1 CHAPTER 1: The Socialite Princess is Back

1:30 PM, XX Airport, City M

The airport was packed. People who came and left the city were clamoring. A certain woman looked over the crowded place with boredom. She wore a pink laced dress, pink stilettos, and a white handbag. She was wearing Chanel from top to bottom. She walked towards the exit with her back straight and chin up. People couldn't help but look at her, be it a man or a woman. They couldn't deny that this woman was beautiful.

Slightly chinky eyes, delicate nose, high cheekbones, and a bow-shaped lips that were stained with natural colors. Her long black hair in a ponytail was swinging as she walked. The weariness from the long flight did not diminish her beauty.

Suddenly, someone seemed to recognize her.

"Miss Leong?" A woman wearing glasses squinted her eyes as she approached her. "It is you." The woman smiled.

Eislyn smiled at the woman. "Do you need something?" She asked.

"I am a reporter from Q Entertainment News. Do you mind if I interview you for a few minutes?"

"Sure."

The reporter smiled and took out her mobile phone to record.

"Why did you come back this time? Aren't you studying abroad?"

"Oh, I just graduated a few days ago. A few people knows about it so I'm not going to blame you for not knowing." Eislyn smiled.

The reporter felt like it was an insult but the other party was smiling so she couldn't voice out her opinion.

"Congratulations. Are you know going to work at you father's company? Or are you going to pursue another path?"

"I have no plans for now. Next question."

"Since you are back for good this time, will there be a welcome party?"

"I haven't talk to my family about it yet but some of my friends prepared one for me." Eislyn was now getting annoyed with the reporter's questions. Why did she agree to be interviewed again?

"Okay, last question. A lot of people, especially bachelors, are wondering if you have a boyfriend?"

"I'm not dating anyone at the moment but who knows, one of these days, I might." She winked at the reporter, not waiting for her to wrap up the interview, she strutted out of the airport.

She didn't need to wait longer as her family's driver greeted and opened the car's door for her. A few moments later, they were driving towards Highcrest Residences, one of the most expensive residences in the city. It is said that only a few people could afford a villa in the area. Only the real wealthy families of City M, and a few celebrities are living there.

The Leong family is one of the wealthiest in the city, even in the whole country. They are what people call, old money. Fortunately, the family produced excellent offsprings that continued and expanded their businesses.

Eislyn's father, Leonard Leong, is the current head of the Leong family. As the only daughter, Eislyn has received all the good things life can offer since she was young and her family, both from her father and mother's side, doted on her.

"Young Miss, we have arrived." The driver said, opening the door for her.

When she walked inside the European-designed villa, the butler and maids greeted her.

"Welcome back, Young Miss." They greeted her.

Eislyn nodded at them, motioning to the butler to get her baggage and put it in her room.

"Young Miss, the Madam is on her studio." The butler respectfully said.

Eislyn frowned. She is not interested in her mother at all. She wasn't close to her mother since she was a child. For her, Astrid Leong, her mother, is someone who is cold and stiff. She has not showed her any warmth her whole life so she does not have a favorable impression towards her mother.

"I know."

She walked towards the stairs and into the third floor to her mother's studio. Although she doesn't like her mother, it was still rude to not greet her. She opened the studio's door and walked in. She saw her mother sitting in front of a canvas, painting. The woman was wearing a white long-sleeved dress. The painting was half-done and she could more or less see what it was. It was a woman's reflection on a shattered mirror.

"Mom, I'm home." Eislyn said, her voice soft and low as to not disturb the woman.

"I know." The woman did not even turn around to face her. Astrid Leong continued to paint, as if there was no one in the room beside her.

Eislyn rolled her eyes, expecting the cold reply. "Whatever." She turned around and left the room. Unbeknownst to her, Astrid Leong, who has always looked grim and cold, had a soft look in her eyes.

Eislyn went her room on the second floor and laid on the soft bed. She took out her phone to see her social media. What greeted her was an article from Q Entertainment News. The headline was eye catching: The Socialite Princess is Back. There was also a picture of her on the airport. The news had already made it on the trending list.

That was fast, she thought. It hasn't been an hour yet.

There were countless messages from people in her circle who was asking her if the news was true. She told her friends that she's coming back, and they have prepared a welcome party for her, but she didn't disclose the date of her flight. After answering the questions of what she deemed was 'worthy', she turned off her phone and dozed off.

When she woke up, it was already dark outside. Eislyn got up and went to take a shower. It took her almost half an hour to finish. After that, she did her skincare routine before changing into a comfortable pair of lavender-colored nighties. At this time, someone knocked on the door. She heard the soft voice of the maid.

"Young Miss, dinner is ready. The Madam is already waiting for you downstairs."

"I got it." She answered.

She went to the dining room and sat across her mother. They were both silent as they ate. Only the sound of the clinking tableware were heard on the room. In the middle of the dinner, there were sounds coming from the front door, the butler greeting someone. It did not take long before her father came to the room.

"Dad!" she greeted him. She got up on her seat and rushed to hug her father.

Leonard Leong was full of smiles as he hugged his daughter. "Welcome back, my princess."

Leonard dotes on his only daughter. Although he was mostly busy as she grew up, he made sure that he showered her with everything he could afford. Because of it, Eislyn has become spoiled rotten.

"Nyx is also here." Her father said, and then she saw a man standing on the dining room's door.

He has become taller since she last saw him. He looked dashing in his suit. As much as she hates to admit, the man was good looking as hell. He had piercing gray eyes that she envies so much, tall straight nose, lips that was slightly plump, and a sharp jawline that men would like to have.

"Why is he here?" She asked, she did not hide the contempt in her voice.

The man did not look affected and just walked in and sat on the seat beside her. She clenched her fist. This guy has become more outrageous.

"Princess, don't say that. He has been helping me with the company for a long time, and you grew up together." Her father frowned. She pursed her lips and did not speak any longer.

She walked back to her seat and took a seat. Her father kissed her mother's cheek before sitting down.

Dinner resumed and this time, it was livelier. Her father asked her questions in which she answered happily. She never looked at Nyx but she could feel his gaze on her. She felt irritated and wanted so much to snap at him and say 'What are you looking at?' but she couldn't do it as her father was still present.

She gritted her teeth and tried to calm down.

She felt like time was getting slower and heaved a sigh when dinner ended. Her father has said goodbye to her as he has a flight to catch. He was leaving for a business trip. Her mother did not even say goodbye to her father and just went back upstairs. Only she and Nyx was left on the living room.

"It seems like you've climbed up the ladder again." She said, her voice dripping with acid.

"It was your father who assigned me to an important position." Nyx calmly said.

Eislyn sneered. "Knowing you, you must have said something to have him do that."

"Do you think your father would be fooled by mere words?"

Her father is not someone who would be fooled. She knows that. But she doesn't understand why her father trusts this person so much. He was clearly an outsider. Someone whom her father picked up on the street.

She still remembered when her father took Nyx home. He looked rugged and dirty. Her father introduced him to her and said that he would be living with them. Of course at first, she did not hate him. She even looked up to him. But when she realized that he is a wold in a sheep's clothing, she began to despise him.

She was about to speak when her phone rang. She frowned and looked at the screen. It was a call from Hale, one of her friends. she answered it, not even bothering to leave the room.

"I'm outside your house," The voice of the man greeted her.

"And why are you here?" She asked.

"I'm picking you up. Our friends prepared something for you."

She smirked. Knowing her friends, that 'something' would more likely be a party.

"Let me just change my clothes." She said before hanging up.

She glared at Nyx before going back to her room.
