1 The Olympian Council

Several people of all kinds were seated around a table, some glaring at others, some amusing themselves with wine or by conversations with their neighbours, some simply gazed around with mild interest and happiness in their eyes, it was a lively place with a plethora of feelings.

It was the gathering of the representatives of the MNCs (Multinational Companies) that currently ruled the globe ever since most of the countries fell in the Third World war, leaving only a handful with barely any scratches. Governments collapsed, so did national boundaries. The entire world was now a single country with, well, Capital, as its capital and the MNCs took charge.

Once an year, they gather to discuss various things regarding the administration of the current world and its wellbeing. They named themselves the Olympian Council, sitting on the throne that once United Nations and the League of Nations before, were said to have sat in.

Except Chronos, who represented the Black Phoenix Conglomerate, none had even remotely greek sounding names. It was a pity as everyone made fun of him, saying he had the name of the sworn enemy of the very Olympian council he was a part of. (Kronos/Chronos, the titan, was the enemy of Zeus and the other Olympian gods, a pun on the Olympian council representing the Greek gods)

" Where is Chronos? he is never late to any meetings. " Bhaskar, the 'Lazy bones' spoke. " It is that time of year where he visits that unnamed grave, remember? " Amanda answered.
