2 Candle lights and dinner (music)

Chad and Marguerite hugged for a while before finally letting go. After a few minutes of bonding, Marguerite takes him to the sofa with some drinks to relax and talk while the cake is in the oven cooking. Chad ate before coming here since he didn't expect this pleasant surprise. It must be said that Marguerite very rarely cooks. Even if the food turns out barely passable, Chad would gobble it up with a smile on his face. Everything seems to taste much better when it is made by the one you love.

Marguerite already had a lot to drink at the party, therefore she only drinks a glass of champagne very slowly to not make it seem as if Chad is drinking alone. Chad recounts the beautiful and not so beautiful tales he experienced on his tour around Africa. He works as an international volunteer doctor and helps children in undeveloped countries with diseases and problems that require surgery. He has to travel a lot and doesn't earn that much money, but he loves his job and wouldn't exchange it for the world.

Because of the low income her lover has, Marguerite decided to give up her passion for music and instead went to study math to become a cryptographer and bring back the money at home for when they build a family together. After talking until the sun went down, Chad and Marguerite went to the small dining table. Marguerite serves the entré and main dish which are a potato salad and a french style Ragout.

She has a French mother currently in Spain for retirement and so is strongly influenced by the French culture. She also speaks French fluently as well as Norwegian and English. Chad, however, is a pure new-yorker with a complementary New-York accent.

While they eat and talk, Chad politely leaves the table to go to the bathroom and secretly goes to the room where his things are.

He takes out a small dark purple box covered in velvet that he got during his stay in Morocco a year ago. The box had caught his attention at the small shop that day while he was strolling the beautiful streets of Fez. He took it on a whim and never regretted it.

He quietly puts the box in his pocket and goes back to his beautiful girlfriend to continue the meal.

The candles are almost out as they create a peaceful atmosphere around the couple. The smell of red wine and good food is wafting through the dark room. Soft music is playing and Marguerite is radiant like the full moon illuminating the streets of Trondheim outside. The music changes to a love song and the mood shifts to a more ambiguous one.

Lover

I know you're weary

Eyes are tired

From the night

Lover

Come to the kitchen floor

Tiles are cold

So am I

The voices quiet down and the two lovers look at each other with eyes full of sweet love, the kind of gaze that gives you instant cavities. You can almost see little hearts flowing around the dining table. Marguerite's green eyes are reflecting the clear brown eyes of Chad.

So take from me

What you want

What you need

Take from me

Whatever you want

Whatever you need

But lover

Please stay

With me

Chad is really happy right now, she gave him such a great welcome gift that he feels a bit embarrassed while stroking his little velvet box. He thinks to himself: <Maybe I should wait a bit more>. He was thinking of saving up a bit more to bring her to a fine restaurant.

Lover

I feel your sorrow

Pouring out

Of your skin

And I don't want to be alone

If I'm tonight

I'll always be

Marguerite is happy to see her boyfriend's face after so long. His natural pale skin became much darker now. <It suits him>.

Marguerite was a bit nervous when Chad took a bite of her food at first, but he ate it so enthusiastically that she feels her heart swell each time she looks at his happy face. The candles are giving out a nice lavender smell and the plates are almost empty. She regrets buying those tiny candles that only last a day or so, but Chad looks happy nonetheless. She tells him about everything that happened while he was gone and the funny stories from her uni while Chad makes her laugh with his special sense of humour and funny faces.

And I can see you

I can feel you

Slipping through my hands

Ohh

I can taste you

I can taste you

Slipping through my hands...

Laughter and cheers, <what a blissful day>. Marguerite can't ask for more right now.

My lover

Please

Stay with me

Ohh

My lover

Please

Stay with me

—————————————————————

Full and satisfied, Chad takes away the plates of food and goes to do the dishes. As for Marguerite, she is preparing the new bed sheets for the night. They enter a blissful sleep, their bodies entangled together, breathing each other's warmth, and enjoying the feeling of each other's skin.
