Finding the Capitol
It's been a few days. I've discovered that magic exists in this world. It seems that if you understand a physical phenomenon and imagine it, you can make it happen for real. I discovered this almost immediately. I had facepalmed and KO'd myself. Eventually I got hungry and discovered that I could freeze the blood of animals to hunt them. Guess I'm a blood mage. My mom would be so proud. Maybe the devil has an eye for talent. Anyway, after a few days and having walked in more than a few circles, I stumbled out of the forest and saw...

Surprisingly, this wasn't the kind of city where the guards collect an entry toll. I'd always wondered about that in LN's. Cities require a constant influx of resources from the surrounding land. If you make it hard for people to bring in your food... well anyway, none of that here.
Anyway, I don't know how to act in this world, so I need to gather some intel first. I quickly slink off into the first alleyway I see. I guess the alleyways are in some form of network here, there's a sort of crossroad up ahead. As I round the corner...

With a look of abject speechlessness, I slowly raise my head off the wall. Yep, that's a girl being cornered by three burly dudes. According to the cliche, I need to step in and save her like a creepy stalker boy. I don't want to do that, though? Is there someone else to do it? I look around.
