1 A Rainy Night in the Forest

Tap. Tap. Tap. A heavy flurry hovered over the tent with Jiang Ting. Interrupted from her sleep, the rain got Ting to prop herself up off from the sleeping bag as she sluggishly checks the time on her watch...

"1:45am..." A deep sigh escaped and frustration was painted over exhaustion. She was supposed to be camping with her best friend Wu Chunhua and her boyfriend Li Wei, but they had ditched her for a week long trip in Seoul, South Korea, leaving her in a vast forest all alone.

She threw herself back onto her sleeping bag and tried to coax herself into a catnap, but it proved to be a fruitless task. Her once neat bun grew into a tousled ponytail with every toss and turn she made, and patience for rest was running quite thin.

"Screw it, I'll just go outside," she muttered under her breath. It was really the only choice she had if she didn't want to lose her mind.

The cold and humid air pricked at Ting's skin as soon as the tent cover was opened. She put on a jacket and lit up a flashlight before stepping out, and the coldness began to spread down, causing her to shiver.

She sat down on one of the damp logs that encircled the eyesore of a fireplace in the center. Then, peering around for a bit, a coy hand lifted up a beer can from her jacket pocket.

"You know you're not supposed to be drinking alcohol in the forest, right?" A deep, elegant, yet warm, voice proclaimed. Ting glanced around once more to find who caught her red handed.

"But don't worry," he chuckled. "I won't tell the officials if you share a bit." He swiftly moved to where Ting was and sat down next to her. Startled by his sudden appearance, yet curiosity swept her anxiousness away. Clothed in a rugged appearance, which highlighted his jawline and warm eyes. He had a messenger bag strapped around his shoulder and what Ting believed to be a telescope.

Not having much of a choice whether or not to comply to his request, reluctant, she hands him the drink.
