Yeah that was a question he really should be asking himself. He was never the most resilient in life until the event. And since then everything that would have killed others could just never kill him. Cole was almost never as strong as his main opponents, what should be certain death had always turned out to be overwhelming victory.

Perhaps it would be a different thing today. But still, Cole doubted that even if he couldn't fight back, his body would make it easy for Azrael to kill him. Immortality? A Deus Ex Machina? Plot Armor? It could be anything, but one thing was for sure, Cole might die here today, but he's definitely not going to make it easy on Azrael.
