The Next Beginning

First thing's first, the hooded man – now named Luxu – needs to find out what manner of world he's found himself in. Judging the fact that he's in an urban city with similarities to where he came from, he could be in a slice of life or something like that. Urban fantasy would also work too.

He cupped his chin, ruminating on the possibilities and contemplating how exactly he should go about discovering where he is. He then snapped his fingers as an epiphany came to him.

The quickest way is to just ask.

The ominously clothed man of above average height strolled up to a random civilian sitting on a bench and fiddling with his phone. The civilian noticed a shadow before the redhead opened his dry mouth.

"Excuse me," he started in a monotone voice. The man was slightly startled and looked up at Luxu, his face completely obscured by shadows. There was a slight tension in the air before the redhead continued.

"Do you know where I am? I just woke up and my head's still fuzzy." A minor sigh of relief escaped the other man's lips. Luxu didn't realize the worrisome impression his appearance can give when he just randomly walks up to a normal person.

"Man, don't scare me like that! It's so hot out here and you're wearing stuff like that. Anyway, you're in Q-City."

"Q-City? I...see." Luxu's face scrunched up in thought. It sounds familiar. Where has he heard of this city before?

He'll have to do more research before he can successfully remember, but this is good news. He nodded to himself with minor satisfaction. Even a single mystery down can increase the mood of a nigh-emotionless being.

"Thanks." The hooded man gave an awkward wave before walking off to the streets. The fact that there's something poking at his memory here means that this is a world he would remember.

"Q-City, Q-City, Q-City..." he chanted repeatedly. It's on the tip of his tongue. A city being named after the alphabet is definitely from a fictional place. He can't recall a single place in the world that followed the same naming sense.

The hooded man looked above at signs plastered on buildings. The lettering is Japanese.

The man doesn't recall ever spending time learning Japanese, but on the other hand, he doesn't recall much about his personal life in the first place. What matters is that Japanese means he's in a manga, anime, visual novel, light novel...all the stuff that the country produces.

"Q-City..." He continued forward, aimlessly wandering on the streets while moving around the crowd. He had the courtesy to not bump into them and they had the courtesy to move away from where he moved.

All of a sudden Luxu stopped in the middle of the street.

"Mysterious Being Alert! There are currently multiple Tiger-Level threats moving around. Everyone in Q-City, make sure to keep off the streets and barricade yourself indoors." Small booms sounded off in the distance.

Another minor explosion happened closer to Luxu. The redhead paused in the middle of the street, watching the people run past him at their maximum speeds, sweat pouring endlessly from the fearful presence of a monster ahead. The redhead wasn't particularly taken aback by its inhuman appearance.

The bipedal creature had scales running along its entire body and it was content on letting its long tongue dangle from its mouth. The eyes showing intelligence also contained malice as the creature was content on watching its prey scurry about.

"So that's where I am." The one rock in the middle of the river was completely fine holding itself down. Luxu stared at the monster with a small hint of curiosity in his eyes. He didn't expect to find himself in One-Punch Man, but it all adds up with the ranking of monsters and the name of the city.

"Hm, doesn't Watchdog Man patrol here?" The reptilian monster finally noticed that there was a person who wasn't running away from him when the rest of the citizens made themselves sparse. The man in the black coat merely stared blankly ahead, like he was daydreaming.

The monster walked forward with a frown.

"Fool. You dare not flee in my presence?" The redhead didn't pay much attention to the monster's words. He was merely curious on what type of Mysterious Being was in front of him. Was it the type that went from human to monster or was it born this way?

Luxu clenched his fist as another thought came to mind. The body he possesses right now, Nagi Springfield's body, was a strong one. The man was a master of magic, but that required knowledge that the current Luxu either doesn't remember or doesn't know. However, even without magic, the body itself should still be strong.

Plus, he's a Nobody now. He should be very superhuman at the bare minimum.

"Oh, frozen from fear is it? That's natural. Allow me to put you out of your misery."

So, it was out of nothing but pure curiosity that Luxu clenched his fist and threw a punch forward at the monster standing in front. The attack started as something haphazard and without a lick of martial skill to it, yet partway through, Luxu's body settled into a stance he didn't recognize. What he could only describe as muscle memory took over as he delivered a proper punch instead of a half-assed one.

The force of the punch made the reptilian monster double over, blood and spittle leaking from his mouth along with choked agony trying to escape from his throat.

"Im...possible...!"

Luxu has a better idea of his strength, but he believes he can do more. He should have an element he naturally favors, but he has zero idea on how to use it with magic. All he could feel was something foreign inside of him, a feeling of slight bloat.

He tugged on it.

The air slightly distorted around his hand. The hooded man cruelly tested out this new power of his by placing his hand on the monster, like he was giving it a pat on the head. The distortion in the air solidified and then a red beam of something akin to plasma burst from his palm and pierced the monster's head, killing it instantly.

"Huh?"

Confusion swirled in the redhead's mind. It reminded him of something...what was his name again? Xemnas. It was the ethereal blade that Xemnas uses when fighting.

"Does that mean my element is Nil?" The Nobody laughed artificially. He was trying to remember how to laugh, yet the emotions prevalent in laughter weren't able to be recalled nor could they be successfully and naturally outputted. For him to be naturally inclined to the element of Nil, isn't that deeply ironic?

He feels nothing and he truly is nothing. Even his element is nothingness.

Luxu sighed. "I want to grow a heart already."

It's something that will come naturally. All the man needs is time. He'll spend some time catching his bearings in this world while attempting to practice his abilities. After that, he can go try figuring out the circumstances behind his existence.

His body, his memories, his abilities, the worlds, how he ended up here; there are quite a bit of things for the curious man to seek out.

The man walked onward, the blood splatter not sticking to his special clothes in the slightest. Despite the lack of a smile on his face, Luxu was radiating an aura of contentment and tranquility. He's in a whole new world, but the excitement and fear that should be running through him is absent.

All he can do is explore the world and meet people until he grows a heart and matures it enough to experience emotions again. He can't wait until he experiences anticipation again.

"Again? Oh, this is a nice memory." Now, he started smiling, though it wasn't a genuine one.

However, mimicking something that happened in the past seemed to germinate something within the Nobody. If one fakes an emotion long enough, it can sometimes become the real thing.

"Onward unto a new beginning...? That sounds about right."

While Luxu was aimlessly walking in the city, the monster threat was taken care off relatively quickly. With an S-class Hero, a monster in the form of a human, Tiger-Level threats couldn't stand a ghost of a chance.

That hero brutally massacred the monsters that attempted to taint his territory and he formed a pile of those corpses to rest upon. Occasionally, his head would crane upward and his nose would wrinkle. There was a sent that drew his curiosity as it didn't feel quite human, but it wasn't that of a Mysterious Being either.

The S-Class Hero ultimately chose not to move because it wasn't hostile. And if it wasn't hostile, then it was a human who was in his territory. He would watch over everyone as he always does.
