2 Am I really a Plant?

'...this seems bad...'

I don't know how much time has passed, but I can feel the energy reserves in me almost running low. Damn, am I actually that unlucky to die again without achieving anything?

Just as I was ready to accept my fate and come up with some lines that I would be saying to the ball of light when I meet it again, I suddenly feel the area around me became moist.

'Yes! Finally! Is it raining? Maybe I'm not that unlucky after all... Hahahaha!'

Without delaying any longer, I began to absorb the water from around me.

[Ding! <Water> has been discovered. Adding to Synthesis list...]

'Hmm?' What? What does that mean? I feel something odd with that notification.

Isn't it only natural for me to absorb water to gain more energy? But then a certain memory hit me

A memory from a biology class in school...

"Seeds require water to germinate. The water helps to soften up the 'shell' of a seed so it can germinate properly..." bla bla bla bla

But the point is, seeds don't turn water into energy! at least not until they sprout and have leaves that can do Photosynthesis, but until then, seeds don't get energy from water!

I continued to ponder about it for a while. Of course while still absorbing the water. Even if I don't know how I'm doing it, doesn't mean I should stop.

But then my thought was interrupted.

Suddenly, I felt the area around me violently shifting around. As a seed, I can't really see or hear anything, but it's probably right to assume that something exploded nearby. Why do I assume so? Because I can feel half of my roots are no longer covered in anything. Damn it.

*Thud*

'Hm? it got covered again?' it wasn't long after my roots was exposed that it suddenly got covered again.

'oh well, thankfully there are still some water my other roots can absorb' and as such, I continued to absorb the water.

Though, not long after, I sensed that my previously exposed roots began to start sensing something moist as well.

'Oh? Is it getting water there as well? Then I shouldn't hesitate to abso–'

[Ding! <Dragon's blood> discovered. Adding to Sythesis list...]

'On second thought, I should actually probably hesitate a bit...'

After imagining taking a few deep breaths with my currently non-existent human respiratory system...

'...HOLY SH–, WHAT THE F–'

Dragon's blood! Is that even absorbable? Even if it is absorbable, is it safe to be absorbed?

Though I say that, what's done is done. I did absorb a little which caused the notification to appear. And so far, it feels like nothing wrong has happened. Other than I can feel the absolutely HUGE difference in the amount of energy I'm absorbing from the blood compared to water. And also the slight tingling feeling i'm having. But I should be able to ignore that.

'...why is there dragon blood here anyway?' And so to try and answer that question, i decided to try and see if I can grow my previously exposed roots into what is covering it now.

And after growing my roots after a long time, I tried absorbing again. And well...

[Ding! You have gathered enough energy to begin sprouting your first leaf!]

[Ding! <Dragon's flesh> discovered. Adding to Synthesis list...]

'...'

Speechless. It shouldn't need too much thinking to conclude that there is definitely a dragon on me.

'Status!'

It definitely did not make sense!

'How is it possible to absorb something like a scale and flesh!? I can still get my head around the blood since it's also liquid but the scale and the flesh?'

But soon I came up with a bold idea.

[Ding! <Earth> discovered. Adding to Synthesis list...]

That was the notification that appeared after I tried absorbing what was around my other roots. And with that notification, it confirmed my thought.

'I can somehow absorb anything into energy huh...'

If I had a head at this moment, I would definitely be looking up with an almost melancholic expression while asking myself...

'Am I really a plant?'
