7 Abrupt End

"Wakey wakey! I'm dragging all of you out for my morning run!" Alina shouted, intentionally raising her voice, bouncing up and down on the guest beds that her friends were sleeping in.

"Oh my god, leave me alone," Korū grumbled, rolling over, stuffing his head under the pillow.

"Exercise is the best medicine for a shitty mood." Alina said snarkily, her voice wavering unnoticeably. She was pulling the blankets that her friends were buried under away, opening the windows and turning on the lights. She had woken up 30 minutes earlier, taking her morning shower and getting ready for her run, before going through her mental mail, while her friends snoozed.

"Go away," Hikari mumbled, burying her face in the mattress.

"Any longer and I'm busting out the ice water." Alina threatened, poking her back repeatedly. "Oi, Linda, wake up!" she turned to her third friend who was still dead asleep. She jumped onto her mattress and started slapping her head with the pillow. "Also, today is annoy-my-friends-as-much-as-I-can-and-see-if-they-still-like-me day."

"It's 5.30 in the morning, go away before I start killing people." Hikari warned.

Korū got up and jumped out the window to find some peace.

Alina grinned as she watched, then shrugged to herself nonchalantly and continued to wake Linda up.

"Alina, I'll always love you, but if you don't stop now I'm gonna grab you and tie you up and gag you, then go back to sleep. You won't even get to work out."

"Linda…" Alina started, "Okay, I'll stop." she strutted out of the room and Linda started to doze off again. She crept back to the room, armed with buckets of ice and water.

Korū was on his way back home, just giving up on his friends and sister.

Hikari was knocked out again.

Suddenly, Alina made her move, dumping the ice water on their heads, before standing back and watching their reactions.

Immediate shrieks.

"WHAT THE HELL-" Hikari yelped, wincing as an ice cube smacked her forehead. "KORŪ YOU LITTLE SHIT, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

"Alina, fuck, what's wrong with you!?" Linda cried indignantly, shooting out from the bed. Alina ran out of the house, Linda hot on her heels.

"BAKA!!!" Hikari screeched, flinging a stray ice cube in Alina's direction before she got out. She then proceeded to do what Korū did and leaped out the window. After changing her soaking wet clothes, of course.

Alina ran around the neighbourhood with Linda chasing her, before following Hikari as she caught sight of her jumping out of the window.

Hikari found a nice large tree, climbed up, and went back to sleep. Korū was at home, also sleeping again.

Alina climbed up to Hikari and tackled her out of the tree, before taking off again to hunt Korū down. Linda just sighed, and followed her to make sure that no one killed anyone else.

"OH MY FUCK I JUST WANNA SLEEP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! IT'S 5.40AM, LEAVE ME ALONE." Hikari yelled as she tumbled down, picking herself up as her two friends made their way to her house.

Meanwhile, Korū's twin radar was going crazy but at that point he honestly didn't give a shit.

"Morning everyone!" Alina shouted as she barged into their house, picking the lock with her trusty bobby pins. "I announce my presence!"

Korū just locked his door and window, piling up stuff behind them, because who knew what Alina was capable of? Hikari darted into her own room, slamming the door. Takara was woken up by all the insane commotion and was extremely confused.

"The early wolf catches the rogue!" Alina yelled. 'Also, I have something extremely important to tell you guys."

"NOT SO EARLY! GO AWAY."

"It's really, really important." Alina said solemnly.

"NO."

"Guys please, I"m serious." She turned to Linda who had been standing behind her, "I got a mindlink from Alpha Harry 15 minutes ago, which is partly why I started waking all of you up. I thought we'd start the morning on a happy note before I dropped any bombs, but you guys just aren't morning people." She sighed deeply before continuing.

"They're gone. Our Gammas, Linda. Duke and Bethany are gone."

Linda stood frozen, staring at Alina in shock. "What about Felicia?"

"Left in the house. No one has any idea what happened, and everyone is panicking."

"Korū, Hikari," Takara said, her katana in hand, walking down the stairs. "I have to leave for a bit. If I'm not home by midnight tomorrow, I probably won't come back." And she was out of the door.

The twins finally opened their doors. "Wait, Okaa-san-"

No response because she was far away by then.

"I don't understand what just happened…" Alina whispered, her eyebrows furrowed. "I need to leave too, at any rate. Linda, are you coming? John may need your help." Linda gave a quick nod, and they turned to leave.

"Hey, we're coming with you." Hikari said.

Linda squinted at them. "It's pack business. We can't drag you guys into it. Besides, it could be dangerous."

"Hah? You seriously think we're afraid of danger?"

Alina rolled her eyes. "Fine. Come on."

"Hold up, do we have any stuff to settle here before we leave?" Linda asked.

Alina shook her head. "My dad will handle school. Anyway, It's not like we can't come back later. I say we go there and see what's up first. If we have to stay, we can always pop back."

And they were off, Alina leading the way as they navigated through the city to a less populated area, and into an abandoned building that was closed off to the general public to prevent curious people from walking in on people popping out of nowhere and disappearing into somewhere.

They made their way to a transfer point, and fished glowing blue stones out of a pouch that Alina offered. Clutching the small stones in their hands tightly, they crumbled, and all four of them felt the small whooshing sound of wind whipping around. Opening their eyes, they took in their surroundings: they were in a neutral area of the inner world, which the twins have never seen before.

Glancing at each other, they stepped away from the transfer point on the other side and ventured out into their world.
