4 Totally Legal

"Hikari, Korū, Alina, please go to the principal's office," a teacher said, poking her head into the classroom.

Korū sighed. "Ah shit, here we go again."

Alina stood up. "Come on guys. Linda, see you after school." And the three of them strode out of the classroom and followed the teacher to the principal's office, the many eyes of their new classmates following them.

They reached a set of glass doors and the teacher allowed them to enter after knocking.

Korū merely folded his arms and stared nonchalantly at the principal, narrowed eyes fixed on the man's face.

The thin man smiled at them and gestured towards the chairs on their side of the desk. "Hello. I'm your principal, Mr Moore. Please take a seat."

"Hi Dad." Alina said, somewhat coldly. "Long time no see."

"'Dad'?" Hikari repeated in disbelief. She studied the man more carefully. He and Alina shared the same midnight blue eyes and straight hair, but while Alina's was black, his were a dark brown.

"Not yours, Alina's." Mr Moore chuckled good humouredly. Alina snorted incredulously. "Can one of you explain why you did what you did?"

"They literally asked for it," Korū grumbled. "We gave them a choice, they were like "hell no" and decided on the fight. So we gave it to them."

Mr Moore snorted. "Just obeying Alpha's orders? Huh. Can't get better than that. I need you to tell me the details, then I'll talk to the parents."

"Hey guys, do you want to come over today?" Hikari offered during lunch. "I'm fairly certain my mom won't mind."

They had strolled out of the office earlier with smiles on their faces, with the principal's words that they were "off the hook" as far as he was concerned, to which Alina rolled her eyes till they were stuck at the back of her head.

"I'm scared, but sure." Alina said, and Linda nodded.

Hikari rolled her eyes. "You're not going to die. Maybe."

They walked to Hikari and Korū's house after school. Korū opened the door to find their mother sitting on the couch talking to her twin brother, also known as their uncle, and her half-brother, also know as their other uncle.

The two visitors stood awkwardly at the door, taking in the sight.

Their mother looked up, then proceeded to smack her twin over the head, because that is just what they do, and smiled. "So you're Hikari and Korū's friends? Welcome. I'm Takara. Just call me whatever you want, I guess. There are drinks in the fridge." She stood up, as did her brothers. "Well, I'll be out, so you have the house to yourselves. Oh, and," she fixed the twins with a piercing purple-blue stare, "We'll be talking about that fight later."

Alina and Linda shifted to the side a little to allow the adults to pass. After they exited the house, Alina clapped her hands together, "Okay, so what are we doing?"

Kor took random drinks from the fridge and threw them to his friends.

They caught the cans and cracked them open. "Red Bull?" Linda asked, "I don't think you'll need any more energy than you already possess."

"Fuck off." He picked out one of the beer cans that his mother usually saved for guests who were legally permitted to drink. But of course Korū didn't really care.

"Oi, share." Alina said, tossing back her energy drink.

Korū threw another can at her, carelessly dumping the empty Red Bull can in the bin. "Anyone else want some? Last chance or you're getting it yourself." Hikari didn't even need to say anything before he tossed one at her as well.

Alina caught the can as Linda eyed all of them disapprovingly. "You know this isn't healthy right?"

Hikari was already halfway through her drink, while Korū was gulping his down like water. "Well, you know, live while we're young." Hikari glanced at her brother. "Oh yeah, he's able to keep going until midnight."

"Hah, not bad. I've never tried getting drunk before." Alina said.

"It's a no from me." Linda said, shaking her head. "Wait another one or two years, guys."

"Actually, it's four," Korū corrected. He casually finished off his second can, Hikari one can behind. "Cocktail anyone?"

"A Cosmopolitan please." Alina said, grinning. "I've always wanted to try." Linda clucked her tongue, deciding to focus on preventing her friends from dying of alcohol poisoning rather than preventing them from drinking at all, since that would require her to reverse time.

Five minutes later, Alina had her drink in front of her, and Korū was chilling on the couch with a bottle of whiskey. Hikari was on her third can of beer.

Linda glanced warily at Alina as she scrolled through her phone, looking up recipes for well-known cocktails, nodding to herself periodically as she found ones interesting enough.

Soon after, Alina disappeared into the kitchen for a while, and the tinkling sounds of glass could be heard occasionally. She then came back armed with a tray of shot glasses and turned to Korū with an impish smile, "Are we gonna start the shots?"

"Hell yeah." He got out the stuff and nudged Hikari. "First one out loses."

Alina smirked. "You're on."

Poor Linda rubbed her face with her hands, regretting her unfortunate choice of friends and the responsibility that came with it.

Hikari gave Linda a slightly apologetic look, then picked up her first glass. "Go."

Korū practically poured his down his throat, keeping pace with Hikari.

Alina quickly followed suit, downing glass after glass of the vodka shots she had mixed, while Linda watched helplessly on the sidelines.

Hikari surrendered first, staying conscious but dropping out just so she could watch the chaos that would happen when her brother got drunk.

Korū was literally inhaling his shots. Apparently, that ability came with having the privilege to drink with Takara and her brothers when they came over.

Alina watched as the shots diminished, wondering how hard it was to get drunk as a werewolf-human hybrid, peering at Hikari's semi-conscious body.

Korū had already downed an equivalent of three bottles of alcohol and was still going strong. Hikari reached for the flask of water that was sitting nearby.

"Weak!" Korū crowed.

"Fun fact: the weak call others weak to make themselves feel better." Alina snickered, a little buzzed.

"I'll fuckin' show you who's weak," he growled. And he inhaled the shots even faster.

Linda rolled her eyes. "If any of you choke and die, I'm not going to mourn."
