6 Mistake Or Not

Kamigani had to meditate for hours to calm her nerves before going back. She gave her pass to a guard at the gate before she was allowed in.

She rode Mayflower to an old oak tree at the High town square closer to the castle, she would have love to return Mayflower to the stable but it was already late, she would have to come back for her.

Lanterns were lit beautifully on the main road, people could be seen going about their businesses some were in a hurry which means it was almost time for curfew before midnight.

She took the dark alley making sure her steps were lighter on the ground. She navigated her way to the wall farther than the main gate leading to the palace. She opened her thigh pouch and took out the rope, she removed the grabbing hook and tied it to it before removing her veil from her pocket to cover her face, only her eyes were visible as she tied it.

She rolled the grabing hook and threw it over the fence, she pulled it back till the grabbing hook hooked on the copping. She moved back to ready herself to climb the wall. It didnt take long to climbed over the wall and dangled the rope to the other side to slide down. She ran till she got to the opening were a guard was stationed.

Kamigani was glad to find it was the only guard stationed at the wall. She crawled to the side, the guard didn'turn. She rolled to the blindspot she can't be seen at the side of the building.

She looked at the fortress wondering why the King had to live in the fortress and not taking one of the massive houses in the compound which would have been easy for Kamigani. According to her report the King's quarters was located at the top floor.

There were guards stationed at the long corridors, she would get caught if she decides to take it.

Kamigani traced her fingers on the wall, it was so smooth and climbing it would be difficult with her knives. The corridor seems to be the only way but how many guard could she take out before they sound the bell which would lead to her getting caught.

A guard without a touch was coming over and she stilled only to see he was taking a piss. She quickly tiptoe to his back and smashed his head on the way. He fell on the floor with a thud. She pressed her fingers on the right side of his neck. He was still alive.

After undressing him, she wore his cloths. To be save she took one sleeping dart and gave him a shot. She removed her veil and wore the helmet over her head. She emerged from her hiding place and walked confidently towards the corridor.

She hopes no one would notice how the cloths hung loosely on her body or how the helmet was so big it almost covered her eyes. She walked past some guards who were stationed at the corridors but they didnt even glance her way. She was glad when she made it to the top as some group of servants passed by. She would have love to see the castle in daylight, it was beautiful how the lanterns hung high up the ceiling. She wondered how they got to fixed it there.

She slowed her pace when she saw a man walking in strides towards her direction and a man she recognised as the King's guide walking behind like he was chasing the man.

She couldn't see the guards at the door but she could see they were not willing to let this man in.

The man yelled. "Let me in you swine."

Another guard interfered before the King's guide came to view.

"Tell them to let me in!." The man yelled.

The King's guide said something and the massive tall door were opened by the guards.

Two servants were walking toward her giggling.

"Lord Vane is here." She sounded exited.

"He brought four beautiful women so don't even think about it." The other said as they disappeared down the corridor.

She waited pretending to be stationed at the corridor. The door opened and the man came out looking angry before walking the opposite direction. The King's guard came out, said somethings to the guards as he walked away along with one of the guards who was without a helmet.

This is her chance, she starting walking towards the door when two servants were running toward her.

"Its time for curfew." One said as they hurried passed.

Kamigani knew what it means, no one must be seen outside during curfew. They would be arrested without a tangible reason. She took out her sleeping darts and approached the guards. they turned to her only for her to skillfully throw the darts which pierced their neck and they all fell on the floor immediately like a sack of potatoes.

She opened the door and entered swiftly, ran through the meeting hall to the chamber, she spotted the the bed at the end of the massive room. She moved to it parting the net acting as a partition her heart beating fast. She looked down at the King and she didn't expect to see a veil coving his face. It was the first time being close to the King, she had only seen him once from afar.

"King Xanxier am so sorry but it seems your reign has to end here." She drew out her sword when curiousity got the best of her. She wondered what the King looks like.

She heard his face was burnt and his mouth was so wide he could swallow a whole fish. It wouldn't hurt to peek. She stretched her hand and removed the dark veil only for her to gasped and her sword froze midway.

"What....."

The King doesn't have a wide mouth, his face wasn't burnt. He was so young and the most handsome man she had ever seen, even with his paled face and lips that seems to have lost its colours he looked like Heaven spent a lot of years carving his face.

His nose was long and perfect, his eyebrows full and straight like it was just shaved, his jaw defined, his lips full and smooth. She couldn't do it. She sheathe her sword and opened her pouch bringing out the Kenilworth Ivy flower. She pried his lips open and squeezed the flower so hard till the juice dropped in his mouth. When the bell started tolling.

She doesn't have time to check if she did the right thing, she turned to dash outside when her cloth got stucked in a candelabrum. She tore the cloth and glance at the King to see his eyes opened slightly.

She ran out of the room as a guard spotted her.

"Over there!" He yelled.

She ran and jumped down to from the corridor to the next one.

The deed was already done and Kamigani doesn't know if she did the right thing or made a big mistake. She had to throw her darts everytime she encoutered a guard. She was glad they didn't discover her rope which she climbed over the fence with and discarded the guards cloth at the other side. She quickly hurried down the part leading to Ayante's house as she ducked to avoid the guards running down the streets as the bell in the tower kept tolling.

She knew Ayante would be waiting for her like how she does when they go on a mission. It was so dark but she knew her way, she crawled and dashed to the small alley to avoid the main streets as she tried not to make a sound. Her boots stepping on the ground silently, she dashed through the alley when she spotted a guard with a touch coming her way, she quickly grabbed her small hook knives and hoisted herself on the walls till she was able to flatten herself on the roof as the guard passed by.

Kamigani took a deep breath preparing to descend when she spotted two more guards at the end of the alley. Her only choice was the roof. She crawled gently on the roofs and somersaulted to the next building, she crawls with her hands till she reached a clear end and jumped down, she hissed in pain as her legs almost gave way. She could see the house, she dashed into the compound expecting to see Ayante sitting on her chair waiting for her but instead she met some guards and they drew out their swords and pointed it to her.

Kamingani raised her hands up in surrender. "What did I do?" she asked foolishly as she spotted Huare and Tutina being held my two guards as they pushed them to their knees.

"You are arrested for the murder of the king." One of the guards said as one guard disarmed her as they lead them out of the house. She should have known it was a trap. the turban would rather see them dead than his trap to be exposed.
