4 truly a treasure!

They made their way down the stairs to meet Xinyung's dad. Lucyndth, only now remembering his legs looked bare, scrambled to tuck his shirt into his shorts to indicate he was wearing clothing. Xinyung opened the door at the bottom of the stairs to reveal the library/cafe.

"Xinyung. Good to see you again." The man was leaning on a table covered in books. His hair was a dark red with grey strands and his eyes were the same color as Xinyung's. He had a tired look in his eyes that gave you an indication that he had been through a lot in all his years on this earth. He was taller than Xinyung and that was saying something. Xinyung had to be just about six one. Lucyndth felt like a child next to them, him being five six and all.

Xinyung walked up to his father and bowed, "Father. Good to see you."

Xinyung's dad glanced over to Lucyndth and then to Xinyung, "I'm waiting for you to introduce me to the young lady."

LADY? Did this man just refer to Lucyndth as a LADY? Lucyndth felt a bit of his pride chip away.

A small laugh escaped Xinyung. Lucyndth looked at him waiting for him to correct his father, but that moment never came.

Ignoring the mistake, Xinyung started to speak. "I was just getting to that! I called you here today to introduce you to my new host. I found this treasure washed up ashore, memory gone. After examining my little find.." Xinyung paused and smirked at Lucyndth before continuing, "thoroughly, I realised that what I thought was an intruder, was actually the perfect candidate for a host. You can see the mark of the beast right here."

Xinyung walked over and grabbed Lucyndth's arm to show his father the tattoo of a bunny. His eyes widened in shock at what Xinyung was showing him.

'A bunny is some "mark of the beast".' Lucyndth joked to himself inside his head.

Xinyung continued on, "So that obviously means that this isn't just a regular human! We both know that humans aren't capable of completing a blood deal. So I plan to attempt to do the ritual in two days."

Lucyndth pulled his arm away from Xinyung and looked at him with confusion. What was a blood deal? What does he mean Lucyndth's not human? That made no sense to Lucyndth. He felt pretty human.

Xinyung's father nodded and followed along with what Xinyung was saying. "It seems that you have everything under control. I just have a few questions. How in the hell did you find someone with the mark of the beast? The last person with that mark died years ago and you know that she was-"

Xinyung cut him off, "The Queen."

His father scowled at him. Xinyung knew better than to cut off his father when he was speaking.

"You know that means that this kid is someone important, right?" Xinyung's dad walked over and looked Lucyndth in the eyes.

"Yes. Important and powerful! Imagine making a blood deal with someone who has the mark of the beast!" Xinyung joined his father in the act of looking into Lucyndth's eyes.

Lucyndth just laughed nervously. He had no idea what the two were talking about. The whole blood deal and mark of the beast thing confused him, but it was the only way he'd be able to get his memories back. Only then he could finally find out who he was supposed to be.

Lucyndth finally got the courage to speak, "Also s-sir, I am a boy."

Xinyung's dad and Xinyung gave each other a few awkward glances before Xinyung's dad coughed nervously, "U-uhm. My apologies.." He paused, for he didn't know Lucyndth's name.

Xinyung leaned over and whispered his name into his father's ear and his father continued speaking, "Lucyndth. You can call me Mr.Zihu. Xinyung will help you find out who you are and who you're supposed to be. In return, you will give us the highest ranking this family has ever reached!"

Mr.Zihu said that last sentence more to Xinyung than Lucyndth. He showed his approval with the slight smirk. He then walked towards that door. Before he walked out he turned to tell Xinyung one more thing.

"I'm guessing that you will both be traveling to the underworld for answers. I will be waiting there. Just tell me when you've arrived and what you have found out about Lucyndth. Be careful, son. You know that messing around with the mark of the beast can be dangerous."

He smiled one last time before saying "I'm proud of you, son." and then walking out.

Xinyung stood in shock before turning to Lucyndth, "My father has never addressed me as 'son' before. Neither has he ever said he was proud of me!" He smiled at Lucyndth, "You're going to change my life. You really are a treasure, aren't you?"

He pulled Lucyndth in for a hug. Lucyndth lightly padded Xinyung's back twice, not knowing how he should respond.

A thought popped up into Lucyndth's head. He pulled Xinyung off of him and looked him in the eye, "I. Am. Star-ving!" He chopped each word up and even separated the syllables of the last word. He meant business.

Xinyung rolled his eyes and pulled Lucyndth into the kitchen. The kitchen where they both met. The kitchen where Xinyung hit Lucyndth in the back of the head with a bat. Lucyndth still felt that spot where he hit him.

Xinyung opened the cabinet to pull out a loaf and some dried fruit. He gave them both to Lucyndth. He opened the refrigerator to pull out some milk. Lucyndth and Xinyung sat at the small table and ate their meals quietly.

After breakfast, Lucyndth waited for Xinyung in the library part of the cafe. He waited to get a deeper explanation on what Xinung and Mr.Zihu were talking about. It looked like Xinyung had some information about Lucyndth that he didn't know of.

Xinyung came out of the kitchen after he finished his meal and looked at Lucyndth waiting impatiently in a chair. Xinyung sighed and decided that he'd give Lucyndth the explanation that he deserved. He didn't want to tell Lucyndth how important he was because he thought that Lucyndth would get cocky, but it seemed as though he had to.

"Okay," Xinyung pulled up a chair next to Lucyndth and continued, "I'll only explain this once, so you better pay attention carefully."

Lucyndth nodded and Xinyung kept talking, "Let's start with the ranks of families. The underworld, even in this day in age, believe in arranged marriages. They send their daughters off to random men in higher ranked families just to raise the rank of their own.

That doesn't mean that the sons of the families don't have an important job! Their job is to find a host. This too heightened the ranks of the family. Now, the population is split into two social groups, I guess you can call them that. The two groups being the demons and the Dökkt vatn. The Dökkt vatn have a long history-"

Lucyndth interrupted Xinyung, "I didn't a-ask for a history..history lesson! I want to know why I'm important!"

Xinyung glared at him. "I'm getting there. I have to explain this or you'll never understand! The Dökkt vatn species date back to the beginning of time. When the Naiad clashed with the Dökkálfar and made their own empire. The Naiad were a water spirit and the Dökkálfar were a dark, mysterious, earth species.

When they collided, they created an utterly beautiful mix. The Dökkt vatn! They had the power over life itself with what was in their blood. Only the strongest of them all, the natural born leaders, the most dangerous, bore the mark of the beast. The mark taking the shape of whatever animal represented the era. The bunny is our era at the moment.

The demons and the Dökkt vatn fought for years on end. Neither wanted to bow down to the other ones King. In the end they split the land, fighting for more of it everyday. The demons had the power of destruction and the Dökkt vatn had the power of creating life. It was a long, horrible war.

That was until one fateful day, a demon realised that they could create something called a blood deal with the Dökkt vatn. Making them stronger than ever! A demon and a Dökkt vatn merged together could have the power of creation and destruction. It was frowned upon once it first came into the public, but after a much worse enemy, ghouls, came after both groups they decided that it was best for them to do it. To start making blood deals.

That's when they made a treaty. The peace has been kept ever since. The sad part of the story is that the people who had the mark of the beast started to die out over time. No one ever knew why. It became a big deal when the last person known to wear the mark died just a couple of years ago. Making a blood deal with someone with the mark would make an unstoppable monster. Something so strong that no ghoul would dare to take it on.

That's where you come in. This is why you are so important. My father attempted to hold back his surprise, but he was in complete shock that you even exist. You can be the strongest weapon of the underworld! You might as well be king! Well, you're more like a prince. A delicate prince...That can be the most powerful weapon in the underworld!!" Xinyung through jazz hands as he said that last line.

Lucyndth slouched in his chair, taking in all the information he just received. The pressure was starting to weigh on his shoulders. He took a deep breath and composed himself. He needed to be strong. He needed to do this. This mark is the only thing he knew about himself, so if it means he had to become a strong leader then he would do it.

"But.." Lucyndth thought out loud, "If this mark and whoever wore it was so important...then why doesn't anyone know about me?" Lucyndth looked up at Xinyung with questioning eyes.

Xinyung shrugged in return. "Maybe you were hiding in your past life."

Lucyndth looked down as he fiddled with his petite fingers, his grey eyes being the windows to thoughts Xinyung wish he could penetrate. Xinyung sighed. He then stood up and stretched. Before he could walk away Lucyndth tugged on the back of Xinyung's shirt.

"Where are we, and what are you doing in th-the human realm?" Lucyndth felt a bit of surprise inside of him. Something finally came to his mind. He knew where they were! The human realm!

"We're in a place called Florida. It's a small section of land in the human realm. As to why I am here, well, let's just say it's none of your business." Xinyung winked before walking towards the door that led to the stairs. "I'm going to take a shower. Feel free to browse the books. They're all on different spells and on the underworld's history. Have fun!" Xinyung saluted before opening the door and running up the stairs.

Lucyndth looked at the sign above the door and read it out loud, "staff only."

While Xinyung was cleansing himself, Lucyndth spent some time reading. He did so while keeping a dictionary beside him. Every now and then he'd forget what a word meant and he looked for it in the dictionary. Which, sadly, isn't helpful when the dictionary used more complicated words to describe the already complicated word.

After Lucyndth started getting bored with the books, he started trying to practice speaking. The more he spoke, the less he stuttered. At some point, Lucyndth got tired of the English language all together and started to wonder what was taking Xinyung so long to get out of the shower.

Lucyndth started up the stairs and started to search for Xinyung. He opened the door to the room he woke up to that morning and found nothing. No sign of Xinyung. He walked out into the hall and found a door to the left. Nothing but the storage closet he got locked in last night,

After opening two more doors and being disappointed, Lucyndth opened the door to find what he guessed to be Xinyung's room.

Everything was color coded to be black and white. The carpet was white and so were the curtains. The dresser to the left of the room was black. The bed frame was black and the sheets to the bed were white with black pillows. A lot of vintage black pillows. Everything was topped off with a painting of a white rose with a black frame above the bed. He glanced across the room and saw a door. He guessed it was the closet.

Lucyndth ran over to the window to see what was on the outside. He pushed back the curtains to find the boardwalk he was strolling on last night was now filled with people. A lot of people. Too many people, in Lucyndth's opinion. He closed the curtains and walked over to the nightstand beside the bed.

There was a small piece of paper. After reading it's contents, Lucyndth had a flashback to the night before. It was that weird spell thing Xinyung casted on Lucyndth. He shuddered at the thought and put the paper back down.

Lucyndth jumped at the sound of a sarcastic voice behind him, "What is a delicate little prince like you doing in my room?"

Lucyndth pivited on one foot to face Xinyung wrapped in a towel, his torso exposed. His light brown hair was out of its usual bun and was now hanging as shoulders, soaking wet. The steam from a hot shower was coming from the room that Lucyndth thought was a closet. How did he not hear the water running!? Was he not paying enough attention?

Xinyung walked over to Lucyndth. He could practically feel the steam from the shower coming off his body.

"Looking for something in particular?"
