18 Feelings

Desmond did not say anything. He sat on the couch and sighed. Too many things were going on at the same time which included his upcoming nuptial with Elsa.

Carl sat next to his brother. "I wouldn't have come here if I knew." He left the club soon after Desmond and Elsa did. Until then, no one told him anything about the situation. "I had heard you were here but I thought you were just hanging out. I didn't know that you were here with Elsa."

"I had to bring her here, I couldn't take her home."

"Good, this place is safe." Carl glanced at his watch. "I will go and discuss this matter with Greg first. We need to find who they were as soon as possible."

"Greg and Ricardo are already working on finding whoever was involved." Desmond was just waiting for them to give him an update about the situation. Once they found out who it was, he would deal with them personally.

Keeping quiet for a while, Carl inquired, "Do you think it's them?"

"I am sure that it's them," he scoffed. Who else could it be other than them?

Carl did not say anything. Just like Desmond, he was also waiting for the right moment.

"What about Elsa? Is she okay?" He was also worried about her safety. Within a short span of two weeks, she would be a part of their family. They had to keep her safe no matter what happened.

"She is fine." Desmond got up. "I'll go back now. I think you should go home and stay there tonight."

"I will leave now."

…..

[Downstairs]

When Desmond entered the apartment, the living room was dimly lit while the bedroom lights were still on. Assuming that she was still awake, he made his way towards the bedroom.

He wanted to make sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed before going to sleep.

But to his surprise, when he entered the room Elsa was already fast asleep on the couch.

He stood by the door for a couple of minutes, looking at her with pure tenderness and affection. She looked so innocent and peaceful that something stirred inside him.

Is it okay forcing her to marry a man like him who cannot give her things a woman expects from her husband or her married life?

He knew that just like him, even Elsa wasn't given a choice. This was something that was forced on them, both of them. Though everyone was talking about the big sacrifices he was making for his family, no one was talking about the things she was giving up. From her last name to all the people she loved, she was leaving everything and coming with him whom she barely knew.

Desmond sighed as he approached her. He scooped her into his arms.

She looked so fragile in his arms.

When she snuggled against his chest, he froze as his heart flustered with a new fuzzy feeling. It made him feel warm yet suffocated at the same time.

He quickly paced towards the bed, placed her in one corner before storming out of the room.
