9 Chapter 8 : Investigation

Eiji with a serious expression coming out of the Toju mansion under the eyes of the janitor who says goodbye and takes the keys before closing the door behind him.

Walking down the street, he took out of his pocket the phone Dewa gave him and dialed his number.

toot .... toot... toot..

"Hello, Eiji?"

"Dewa, I need information about animal spirits. Can you do some research for me?"

"Have you encountered a problem?"

"Yes, do the research I asked you to do, please focus on the words shadows, or mental manipulation, it should help you."

"Okay, anything else?"

"Give me the address of the client's brother's school."

"I'll text it to you."

Eiji cut the call and waited a moment before receiving an SMS from Dewa.

"It's a bit far but I should get there before the end of class."

Miyagi High School was a high school attended by the best students in Nakano, its entrance exam was one of the most difficult in Tokyo and its tuition fees one of the highest in all of Japan. The students who managed to get into this high school were either elite children or wealthy people children like Iwamoto.

It was a high school of about 5000m², with stylish buildings, a modern architectural construction, a large parking lot, at the entrance there was a large gate guarded by two men who watched the outside with attention.

Eiji, without attracting their attention, came from the other side of the building and ran toward the wall and then jumped up, but the wall was too high for a person to climb. But Eiji seemed to float in the air for a brief moment and then made a second jump that allowed him to land behind the wall.

He got up and wiped the sweat from his forehead and walked around the empty school yard, being careful to remain as discreet as possible.

Soon, he heard a ringing bell and within minutes, footsteps and conversation resounded in the yard as the students left their classes.

Eiji walked as naturally as possible under the curious gaze of the students, entered one of the buildings and stopped a student.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the senior B class is?"

The student nodded his head and looked strangely at Eiji before giving him the necessary directions.

Eiji thanked him, then climbed up a staircase, then crossed a long corridor before arriving in front of a class whose students were leaving the room with a sign on which was written Class 3 B.

"Excuse me, can I help you?"

Eiji turned around and saw behind him a young woman wearing a pair of glasses, with short black hair, a calm face with several documents in her hands and wearing a white lab coat.

"You are?"

"Sawada Shuncho, chemistry teacher of this class. "

Eiji then smiled and asked Sawada with a calm look.

"Can I ask you some questions, Miss Shuncho? This is very important to me."

"No you can't, visitors are not allowed outside of class hours, how did you get in?"

Eiji always smiled and asked to go to a quiet place to chat with her, and Sawada agreed suspiciously before taking her under the stairs on the ground floor.

"I am listening to you." She said as she took a cigarette out of her pocket, lit it before taking a puff of smoke.

"First of all, I secretly broke into the school please excuse me for that, secondly I'd like to ask you some questions about Iwamoto Tomiju."

When she heard Imawoto's name, she looked at Eiji with more attention and put out her cigarette.

"Entering private property without permission is illegal, I'll let the police escort you home."

Then she walked to the stairs without looking at Eiji.

"Miss Sawada, I was employed by the Tomiju family for this case, if he were to learn that you're obstructing my investigation, it could be misunderstood."

She then stopped and looked at Eiji for a moment and then returned to him lighting another cigarette.

"What are you investigating? This is just a suicide case and what evidence do you have to show me that you're hired by the Tomiju family."

"I don't need proof, since you didn't leave. That means you have doubts and those doubts are enough to make you answer my questions."
