6 Licensed Fighter

After I trained for 6 months, I finally managed to gain the confidence to register as a fighter in <Super Fighter Arena>.

Though boxing has a few flaws when fighting other martial arts, especially when you added superpowers into the formula, I could at least gained a little fighting knowledge to help me survive in the lower to medium division.

I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror and reflected upon the things that had happened in the past. Balancing work and training was hard for me. My body was shattered into pieces to the point that my coworkers thought that I was just turned into an undead. There were times where it was difficult for me to even picked up a bottle of water.

The training that Helga gave me was tough. She was the woman who confronted me when I first stepped foot into the gym. Her spartan training made me think that she was probably a reincarnated demon lord but, thanks to her, I managed to achieve something that I could never think of achieving. Enduring that hellish training has given me a body similar to a lightweight class boxer.

When I looked at myself in front of the mirror in my bedroom, I also realized that my hair has touched my shoulder. So, I tied my hair with a rubber band.

Seeing my silhouette with a tied hair kind of reminded me of the time when I met Julius for the first time. Though, he was bigger than me.

He's been helping me a lot. Especially with my parent's hospital bills. He said that he wanted to help me because he thought that I have the potential to turn into a great and interesting fighter especially with my teleportation ability. He was very eager to fight me in the future. He was a little bit of a battle maniac.

It was a sunny day and the sky is clear. It was my day off from work. I wore my shirt and long trousers and took my bicycle to the Fighter Association to register myself as a fighter.

The building was grandiosely tall and surrounded by glass. It stood in a tubular shape with each floor getting smaller and smaller in diameter as it gets to the top.

It was crowded. A lot of reporters were standing outside. Perhaps, there was a prodigy signing up on the same day as me.

I managed to squeeze through the crowd and enter the tower. I immediately went to the receptionist to register myself.

"Hi! How can I help you?" a soft voice greeted me behind the reception table.

"I want to register myself as a fighter."

"Oh! Okay!" she rummaged the cabinet near her chair to take an empty form. She put the form right in front of me and she said "So first, you can fill this form, and after you finished, you can submit this form to me and I will guide you to the next test."

"Okay."

I filled in the form, and then I was guided into a room. It was quite an empty and spacious room surrounded by concrete and no window. Inside, a man was sitting on a chair. He saw me and he stood up while holding a tablet on his left arm. He was around 2 meters tall. He approached me to greet me.

"Hi, how are you? I'm Richard. Nice to meet you!" he put one of his arms in front to shook my hand. his tepid and serious face was quite intimidating for me.

"Hi, I'm Mika," I replied while shaking his hand.

"So..., I'm here to test your ability as a fighter. I will ask you a few questions and I will also ask you to demonstrate your ability. Do you have any questions before we start?"

"No, I think we can start now."

"Okay! Good!"

The test was quite simple. Only consisting of agility and strength tests and performing your ability, you don't need any experience in fighting. So, as long as you have an ability, then you can join as a fighter. This is to prevent commotion and chaos caused by people from fighting on the street or illegally and also reducing cases of public disturbance.

I managed to finish my agility and strength test without any major issues. Though I believed that I didn't create any world record outcome, I still felt satisfied with the result I made. The next test is to show my ability to the assessor.

"So, for the next test, you have to show me your power. What kind of ability do you have?" he said after recording my data into the tablet.

"I can teleport."

"Eh..., okay! Show me!"

I teleported from left to right and then I teleported right in front of him.

"That's it?" he asked.

"Yeah."

"Okay." he let out a little smirk while trying to record his evaluation on the tablet.

After I finished the physical exam, I was tasked to wait in the waiting area near the receptionist hall. I waited for quite a while. Then, the receptionist came to approach me.

"Mr Mika, we have recorded and evaluated your data and performance, and we have judged that you are qualified to become a fighter. Congratulations! Here is your identification card and a certificate indicating that you are a licensed fighter. Here is also a book containing rules and regulations on fighters. We will inform you through email about your bout. We hope that you will have a great career in the future. do you have any questions?"

"No."

"Okay! Good luck Fighters!" she said that out loud while holding out a peace sign with both of her hands. Her face was cringing so hard out of embarrassment.

"You don't have to force yourself to say that you know."

"I have to. It's part of my job."

"Okay."

I put my card, certificate, and book into a bag, and I immediately went home.

From now on, I will be starting from the lowest division.

<Super Fighter Arena> or SFA is divided into 3 divisions. The lowest division is the national B division, followed by national A, and the highest division is the global division. There is no weight class in all divisions. every new applicant will start at the national B and they can climb up to a higher division if they have met certain criteria.

These criteria are winning 1 seasonal championship, have an outstanding fighting record, and getting enough recognition from the fans and SFA Committee.

Becoming a national B division fighter does not mean instant fame and wealth. In this division, there are a lot of amateur fighters with little to no fighting experience. so a match from this division only garnered small viewership since a match can sometimes be a little boring and often turn into a catfight. Though, there are people who still chose to watch this division. Some are to seek potential fighters and some prefer to spectate the rawness of an amateur catfight. ok

It was dinner time. I received an email announcing that my first match will start next week. My first opponent will be Thomas Jeffrey. Apparently, he was the cause of the commotion that happened earlier this afternoon.

There had been a rumour going around saying that there would be a new fire wielder joining as a rookie fighter. Fire magic was considered to be the strongest because of the damage that it can create. as long as the fire is still alive then it will still inflict damage and reduced the opponent's HP. This effect is only special to fire-type magic. Ice magic, even though technically it can produce an everlasting cold that can continue to damage cells, will not be able to reduce the opponent's HP. This is the reason why people consider fire magic holds the strongest damage.

Not only that he wields fire magic, but he was also the younger brother of one of the famous fighter, Roja The Fire Man. That's why there is a lot of hype surrounding his debut as a fighter.
