowed his eyebrows and approached her.

Elizabeth Claremont was one of the few people that he remembered amongst his new group of friends.

She was very quiet, but everyone, regardless of gender, age, or status, tried their best to be on good terms with her.

That was pretty much expected, though, considering her astonishingly good lucks. Her luscious strawberry blond hair that was in neat curls, bedazzling azure eyes, and refined facial features attracted all. Everyone that knew of her would agree that this girl is most likely the prettiest in the school.

In addition, her grades were number one in the grade, receiving the love of the teachers too!

Even Cassian, the cool and mature type, grew dazed whenever someone mentioned Elizabeth.

But the straight-A student hadn't come to school today.

"What are you doing out here?" Carlos approached and stood in front of the girl. His voice was an inaudible whisper.

Elizabeth didn't reply and looked away. She pulled at her hair and covered her face.

But it was too late. Carlos had seen. He widened his eyes.

The girl's eyes seemed to be red and puffy as if she had recently cried.

Suddenly, the boy realized that not only was her expression not right, but her usually neat hair also was messy, and her uniform was disheveled too.

What…?

Just as Carlos was about to ask what had happened, he suddenly heard a bout of laughter coming from inside the classroom.

He hesitated, before turning his gaze away from Elizabeth and focusing his attention on what was behind the door.

Coincidentally, his group of friends was sitting near the door and talking pretty loudly, so after careful filtering, the boy could hear what they were saying.

This… Carlos could hardly believe his ears.

"Hah! If it weren't for that kid's family name, I wouldn't even want him as my errand boy!"

This led to another bout of laughter.

W-Who were they talking about? Carlos had a bad premonition.

"He's so incompetent! He can't even do simple, like six grade – no, more like elementary school math!"

"Yeah, yeah! He's also so naïve. Blurting out his family history and his secrets just because we told him we were his friends! Pfft."

"Exactly! How dare he share the same first 2 letters of his name with Cassian? They're on COMPLETELY different levels."

"But like, the name 'Carlos' already sounds lame enough, if it were too lame, then General Rochester would be too ashamed to bring his son out!"

Carlos was stunned. T-They… They were talking about me? W-Why? What did I do? Weren't we…

"SILENCE!" A cool male voice instantly ended the trash talking.

The young boy's eyes lit up. Perhaps he couldn't immediately recognize the other voices, but this one he could still recognize. Cassian! I knew it! Cassian and I are still…

"Speak about that worthless kid all you want, but don't carelessly bring General Rochester into this. He is someone worthy of my respect," the voice continued.

… friends. Carlos finished his inner thoughts. W-Weren't we friends?

"O-Of course! Damn, sorry, Boss. Got a bit carried away…" There was an awkward chuckle.

"Um… Hey, why is the trash taking so long? I'm really hungry now…"

"True. It turns out that guy doesn't even know how to run errands, really a disappointment!"

Carlos curled his hands into fists.

"Just like the other blond one! That whore who is shameless enough to reject our Boss."

"If it weren't for Boss' amiability, she would never have a chance to join such an elite community (this kid is referring to their friend circle)!"

"Who knows what filthy things she did to help her father's trash of a company rise so quickly?" Someone snickered.

"Whore!"

Carlos' hands trembled with anger. He stepped forward to open the door, but a pale hand held him back.

The boy looked back to see Elizabeth shaking her head, mouthing to him to not do anything rash.

He furrowed his eyebrows in incomprehension and pulled away, but he decided to comply for a little while more.

And suddenly, there was silence in the classroom.

"Ah… I'm so sorry, Boss… I shouldn't have cursed her so much… I-I just felt upset that someone as noble as you have to deal with such an arrogant social climber like her!"

"Well, uh, let's talk about something interesting that I remembered hearing from Carlos."

"What? Spill it!" They nagged at the kid.

"Hehe. I heard that he has a super hot bodyguard!"

"Bro, so what?" The fascination in their voices clearly faded.

"Hey, just hear me out. Apparently, that bodyguard chick calls the Rochester kid 'master' and obeys his every word!"

There was a snicker.

The guy continued. "And I've seen that chick! The trash kid described her as having different colored eyes, one yellow, and one purple. So one time, I saw a girl that looked a few years older than us, probs three years, that matched the description sitting in Carlos' mech!"

"How did she look?"

"Oh, damn. She looked sooooo pretty. I would say around the same level as Elizabeth!"

"Yo, but really dude?"

"Really. But she wasn't really my type; she looked like she was from Country E or one of those un-named countries. But she looked damn pretty. Maybe one of you guys could fu*ck her or something. That trashy Rochester kid sounded sooo fond of her, I bet if you took her away, he would go berserk! Kakakaka."

"Lol! I'm kinda curious now! Heh—"

"SHUT UP!"

Stunned, everyone cast their eyes to the classroom entrance.

The guy who hadn't finished speaking was a second late, and when he followed the direction the voice came from, he froze.
