CH 3 Monday

Just like any Mondays, Kez resumed her working mode. Eagerly, she arrived earlier and delved herself to the mountain of papers.

She can't deny that the break up affected her more than expected, she knew that things would end sooner or later but even if she had prepared herself for the heart break, she practically spent the whole weekend crying.

The last time she became this emotional and vulnerable was the time her Father died. And deciding to move on to her life, she craved for more work to drift her mind away from the pain.

Focusing to the tons of file in front Kez mind not of the things around, not even her secretary that came thru or fore to deliver more papers. Hours passed by and Kez remained focused only at work, but all of a sudden a familiar voice broke her momentum.

" Hey, it's 12:30 already, can we talk for a minute over lunch? "

Looking up, Kez saw Keito standing in front of her with a bored expression. The break up replayed in her head and she remained stupefied unknowing what to say or do.

" Hey !" Keito said snapping his finger in front of her. " I said, can we talk for a minute?"

Breaking from her trance Kez nodded, Keito turned around gesturing for Kez to follow him. Watching the back of the man she once adored, all the pain washed over her again. She knew him, 2 years were enough, for him to approach her this sudden, she could only guess he's up to something worse.

For the first time the thought of declining him came to her mind, she felt weak, and she doesn't know if she could bear any few more minutes with him. But then again she realized that maybe to lose ends, this day should be the last time she have to say yes to him.

Following Keito, they reached a fancy restaurant across the street. Ordering the usual meal they used to eat over lunch dates, both waste no necessary words to each other.

Another minute of deafening silence passed by and Keito decided to end everything swiftly, looking down to his plate while torturing the lasagne he said "Kez, I know that you're such a nice girl and I'm a bullshit for breaking up with you, but—" Keito then look Keziah in the eyes. " but, I need to ask a favor Kez. It's about the company at the west, someone is needed to watch over our branches there, and I know you'll understand. " 

Keziah trying to calm herself down could only clench her teeth and nod, deep inside she knew that this would eventually happen but to be this soon it sure hurts like hell.

" The board also voted for you to be the representative. " Keito said with ultimatum, not leaving any room for Kez to decline.

Disarray in thoughts from what she heard, Keziah only respond with a another nod. She has no more power to give any qualms, she already expected that sooner or later Keito will make a move to distance himself but she never knew that it will be so sudden and that he'll blatantly pushed her away. He doesn't even wait for me to move out myself. Kez laugh at her thoughts.

" Tomorrow at 7 pm will be your flight schedule, I'll send later the other details." Then Keito stood up and left.

Kez unable to hold her tears down, cried like a kid inside their fave restaurant.
