5 First Encounter

For the next few days, my peaceful life as a plant has been very nice. I've grown taller, got more leaves… It shouldn't be long before I'll get recognized as a sapling. Oh wait, since I'll become a sapling, that means I'll eventually become a tree as well right? I wonder if I'll bear fruits when that time comes… or maybe I'll be like tea, where my leaves are the one harvested. Either way, both would definitely bring me trouble as a magical plant.

Anyway, I've also finally covered the whole dragon with my roots and I've grown taller with some extra leaves. And since I've covered the whole dragon with my roots, the range of my passives has followed suit.

The dragon turns out to be in a crater. Seeing that the crater is now fully covered in grass, I can assume that it has been here for a long time. Which means that I, too, have also been here for a long time. When I was starting to wonder how life is like back in my original world, I then remembered there's only a crater left there… Oh well, not that I missed it or anything anyway...

As I looked back towards the grass covering the crater, I began to think to myself 'Hmm… My time perception as a plant seems to be very different compared to when I'm a human… I don't feel like much time has passed after all…'

After I've covered the whole dragon, I've began to focus on completely absorbing the whole dragon. The reason being is that I discovered that I can infuse my energy to my core, rather than just storing it or awesomely orbiting it around my core. By doing this, I'm practically 'enhancing' or 'upgrading' my core. I don't really know what it does, but my instincts are telling me that it makes my core more resilient and stronger.

It also helps with practicing my energy manipulation. I also don't know why I should be practicing my energy manipulation, but I can feel something in me telling me to do so. Probably either my instincts, plant nature, or my DNA.

With my current ability to manipulate my energy, I can make it so that the energy around my core look more like mist rather than the ring of Saturn. To me, that definitely looks more cooler, giving off a more mysterious look.

It's actually not that hard to do since it's my own energy. A few days of practice and voila. What is challenging however, is to somehow manipulate the energy around me. What I want to achieve, is to use my energy manipulation along with my energy absorption to see if I can increase my absorption speed by manually manipulating the energy in my perception range to come to me.

To explain how it's making me feel, imagine a human staring at an object trying to learn telekinesis. That's how I feel as I concentrate at the energy floating around me. The only difference however, is that I can actually make the energy budge. But that's about it. Maybe a slight vibration here and there, but that's it.

But that's not going to stop me from continuing to practice it.

However. Something appeared in my perception. From it's outline, it should be a snake. 'How is it approaching me? Shouldn't my draconic aura keep away the lesser- ah, could it be, an intelligent snake?' I then saw the snake begin to slither on the dragon, heading right towards me. 'Ah, definitely an intelligent snake...'

As I continue to watch the snake approach me, all I could do is hope for the best...

In the forest where our beloved plant has laid roots.

An injured snake could be seen slithering on the ground. Its size can be considered to be quite small. With a length of about 30 cm and with the thickness of a human's finger, it's amazing for it to still be alive. "Cih, that bird almost made me into dinner. If it wasn't because of my poisonous nature, I would be the dead one first." said the snake in an unknown tongue.

As it was slithering around, it suddenly sensed something. Something… enticing? Delicious? Either way, the snake can't help but get drawn to it. It stopped slithering forward and made a turn to follow its senses. "This… what is this… it feels like its calling towards my bloodline… yet at the same time, it also feels… like the stars?" it said.

Soon, it arrived at the source. "is that… is that a dragon?" it continued to observe for a while before noticing the chopped off head and the gaping hole. "Ah it's dead. Hmm… but I don't think the feeling I'm getting is from the dragon… Hm?" That's when the snake noticed the sprout on top of the dragon.

"That's it! That's the source!" upon finding the source, the snake immediately started slithering towards the sprout. As it approached it, the snake was stunned.

Other than the inexplicable enticing feeling it is getting from the sprout, it also can't help but be amazed by the looks of it. Along the stem of sprout, one could see the glowing pattern of a dragon, as if the dragon is coiling around the sprout. On the leaf, one could also see the pattern of a dragon but along with the dragon, it's almost as if the starry sky is present behind the dragon.

While the snake was gazing upon the sprout, it suddenly noticed "My wounds… are healed?" the snake was stunned once again. 'Amazing!' the snake thought to itself. Finally, it surrendered to its instincts and…

Ate a leaf…

As a carnivorous creature, for it to have the impulse to eat a leaf is a bit strange. But once it swallowed the leaf, it could feel the leaf immediately dissolving. Following that, it could feel energy running through its whole body. It could feel itself somehow getting more powerful.

'Marvelous! Amazing! Wonderful!' as it continued to feel the energy coursing through it, it kept on praising the plant. 'I understand now. The draconic nature in its energy had enticed the sliver of draconic in my bloodline. While the even rarer celestial nature in its energy healed my wounds.' with the energy from the leaf flowing through it, it began to understand more about the plant.

At the same time, it could feel its bloodline being enhanced and purified the draconic and celestial nature in the energy.

While most of the time, when a creature like the snake tries to absorb more energy than it should, it would lead to severe consequences. A typical example would be exploding in a very bloody way. But there are exceptions, with Celestial energy being one of them. Due to the very nature of celestial energy, excess amount of it would never harm the body. In fact, it is possible to contain and restrict the celestial energy in the body, allowing the body to slowly take its time in absorbing it.

However, despite celestial energy being present almost everywhere under the sky, the only way anyone knows has ever been able to procure it is through hopefully finding a plant that has absorb it. And to even have an excess amount of it, the plant must have gathered it for tens of years, or even hundreds, maybe thousands. Which makes celestial energy as one of the most, if not, the most precious type of energy.

And that is not even taking into consideration its capability in boosting a being's power.

While the snake doesn't really have that knowledge, it could feel from its bestial nature almost screaming how precious it is. Not to mention that the energy is both celestial and draconic in nature. Right after it finished enjoying the energy from the leaf it ate…

It proceeded to eat another…

And another one…

And again…

Once more…

One more down the throat…

Until finally, there was but one left…

Just as it was about to eat the last one, it saw the leaf sway in an attempt to dodge it. "Oh?" seeing that, the snake stopped.
