Who Is She?

William

Just as I made up my mind to catch that girl whose scent affected me like this, I heard laughter and small giggles as I neared the kitchen.

I looked in and saw my mom laughing at something and the girl was rolling her eyes as she tried not to laugh. Then mom spotted me.

"William."

"Good morning, mom." I said as I made my way to her and gave her kiss on her cheek. I looked over her shoulder and saw that girl's back. She had turned away from me as soon as she noticed me.

"Good morning, honey," she replied. She saw my backpack which I dropped at the foot of my chair as I sat down at the counter stool.

"Are you going to school today?" she asked as she placed a plate infront of me. Then she placed bacon and sausages and eggs on it while I poured myself a cup of coffee.

I ate my breakfast as my mom started to talk about last night's party and about Jonathan's mate. All the while, she was talking, my eyes were fixed at the girl infront of me who never turned back to face me and just nodded at my mother when she asked for her opinion.

"Why doesn't she talk?" I said as I took a sip from my coffee.

My mom halted her gossip as she looked at me, "What? Who?"

"That girl," I said, nodded my head toward her. The girl stopped moving and went rigid.

My mom didn't say anything, just looked back and forth between the two of us.

"Who is she?"

"Are you serious? You never noticed her before?" she said in a surprised tone. I just shrugged my shoulders. My mom sighed dramatically and I couldn't help but sigh back. She was a drama queen. She was always so cheerful and goofy. Everyone was so jealous of me for having such a cool mom but believe me she'd embarassed me on alot of occasions.

But nevertheless, she's my mom and I loved her.

"So when did she joined the pack?" I asked as I recalled all the members who joined the pack a few months ago but I didn't see her that time.

"She is not new here, she has always been here," my mom answered again in an offended tone. She paused and looked at me as I couldn't avert my eyes from the girl, even though her back was facing me. But then my mom suddenly gasped which made me look at her in concern and just by lookong at my mom's face, I knew she was about lie.

"Oh no! I just remembered," she said, "Your father was calling me."

With that, she was gone, leaving me alone with that girl. I eyed her carefully as she resumed her work.

"Why don't you talk?" I said and she stopped working. But she still didn't face me which started to get on my nerves.

"Look at me," I ordered and she tried not to flinch but failed. She slowly turned and fully faced me, her eyes glued to the ground. She was wearing grey t-shirt with blue jeans. Her hair were tied up in a bun and she was wearing an apron as well.

"I said look at me."

She bit her bottom lip and lifted her eyes to meet mine. Just by looking in her eyes, my wolf felt uneasy. I ignored that feeling and cleared my throat.

"What's your name?"

She didn't say anything, she just averted her eyes and again fixed her gaze at floor. I felt anger boiling up in me. How dare she ignore me like that? I thought as my fists clenched.

But then she lifted her head and her eyes met mine as she said or whispered out, "Hope."

And just like that, my anger vanished into thin air. This girl was doing something to me and didn't know what but for some reason my wolf knew. He felt happy knowing her name. I couldn't ofcourse ask him because our wolves didn't talk to us in our heads. They were just there, like a spiritual presence. I could feel his emotions and what he wanted but thats just it.

"Hope..." I nodded.

"So Hope, why did you run away from me?" I mused and her face turned pale.

"I-I-I am sorry," she stuttered out. "I didn't m-mean to offend you, Alpha."

I was having a good time seeing her all nervous and scared for some reason. But my wolf again got a bit eneasy when she called me Alpha. I, on the other hand, didn't have any problems with her calling me an Alpha. Thats what who I was to her. She was below me in ranks and she'll always be that way. But my wolf, that bastard was again not being his usual self.

I could feel him growl and I tried to ignore it. Then I heard a pair of footsteps coming.

"Hey, good morning," Jonathan said cheerfully as he and his mate entered the kitchen.

I smiled at them as they made their way toward me. I stood up and hugged Jonathan, then I patted his back, "Congratulations, man."

"Thanks bro." He said and then he turned to his mate as he wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Will, meet Olivia," he said as he gestured between me and her and then back and forth, "Olivia meet William, my best friend and my Alpha."

Olivia smiled at me as she said, "Nice to meet you, Alpha William."

"The pleasure is mine and please call me William," I said to her as I returned her smile with my own. She nodded and then her eyes fixed on someone behind me.

"Good Morning, I m Olivia," she said sweetly with a smile and I turned my head to see Hope also smiling at her.

"Good Morning," she replied, "I'm Hope."

Olivia took a seat at the counter and started to make small talks with Hope. I felt Jon nudging me with his elbow to get my attention.

"Who is she?" he said curiously as he took a seat beside Olivia, "I have seen her before but I don't know who is she."

"You don't know her either right? And my mom was offended when I asked who she was." I scoffed as I also took my seat. Jon laughed at that and shook his head.

"You are going to school today?" he asked as he took a sip from his coffee. I nodded at him and saw Hope taking off her apron, as she cleaned her hands before tying her hair in ponytail.

"You are leaving?" Olivia said as she saw her leaving. Hope just smiled and nodded her head yes. I stared at her as she grabbed her one shoulder bag and disappeared round the corner.

"Something's odd about her..." I muttered as I took a sip of my coffee.

"Really? Why do you think so?" Jon asked. I shook my head and drained the cup empty as I picked up my backpack and left the kitchen to go to the school.

Today was really weird as I kept having this strange feeling in my chest. I just hoped that my wolf doesn't try to take control because of how he was feeling lately.

I sighed as I reached my car and drove off in the direction of the school.
