New Beginnings

Shortly after the spirit passed on, the sky returned to its normal baby blue hue. The soldiers occupying both sides were silent and exhausted. The air thick as a slab of iron, they stood in complete confusion of what they just witnessed. The opposing army started something strange indeed, something that was unheard of in all the history books.

Without a single word uttered, they dropped their weapons. In an almost domino effect, they fell to their knees. Some were even crying and sobbing. I heard some of their voices and they spoke of not recalling where they had been or why they were there. Looking back at the King's regiment, they were as confused as the enemy forces. They cheered in victory.

I approached the king, seeking his guidance once more. His guard surrounded him once more, in his defense.

"What is the meaning of this? I'm still the Guard Captain." I said

Looking at each other, they questioned their actions. They sent Veralt out to speak to me.

"We don't know what just happened. Don't wanna take any chances." He said.

" I may appear different, but I assure you, it is me still. The same Leo, the same boy whose life is in debt to his king."

"Stand aside! I'll see him myself if I have to." The king ordered.

He approached me, but something was different. He was shorter?

"It was just as you always said, you saved us. You have shown your true self, the Leo I've known that has hid from the world. This is who you are meant to be." He said

The warm spirit from earlier returned, this time was different. He revealed himself to me. Unveiling himself from the warm aura, showing who he truly was. He was tall, comparable height to Itaru. Clad in solid black robes at first glance with his hood up, his face unable to be seen. Upon further inspection, the robes he donned were similar to that of my own. He had something in his hand, it was long and he handle was black. It was a scythe. Simple design, more of a classic design, with an arcing blade and long handle. He approached me, but he didn't simply walk over, it was more of float.

"I know you have many questions, but for now we must go. When we arrive at the Corps I can inform you of everything." He explained in a soft tone.

"But, I'm needed here. Who will protect the land if not I?" I stated.

"You need not worry about that, the feud is at its end. The demon was controlling them all to begin with. They will return to normal shortly and will work things out."

"I don't quite understand, but you are my best bet to figuring this out. I also don't quite get it, but I feel as if I can trust you."

"Then let us leave. I'll create the portal and you simply have to walk through." He explained.

"Soul walk" was the words he uttered. His index finger and middle finger glowed with a bright blue hue. The hue shot out of his finger tips and created a blue hole sitting in the air itself.

"Let us go."

I didn't know where I was going or what was going to happen but what I did know was; my life as a normal human was over. How did I even get to this point?
