District 13. Noon.

Kanaru was sitting on a long wooden chair watching many children play hide and seek in a large park. In the middle of that park was a 10-story building.

He was not alone, someone else was sitting next to him.

"I never thought this was possible in such a short time." Said a man with blue hair.

"It's all thanks to our efforts, Daigo-sensei." Kanaru said with a relaxed tone.

Kanaru was reading a little red-cover book. The words in that book appeared to be encrypted and were handwritten.

"Sorry to give you so much trouble." He added.

Daigo looked at him for a moment before shaking his head.

"Thanks to you we were able to expand this place and receive more children. Thanks to you, many more orphans have the opportunity to find a home outside of this city or start their studies here more easily." Daigo said.

Kanaru smiled a bit upon hearing it.

He focused on about 40 children in particular who were gathered in a secluded place. Ringo was also among them.

Those children talked to each other in low voices.

Daigo looked at them too.

"They have not been able to adapt well to the other children." Daigo said with a sad expression.

Kanaru was silent.

They were the remnant children of the Dark May Project. Many of those children were scattered in the city and Kanaru noticed that some remnants of that project turned assassins. He knew that this was due to Accelerator's unstable mental patterns, so he erased the memories related to any kind of death and subsequently healed them. Of course, there were 2 among them who killed for sheer pleasure, Kanaru simply eliminated them.

There were also many children who lived in precarious situations in the city, Kanaru took care of them for a few days in his secret base before bringing them here.

It's been almost a week since he rescued Ringo, he had been very active ever since.

"They'll adjust, just give them more time." Kanaru said.

Kanaru was unwilling to implant false memories in them. He preferred that everything flow normally with those children.

Even so, he was satisfied with these results.

"Sensei! Rena is using her water ability again! She has completely wet me! "

A green-haired boy appeared with soaked clothes.

Daigo smiled and got up. He said goodbye to Kanaru and walked away with the wet boy.

Kanaru continued reading the red book.

The children's laughter continued for a long time.

Suddenly Kanaru closed the little book and tucked it inside his black blazer.

He looked at his left palm.

"The light that will guide my path is the light that will burn my enemies…

…fire sphere."

Nothing happened.

Kanaru made a face.

"--- yjprBVQwt ---"

The words Kanaru said were indecipherable, but ...

A small red sphere-shaped flame appeared on Kanaru's palm.

"This hurts like hell."

Wounds appeared on his back that were immediately healed by a white aura that enveloped him.

The sphere of fire in Kanaru's palm disappeared.

He shook his head.

'The strange language that Accelerator used in our battle is difficult to decipher, but it is still useful if I use it with the knowledge that Sara taught me 'voluntarily'.'

'Even so... the power and damage my body receive isn't proportional so magic is useless for me at the moment.'

'I'm confused. But… it's still too early.'

"Isn't his ability very weak for his age, Hikari-sensei?"

Kanaru heard a childish voice.

Few days ago, the children started calling him 'sensei'.

He saw a red-haired boy.

"This is how you should do it!" The red-haired boy exclaimed.

A sphere of fire appeared on his right palm, although the size of that sphere was only slightly larger than the one Kanaru made.

"Your name is Atsui, right?" Kanaru said looking at the red-haired boy.

"Yes! The strongest fire esper!" Atsui exclaimed as he showed him his own sphere of fire.

Kanaru smiled a little.

But suddenly a yellow light enveloped Atsui, similar to a flash.

Atsui disappeared and in his place appeared a young woman with golden hair and eyes. She was dressed in a yellow dress and she was carrying a yellow umbrella in her hands.

Kanaru was a bit surprised to see her in this place, but shortly after his expression returned to normal.

"Hikari Kanaru, you committed a violation of our agreement, you have to come with me and bear the consequences." The young woman said with a serious tone.

She emitted yellow light from her body that engulfed Kanaru in the blink of an eye.

"Rika... I'm not interested in you." Kanaru said with a cold tone.

A dark light enveloped her yellow light and that light disappeared without the slightest resistance.

"You...!!"

After her light was consumed, she disappeared in a black flash.

Atsui reappeared from that same flash.

"What happened? I was in…" Atsui was confused.

He watched as Kanaru walked away from the park calmly.

"Atsui, come quickly!" One of his friends called him and he, still confused, approached his friend.

For some strange reason, no one other than him noticed what happened.
